This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE! The Haunted Exchange Hotel in Fort Mifflin, PA, is home to many spirits. Originally constructed as an opulent hotel along the rail line, it would soon find its rooms converted into a triage center. More than 70,000 soldiers would pass through the rooms of the Exchange Hotel during the war. Roughly 1% would take their last breath at the Exchange Hotel. This means that nearly 700 soldiers would die at the Exchange Hotel. After the war, it was converted back into a hotel. A hotel that would almost immediately begin being known as a haunted location. Murder, suicide, and other dark events would grace its steps before eventually being shuttered in 1970. This is Part One of the story of the Haunted Exchange Hotel, shared by Kristy Summer of Soul Sisters Paranormal. Although i have been fascinated by the paranormal from a very young age, I didn't start investigating major locations until about 5 years ago. Although I don't have a cool back story of growing up in a haunted house , i did grow up watching ghost hunters and horror movies with my dad. I have had the pleasure of investigating so many amazing locations like Pennhurst, Mid Orange Correctional Facility, The Conjuring House, Fort Mifflin, and the Shanley Hotel. The list goes on. I'm just out here trying to get proof for myself, and maybe i small glimpse of the unknown that we all ponder, what happens after death?Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/beyond-the-tin-foil-hat--5335638/support.

This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE! Fort Mifflin in Philadelphia is a national historic landmark. It is one of the only intact Revolutionary War Battlefields and the only fort in Philadelphia. It was commissioned in 1771, and in the fall of 1777, it was bombarded and captured by the British. Hundreds of soldiers were killed or wounded in the brutal attack. On a visit to Fort Mifflin, you would not only stand on a Revolutionary War battlefield but also be inside a Civil War Prison and next to a magazine storing gunpowder during World War II. With a rich history like that, it's no surprise that Fort Mifflin is also haunted. It is widely regarded as one of the most haunted sites in America. Fort Mifflin, originally called Fort Island Battery and also known as Mud Island Fort, was built in 1772 by the British to protect Philadelphia. At the start of the Revolutionary War, the Americans claimed the fort and completed construction. It is located near the Philadelphia International Airport. It is one of the only remaining revolutionary war battlefields intact, which was also utilized during the Civil War, WW1 and WW2. It is also considered one of the most terrifying places in Pennsylvania.

REPLAY from Dec 5, 2022 Please enjoy! Donald Molnar MD is an internal medicine physician by day and a paranormal investigator by night. Don is the founder of the Haunted M.D., project which allows him to combine his passion of ghost investigating with being a practicing physician. Since 2001 Don has been out of training working as a doctor for various well known health systems. He was born and raised in Lorain, Ohio before doing his undergraduate and medical training in the Akron, Ohio area. He worked in Wooster, Ohio after finishing training and moved to Charlottesville in 2009. Don notes having paranormal and ghostly experiences all his life and he finally joined Twisted Paranormal Society (TPS) out of Fishersville, Virginia in 2012 to be able to investigate these curious experiences. As a part of TPS he has investigated many locations private and public. Some notable investigations include Hill View Manor, Fort Mifflin, St Albans, The Exchange Hotel, Dunnlora Inn and the USS North Carolina. Don can be seen in several of the episodes of the Twisted Realm which is a video production of the investigations of TPS which has been aired on PBS Virginia and now is seen on VIDI space and Amazon prime. In May 2018 Don started Haunted M.D. to talk about being a ghost investigating medical doctor and in March 2019 he decided to focus on it, stepping away from TPS/The Twisted Realm. The goals of Haunted M.D. include doing lectures for conventions, conferences or any group of interested folks; conducting investigations; and helping other teams or individuals with investigations. He approaches investigations using the same methods he uses to evaluate patients, paying close attention to details. Besides investigations and lectures, he posts a wide variety of interesting items on the Haunted M.D. FB page and on Don Molnar Haunted MD YouTube page. The posts include thought provoking paranormal concepts along with educational videos. https://youtube.com/@donmolnarhauntedm.d.9566

This is Part Two of the story of the Haunted Exchange Hotel, shared by Kristy Summer of Soul Sisters Paranormal. In a visit to Fort Mifflin, you would not only stand on a Revolutionary War battlefield but also be inside a Civil War Prison and next to a magazine storing gunpowder during World War II. With a rich history like that, it's no surprise that Fort Mifflin is also haunted. In fact, it is widely regarded as one of the most haunted sites in America. In this episode, we'll explore the history of the Fort and talk about some of the ghosts that haunt the grounds, The Faceless Man, The Screaming Lady, and "The Tour Guide" with the Executive Director of Fort Mifflin, Beth Beatty. Fort Mifflin was the sight of one of the American Revolutionary War's most heroic stands as well as a prison for those who fought against the North in the American Civil War. Filled with tales of screaming ladies and apparitions who love to give tours, we had the pleasure of welcoming John Curley back to the studio to talk about his team's latest investigation at this amazing site. * Our featured music is from Pageant Girls with the song "Complainer". This week was spooky af, as we talked about the oldest working military installation (technically) and the Fort that may have quite literally won the Revolution. That kind of history doesn't come without some spooks, and that's just what you'll get at Fort Mifflin. Afterwards we talked about a *literal* ghost town, a true example of what America's mining boom did to various pop-up towns in good ore country
On this episode we continue airing our listener stories about strange occurrences they have encountered. At the end I highlight some very strange audio I detected within one of these interviews. EVP? I wouldn't got as far as saying that since I'm very much on the fence about all of this. Let me know your thoughts, please. Dan tells a spooky story of a haunted military hospital. John tells a strange and scary tale of 'Charley' the ghost inhabiting a family members home. Bob tells of a compelling story of doors slamming behind him and his daughter at possibly the most haunted place in America as noted by the folks at the 'Ghost Hunters' show, Fort Mifflin, Philadelphia. And then Jim tells the story of a haunted chair and creepy goings on from his place in Atlanta, Georgia. Juxtapoz should have also wrote up about me and Ricardo meet for the first time at Making Time. Truly an art form. Yes I had to tell the world the Klip bio real quick because as a friend his work is truly phenomenal and every time I see him and his family it's also great to catch up and see what they're up to. Let's take a trip back in time and into the future. SCARED TO DEATH IS EXPLICIT IN EVERY WAY. PLEASE TAKE CARE WHILE LISTENING The first story Dan has takes to us some folklore surrounding an Indiana cemetery, just outside of the town of Brazil, Indiana. Can completing a ritual at The 100 Steps Cemetery actually conjure up a devil of some kind who reveals to you the nature and time of your death? The backstory followed by a modern encounter are the combo for that one. Then we travel from Brazil, Indiana to the ACTUAL country of Brazil. Perhaps some Brazilian paranormal force helped guide Dan this week? A possible skin walker sighting in Texas will give all of you pet lovers a bit of a spoop. Lastly, is a mom protecting her daughter or playing a trick on her from beyond the grave? When the British captured Philadelphia, the seat of the American Congress, in September of 1777 General Howe delivered a decisive blow to American morale. A month later, Howe tried to consolidate his gains with an attack on the American fortification on the Delaware River at Fort Mercer, now Red Bank, New Jersey, and across the river at Fort Mifflin. The Americans not only repulsed the attack by a combined British & Hessian force, but in the process destroyed 64-gun ship HMS Augusta, the largest ship the British lost during war. We talk about this with historian James McIntyre, analyst of the Delaware campaign, editor of the Seven Years War Association Journal, and biographer of Hessian officer Johann-Ewald.
