This is the bonus episode to Ep71. In Ep71, Margot brought you the story of CPT Esposito and 1LT Allen’s tragic murders. She walked you through the evidence presented at trial and the ultimate verdict of the capital murder trial of a Staff Sergeant alleged to have committed the double murder. Today, Margot has an open conversation with LT Allen’s widow. She has fought through some of the darkest moments in life, she sat through two capital murder courts-martial, she got a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice, all so she could be well informed about the process. She has published 2 books, and has a 3rd book on the way. She has her very own podcast, “American Snippets.” Dig in with Margot as she chats the ups and downs of this case, while further exploring Barb’s book, “Front Toward Enemy.” ---- Thanks to Today’s Sponsors: Canva Pro! Did the podcast sober today. I talked about people who put their instagram @'s on their cars, starting a cult/church, traveling, why I don't enjoy Disneyland, and much, much, more. Shoutout to Front Toward Enemy for the music. shoutout to Geraldy for holding the record for the most secret codes sent. You can follow their instagrams @Fronttowardenemyca and @yeraldz. Also want to give thanks to anyone who has shared, reviewed, rated, and even just listened to the podcast. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Shane Warner and Jon Chase had the opportunity to sit down with Dakota Meyer. Dakota is a Medal of Honor recipient, but that’s not what defines him. We talked to Dakota about training to be a firefighter, having a beer with the president and his continued efforts to make the world a better place. It is important to Dakota to be what people need him to be. He is proud of his daughters, Sailor and Atlee Bay and loves spending time with them. He has an amazing story of IronWill. So sit back and listen on www.ironwill.us or your favorite podcast platform. You can also follow Dakota on Facebook, Dakota Meyer and instagram @dakotameyer0317 or listen to his podcast Front Toward Enemy.
After losing her husband in a tragedy that rocked the military, Barb struggled with finding her own will to live. Were it not for her love of her four children, she may not have accepted the help that came her way, and Grief may have claimed another victim. But instead, she began to realize her Will was mightier than she'd believed, and she began to turn the table on Grief.Today she is an award-winning author, compelling keynote speaker, and co-host of the popular podcast American Snippets.Barbara is a firm believer in extracting value from experience, and using that value to create a life that is rich in beauty, no matter the odds. Baroness is one of the most critically-acclaimed and internationally successful bands that fall into the "extreme" metal category (even though they are much more complex than that) and yet few people seem to realize they are based in the Philadelphia area, not Georgia where the band started in 2002. John Baizley, the founder, lead singer, guitarist, composer and album cover artist for Baroness prefers that anonymity. John invited me to his home in Montgomery County where he lives with his wife and daughter, a few weeks after he returned from a European tour to promote Baroness' fifth studio album "Gold & Grey" - my personal favorite of 2019. John's home is the same place where he practices and records with his band, plus paints his many portraits for Baroness and other bands. We spent two hours (one hour of which was recorded for this podcast) talking about his continued love affair with the Philadelphia region, his obsession with colors, his desire to make his band different in every way and his steadfast resolve to live the "DIY" ethic. Recorded in Bala Cynwyd, PA on December 13, 2019. In this podcast: An excerpt of "Front Toward Enemy," the lead track from "Gold & Grey" (0:10); Matt reveals what album he played on Spotify more than any other in 2019 (2:10); why John chose to call the Philadelphia area as his home and a home base for Baroness several years ago (2:36); how Philadelphia was like a tractor beam as it was the birthplace of his parents and where John went to elementary school before his move to Virginia (5:20); Baroness' recent European tour and surviving on the road (7:20); how fantastic musicians sometimes have mediocre touring abilities (8:04); the ingredient that has been the constant to Baroness' success (8:58); how touring the world to play music is such an adventure (11:44); how the stress of touring has led to seven lineup changes with the band (14:00); the complexity and variance of writing a new record (15:02); their performance at The Fillmore Philadelphia and how confident they were onstage (16:06); the new album "Gold & Grey" and why recording it kept the band up at night (18:54); trying to evolve with Baroness' fifth studio album (22:10); shutting out the noise of critics, whether positive or negative feedback (22:50); making the traditional format of a regular band with vocals, guitars, bass and drums different (23:30); how he's endured 16 years in the same band (26:20); if John has a favorite color (28:40); why colors interest him so much (29:25); where the idea of naming each Baroness album after a color (or colors) came from (31:30); why the colors motif and the feminine-themed name and artwork for the band has always been a response to the outer music scene (33:30); why the explosion of Nirvana on the music scene meant so much to him (35:51); why "Nevermind" was "that" album for him (36:35); learning to always apply the "DIY" ethic (37:45); how the legendary band Fugazi taught everyone how to respect an audience (40:15); how Baroness acts "communally" on the road (43:10); living with ethics and a moral code (44:05); the tour bus crash in England in 2012 and how he's returned to the accident site (44:28); if he believes the crash was fate for him and his band and if it strengthened his resolve to live (48:30); the oddity of still being able to play guitar with his left hand (which was horribly injured in the crash) but not being able to open a jar with the same hand (50:30); where John likes to hang out in Philadelphia, with shout-outs to Union Transfer and the Philadelphia Museum of Art (53:05); why you can't "cruise" in Philadelphia as opposed to other big cities (55:10); his choice for the best band out there right now, plus the best bands from the Philadelphia scene (with shout-outs to Nothing, Sheer Mag and Woe) (58:00); how the goal of forming a band you cannot categorize can become complicated (1:00:26); excerpt of "Cold-Blooded Angels" from "Gold & Grey" (1:02:40).

