I cannot tell you how many times someone has come to me and said, “Remember when...” and they give me a bunch of details about something that happened to us as kids. The problem is, I cannot remember anything about the event. I can't remember it even happening! How can they remember so many details about it and I can't even remember it happening at all? The problem is with me...I forget things easily and this is what Paul is telling the church. Y'all need to look at the past, the history of your ancestors and learn from their mistakes. You are continuing the same path they were on and God punished them for their sin. You do not want God to punish you for sin so quit giving into the temptations and run to God. The one who provides everything for you including a perfect sacrifice, His son, that washes away your sin!

When your soul feels tired, discouraged, anxious, or forgetful, sometimes the most necessary sermon is the one you preach to yourself. In this message from Psalm 103:1-10, we're reminded to command our souls to bless the Lord and remember His unchanging benefits: forgiveness, mercy, redemption, and grace. Praise rises when we stop rehearsing our problems and start remembering who God is and all He has done for us.

When your heart is weighed down by guilt, weakness, or fear, Psalm 103 reminds us to look again at the unchanging mercy of God. In Part II of “A Very Necessary Pep Talk,” we're reminded that God has removed our sins, understands our weakness, and reigns forever as King over all creation. The same God who knows us completely still loves us deeply, and that truth gives every reason to rise up and bless the LORD.

Kelsie Watts's musical journey began in Lubbock, Texas, where she found her voice at two years old in a family of musicians. From early performances in church and school to studying opera and commercial music at Belmont University in Nashville, she developed her craft and gained recognition. Her self-released music led to a feature on AJ McLean's 2020 single “Hurts to Love You,” while her viral rendition of Kelly Clarkson's “I Dare You” on The Voice Season 19 earned her a spot on Team Kelly and millions of views. Now an independent pop artist, Kelsie continues to inspire with her music and advocacy. Her single “Live Out Loud” became the anthem for the Tokyo Sky Tree Global Campaign during the 2021 Olympics, followed by empowering tracks like “Look What You Missed” and the poignant ballad “I Can't Say Goodbye,” honoring her late brother who she lost to mental health struggles. In 2024, she released “After Midnight” and “Forgetful,” a Diane Warren-penned duet with Nate Amor. Beyond music, Kelsie is a dedicated mental health advocate, collaborating with organizations like Didi Hirsch and the Not Alone Challenge. Kelsie stars on Broadway in the musical, SIX. We know we can pray anywhere at any time, yet certain places are more favorable for prayer. There are also certain rhythms of prayer in the life of the Church that foster regular attention to the Lord. As Fr. Mike emphasizes with the Catechism, we can't pray always “if we don't pray at specific times.” Today Fr. Mike encourages us to find our place and time for prayer. Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 2691-2699. This episode has been found to be in conformity with the Catechism by the Institute on the Catechism, under the Subcommittee on the Catechism, USCCB.
