The NFL released their 2025 schedule on Wednesday, and we found out when and where the new era of the New Orleans Saints will begin. The answer is Coach Kellen Moore will first take the field at the Caesars Superdome on Sept. 7 against Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals, and in fact, the team will play the first half of its home schedule by the time Week 6 is done. Just how tough is it? Well, the Saints will play their first three games against the NFC West, including a trip to Seattle in Week 3, before heading to the other side of the country the following week to play Super Bowl contender, Buffalo. The Saints won't face a division foe until Week 8, and the middle of the schedule is tough. How will they navigate through, and are we ready for (way too early) predictions? Times-Picayune and Advocate sports columnist Rod Walker is with host Jim Derry on a special Thursday edition of Dattitude Podcast (Ep. 375) presented by Evangeline Securities. Jim's “Last Word” offers where expectations on Tyler Shough should be by pointing out quarterbacks not drafted in the first round since 2014.

A Rocket Mortgage advertisement featuring West Virginia's famous, unofficial song, “Country Roads,” may have not been specifically designed to promote the state during Super Bowl 59, but officials are saying that it definitely helped shed a positive light on it amid the state's growing tourism industry and its goal for more population growth. Tourism Secretary Chelsea Ruby said it was the best free advertising they could ask for. When the broadcast returned to the game with the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, over 65,000 fans had broken out into a live rendition of the song. “It was absolutely incredible, no matter which team you were cheering for, I think all of us can agree that West Virginia was the big winner of the night,” Ruby said. The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 1: 3:05pm- The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs to win Super Bowl LIX. The final score was 40-22—but it wasn't even that close! Quarterback Jalen Hurts was named the game's MVP. 3:10pm- In his pre-Super Bowl interview with Brett Baier on Fox News, President Donald Trump defended his usage of tariffs against Canada, China, Mexico, and other countries—arguing that the tariffs are retaliatory, noting that the United States currently has a $350 billion trade deficit with Mexico alone. President Trump also insisted that making Canada the country's 51st state is a “real thing.” 3:25pm- Caught on a hot microphone, Canadian Prime Minister warned that President Donald Trump is serious about “absorbing” Canada. He explained: "They're very aware of our resources, of what we have, and they very much want to be able to benefit from those…But Mr. Trump has it in mind that one of the easiest ways of doing that is absorbing our country. And it is a real thing." 3:40pm- During Super Bowl LIX at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, the crowd roared with approval when President Donald Trump was flashed on the stadium's jumbotron. Popstar Taylor Swift, however, wasn't greeted with the same enthusiasm. When her image appeared on the same screen, the crowd mercilessly booed. According to a new CBS/YouGov poll, Trump currently enjoys a 53% approval rating.

Trump suggested it was too early to tell. 6:05pm- On Sunday, in a post to Truth Social, President Donald Trump said he has ordered Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to stop producing the penny. According to The New York Times it costs 3.69 cents to produce a single penny—which means the U.S. loses nearly $85 million per year producing pennies. But will doing away with the penny result in a transition away from hard currency—ultimately meaning less privacy with each purchase? The last time Carson Wentz was in a Super Bowl, he was on the wrong end of a fairy tail script - injured and watching from the sideline as Philadelphia Eagles' back-up quarterback Nick Foles led the franchise to its first ever title, finishing the job that Wentz started during the regular season before getting hurt. This year, should anything happen to Kansas City starter Patrick Mahomes, Wentz, now the Chiefs' second-stringer, would be a snap away from being summoned to create a little magic of his own and help the team three-peat. During Super Bowl week in New Orleans, The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane spent some time with Wentz, who he hadn't interviewed in four years. Hear what the former Eagles' no. 2 draft pick has to say about his outlook for the future, and how the passing of time has allowed him to put his stint in Philadelphia in perspective. Plus, in a new “Pick Six” segment, Jeff chats with Pro Bowl center Cam Jurgens about the art of making beef jerky and life on his family's farm. The Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles will face each other Sunday for a Super Bowl rematch in New Orleans. The two teams concluded the 2022 NFL season in a fight for the Vince Lombardi Trophy that saw the Chiefs edge out the Eagles 38-35. The Chiefs are looking to become the first team in NFL history to win the Super Bowl three consecutive years. Jalen Hurts provides a local connection as the Eagles quarterback was born in Houston and attended Channelview High School, but there is another Houstonian for the Eagles looking to earn his first Super Bowl victory. Braden Mann was a kicker and punter at Cy-Fair High School before playing for the Texas A&M Aggies. Mann was then drafted by the New York Jets in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL draft and then signed with the Eagles in 2023. Super Bowl LIX will take place at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, and after a snow playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams, Mann is excited to be punting with a roof over his head. "The prep doesn't change throughout the week," but "I love playing indoors," Mann said. The job of punter is not easy. They attempt to make up for the shortcomings of an offense but are only recognized for their mistakes. "If I'm on the field, something went wrong," Mann said. "It's fun to have that challenge." However, Mann hopes to take advantage of his opportunities to swing momentum and make a play in the upcoming Super Bowl.