Front Toward Enemy, Already Gone, Tourniquet, Throw Me An Anchor, Cold-blooded Angels, Borderlines (4 из 5) Я не претендую на объективное мнение, все субъективно, ребят.

The more Barbara Allen fought to be normal, the harder life laughed at her. Just when she thought she had the last laugh, life turned against Barbara in a tragedy that almost destroyed her. Barbara Allen was 32 years old in 2005 when her world fell apart. Barbara's husband Lou Allen had been killed in Iraq. She was left to raise our 4 little boys alone. Lou's loss was compounded by the shocking manner of his death and the aftermath became one of the most controversial cases in military history. Amply blessed with family and friends, Barbara pieced her life back together and developed a network that spans the country. Not even Barb's worst mistakes overpowered her greatest triumphs as she learned valuable lessons from these experiences, and enhanced her personal and professional worth. Today Barbara Allen is an award-winning author and co-founder of an exciting platform about patriotism and the American Dream. She's blessed with the opportunity to learn from extraordinary people and blend those lessons with her own as she helps others forge their own paths in this amazing country. There are many different perspectives on a huge event this week and and we discuss them all in our Punisher Episode Nine Review of "Front Toward Enemy" we discuss our top five points about this episode in our Spoiler filled discussion. As always make sure you've watched the episode before listening to the podcast. Punisher Episode Nine Review Podcast Spoiler filled Synopsis Written by: Angela LaManna Directed by: Marc Jobst As Dinah Madani (Amber Rose Revah) continues to blame herself for Stein's death, Lewis executes a series of bombings throughout New York City witnessed by Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal)and Micro (Ebon Moss-Bachrach). As the terrorist alert rises in New York, Lewis Wilson (Daniel Webber) sends Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) a letter, believing she will side with his cause as she had with Castle. When she doesn't, he contacts Page as she participates in an on-air debate between her and pro-gun control Senator Stan Ori (Rick Holmes) and threatens her life and the lives of those at the New York Bulletin. He hangs up after he issues his warning "sic semper tyrannis" that is recognised by both Castle and Curtis Hoyle (Jason R. Moore) reciting his unit’s Latin phrase “Thus always to tyrants”. Curtis immediately goes looking for Lewis, ending up at O'Connor's house where he finds Lewis’ bomb-making supplies and O'Connor's decaying corpse only for Lewis to overpower him and tie him to a chair with a Claymore mine strapped to his chest with “Front Towards Enemy". As Castle waits outside Lewis’ home Micro tracks his cell phone signal to O’Connor’s address where Frank finds Curtis and save his life after convincing Lewis to disarm the bomb. Castle proceeds to escape from the police after Lewis calls in the police to aid his escape and keep Frank at arms length. Meanwhile, in a bar Madani summons Dutch courage in anticipation for Stein’s funeral where she hopes to make a grand gesture in his memory. As she gets up to go Lieberman introduces himself to her at the bar and not only reveals Rawlins' name to her but also his work with Castle, just as a police car dash-cam footage on the news captures Frank’s image escaping the scene of a bomb factory and raising his public profile and continued existence. We're a man down in our Punisher Episode Eight Review of "Cold Steel" we discuss our top five points about this episode in our Spoiler filled discussion. As always make sure you've watched the episode before listening to the podcast. Punisher Episode Eight Review Podcast Spoiler filled Synopsis Written by: Felicia D. Henderson Directed by: Antonio Campos Billy Russo (Ben Barnes) opens up to Dinah Madani (Amber Rose Revah) about his past and Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal)and Micro (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) come to terms with Frank’s past as they learn about William Rawlins (Paul Schulze) identity. From the computer monitors Lieberman starts to see the strains and stresses on his family, as the monitors turn off he sends Frank over to his home where Sarah Lieberman (Jaime Ray Newman) shares her concerns about her son, Zach (Kobi Frumer), along with a bottle of rose and an awkward kiss with Frank. Micro hits the whisky but him and Frank work things out about that kiss. In the whisky haze, however, Micro has a moment of clarity realising that him and Frank should be working with Madani and not against her, but Frank is not convinced simply wanting Rawlins dead. As Castle heads back to Micro’s home to confront Zach about the knife he has in his possession he learns that he has grown afraid since his father's "death". After convincing Lieberman that seeing his son would be too dangerous, the two agree that the next course of action is to work with Madani. Meanwhile, Rawlins and Russo decide to go after Castle, unaware that Madani, Sam Stein (Michael Nathanson) and their DHS team are going after them as part of a decoy operation. A shootout unfolds, in which several SWAT officers and several of Russo's men are killed. As Russo makes his escape from the trap, Stein flanks and corners Russo outside. As Russo is about to be cuffed Russo pulls his concealed assassin knife on Stein. As he bleeds out Madani rushes to save him but as he tries to tell her about Russo the words fail as his breath slips slowly from him. As Madani sits in shock in her bathtub she consoled and helped to wash the blood off her body by Russo. Thanks so much for listening to our Punisher Episode Eight Review Podcast.