Once again as we all prepare for the 2025 Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles held on Feb 9, 2025, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, there are headlines everywhere about the heightened concerns related to human trafficking. Law enforcement officials are warning visitors that they have increased their presence in New Orleans to ensure that young people are not lured into exploitation, and no one is victimized by sex buyers. Hospitality businesses such as hotels, motels, Resorts, and airlines, Uber drivers and travel businesses are all being trained to recognize signs of human trafficking. Posters are being installed in bathrooms in businesses across the area. It is true that for many years, there has been an increase in the number of cases of human trafficking at large scale events. They are often referred to as “circuit girls”. These are girls engaged in commercial sex who are brought across the nation to provide sex services at large scale events where there is increased demand. Be sure to join us as we discuss sex buying and selling at these events and many of the dangers involved in purchasing commercial sex including having your photo taken, blackmail by sex sellers and their agents, connection to organized crime and most importantly the enhanced risk of being arrested.

Larry Brown Sports Marshon Lattimore on Sunday is returning to Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, La., with something to prove. The New Orleans Saints traded...
We made up a new word on Wednesday, and it seems pretty simple. So we ask our viewers and listeners where the New Orleans Saints rank in the NFL's “lowerarchy?” There are plenty of teams in worse shape than us, right? That is the lead topic on Wednesday's Dattitude Podcast (Ep. 317) presented by Evangeline Securities, as host Jim Derry begins to look ahead to the Saints facing one of those “lower” teams in the New York Giants. Derek Carr or Drew Lock? Alvin Kamara or Tyrone Tracy? Brian Daboll or whoever the next coach of the Saints will be? You get the picture. Also, Jim is talking about Friday's LHSAA football semifinals, as this weekend's winners are headed to the Caesars Superdome for the state championship games next week. One of the 16 coaches joins us, as Franklinton's Nick Saltaformaggio is here to discuss his Demons, as well as what it's like to be in the semis with a third different school in 11 years. Jim and Salt also look at the other games in the semis that involve local schools.
It was pretty clear that ‘Rizzmas' ended Sunday in the Caesars Superdome. It wasn't just because the New Orleans Saints lost to the Los Angeles Rams, 21-14, but the fact that Mr. Everything, AKA Taysom Hill, was lost for the season (and potentially beyond) with a gruesome knee injury that involved him being removed from the field on a cart. Indeed, there were plenty of missteps for interim coach Darren Rizzi and the Saints, as they could not take advantage of holding the ball for 13:58 of the first 15 minutes and forcing a shutout of the Rams in the first half for the first time in the Sean McVay era. Instead, it was the visitors who were nearly unstoppable in the second half, and whatever dream of a miracle finish to the season was over. Host Jim Derry shares his thoughts in his weekly ‘Derry's Dime', and he asks viewers and listeners, as well, what they think on the Dattitude Podcast (Ep. 316) presented by Evangeline Securities in another ‘Mano E Monday' episode. We also talk a bit about LSU's romp of Oklahoma and the grittiness of quarterback Garrett Nussmeier.
The Browns showed up in New Orleans with a chance to get the second half of their season off to a good start and they might have put their worst performance on the field this year -- although the competition for that award is steep. Now with a 2-8 record, the team is headed into even more darkness with Pittsburgh coming to town on Thursday. Jake, Andrew, and Peter are here to talk about the disappointment down in Louisiana at the Caesars Superdome. The post-game show is replayed where the three break down the emotions around the loss, who played well and who didn't, where the team is headed after this type of performance, and what is worth attention the in Week 12 and more. In case you have been living under a rock and missed it, Broncos coach Sean Payton returns to the Caesars Superdome on Thursday night to face his old team that he once led to a Lombardi Trophy. So the question is: Are you Who Dats going to boo him or cheer when he is announced? Maybe a more important question is: Will Dennis Allen's defense show up on a short week after getting blasted by an average Tampa Bay team just 4 days ago? In other words, Jim Derry has plenty of questions for The Athletic's Larry Holder on Thursday's Dattitude Podcast (Ep. 296) presented by Evangeline Securities. Also, the duo will make their picks for the game, and Gabe Henderson and Uncle Big Nick's best bets of the week will be revealed, as well as a plethora of comments from our “Dattitude Family” throughout the previously live show.
