Send us a textIn this lively and unpredictable episode of the Talking Pools Podcast, Andrea and Paulette dive into a mix of wild stories, strange occurrences, and practical pool issues. The episode kicks off with Andrea venting about her ongoing battle with a difficult property manager. He constantly complains about a low salt light that, according to Andrea, has never actually been on. Despite adding a bag of salt, the pool's salt levels still sit at a low 2600 ppm, leading Andrea to suspect there might be a leak. As Andrea tackles this mystery, her dog entertains itself by barking at its own reflection in the mirror—something Paulette can relate to, as her cat plays the same game. The episode takes a detour into bizarre territory when Paulette tells the story of a pool operator who was fired after a failed scam, pocketing $101 in a "poop in the pool" situation. Andrea responds with an even darker tale of a man who drowned his wife in a pool for a hefty £400,000 insurance payout. The hosts quickly shift gears, with Paulette lamenting her broken pool heater and admitting she doesn't clean her own pool. She then shares the health benefits of swimming, a welcome contrast to the rest of the chaos. The conversation flows to a warning from UK authorities, with Andrea sharing how bathers are being cautioned about the risk of infections from swimming pools in other countries. Amid this chaos, Andrea admits she's “fucked her own shit up” and expresses her desire to escape to the Florida Keys. Meanwhile, Paulette envisions 10,000 people packed into a single swimming pool, and Andrea reveals her discovery of a massive inflatable water park called Fury Adventures, floating in the middle of the ocean in Key West.As the episode nears its close, Senator Galavan from New York makes an appearance—via Andrea's retelling of his announcement calling for more swimming pool enclosures to enhance safety. This wild ride of an episode has it all: pool problems, unusual stories, and plenty of humor. Joni Zander from The Galavan YouTube channel is our guest this week on the Solo Women RV Podcast. Joni has a popular YouTube channel where she gives van tours and also shares information to help women get on the road. She shares advice about how to meet community and find work on the road. She also hosts a community to help women RVers and vanlifers connect with one another and owns property in Arizona where she hosts space for women to gather and build out their vans. I really enjoy her perspective and learned a lot from her five years of experience on the road. Key Take-Aways: 1. If you want to get started in YouTube, do collaborations. 2. The focus of The Galavan YouTube channel is to help and inspire women to get on the road by showing them different van builds. 3. It doesn't take a big RV or a fancy build to get out and be on the road. Joni loves to highlight women who have very simple van builds. 4. The most important thing for you to figure out before building or buying a van or RV is to know what your priorities are for living in a van or RV. 5. If you're planning to get into RV or vanlife, really notice where you spend your time in your current living situation to determine what kind of features you'll want in your van. Try limiting yourself to just the amount of space you'll have. 6. If you're looking to meet other women nomads, join Joni's Facebook group (link in the show notes.) And step out of your comfort zone to participate and meet other members. 7. Finally, if you're a woman who has built out a van or mini-van, get in touch with Joni. She'd love to hear from you. While exercise, hydration and diet are all important aspects of health, it can be difficult to hit our goals if we are worried about money. It is something that can cause stress and anxiety to many people, which can impact on our sleep and motivation. With our wallets exhausted from the December spending, this week on Real Health we are looking at how we can get our finances back on track. I'm joined money coach and author, Mrs Smart Money, Kel Galavan. Tackling our spending habits can be really daunting but Kel says this time of year can be the perfect time to decide to take back control: “You have the head space in the first couple of months of the year to get the good systems in place and good habits in place when it comes to money. I think the start of the year to set yourself for the rest of year and going forward, is probably one of the best times to do it.” From facing the money conversation with a partner to “no spend days”, Kel has loads of great tips on how we can all improve our financial health and achieve financial security in 2022. She has developed a system to get your income working for you so that you can take the stress out of money and buy back your freedom and choice, one slice at a time. Kel gives some great examples and tips of how she has been able to save her family hundreds of euros every month on groceries. Our conversation touches on clothing and how you can get rid of things you never wear, organizing things and spending less on current styles. There is a great importance of making sure you put at least a little bit of money aside, even if money is tight, for you and your spouse to spend separately, and then money meant for your family to go and do something fun.About Kel and her business 1:04Activities and keeping track of finances 8:37Saving on groceries 17:20Giving up clothes 24:51Balance 31:23Spending habits and mindset shift 36:46“I think it's really really important, even if money is a bit tight, to find a small amount in the budget every month that each individual parent gets that is their money to spend as they please for something that's just for them. It is time to do a series wrap of Gotham. Now that the season is over and we have had time to reflect on the season and the series as a whole, it is time for you, our Undercover Agents to share. We discuss characters, actors, and storylines. My Series Wrap Thoughts: So here are are my series wrap thoughts. I heard about this series and it was billed as a GCPD centered series. I thought it would be an interesting change of pace and view on things. I came to the series and the podcast and was ready to talk. Season 1 was strong with the other characters. I enjoyed season 1 however, Fish Mooney drew the series down for me. The creators made a role for Jada and it just didn't work. It may have brought viewers to the show having her on it but, for me it didn't work. I also hated Barbara. They didn't know what to do with her and she was annoying. But overall, I really dug it. When asked to become the co-host for season 2, I jumped at the chance. Season 2 of Gotham saw the show flourish. We saw the introduction of Jerome and the cult of the Joker, the Galavan's and so much more. The season hit on all cylinders. It was powerful and made me love the series. Season 3 saw more villains rise and our heroes having to stand firm in the face of the great opposition. We saw the Court of The Owls and our buddy Hugo Strange. Again it was another strong season. Season 4 was flat out amazing. Joker, Professor Pyg, Ra's al ghoul, and Stabby Babs were all fighting to rule the city. Bruce had to take major steps in his journey to be come Batman. Jim was stretched to the breaking point. We had Lee standing up for the the people of the Narrows and Ed/Riddler becoming her love. It was probably my favorite season. Season 5 was, for the most, part very good. I really felt the effects from the fact that they were given an initial episode count and then had it extended. They handled it well, but it was a bit uneven. I felt like the penultimate episode was really the season finale and the last episode was a look ahead. I felt both could have been 2 hours long to cover what needed to happen. Over all, I was happy with the season but, truly wish they had kept Camren as Selina for the last episode. While the show moved more to more of an evolution of Bruce into Batman, the core of the show was always Jim Gordon. He had to be Gotham's defender until Batman could take it all on. We saw a growth of Jim through the series as he went from a new detective fighting the darkness to a commissioner ready to use all of the tools around him to defend and protect the city. Bruce's growth was huge. The weight and calling on his life grew and he thankfully learned much from Alfred and Jim. He still has a way to go to be that fully formed Batman but, he is on his way. The whole cast of characters grew and evolved. I was quite happy with how they were written and acted. I personally like Donal's portrayal of Harvey best out off all of the portrayals of the character. BD Wong's Hugo was wonderful. But the stand outs in my mind are Camren, Robin, Cory and Cameron. These actors had small roles before Gotham but, they grew so much during the series, it was amazing. They inhabited their characters and really shined. I cannot wait to see what they do next. Your Series Wrap Thoughts: You really made this podcast with all of your thoughts through the years. I really wish we could have had series wrap thoughts from all of you. But we did have a great group of folks leave us feedback. It was wonderful to hear what you had to say! Closing Thoughts: I want to say thank you to GSM's co-founder Darrell Darnell for allowing this podcast on the network and for allowing me to be a part. Thank you to Tim Arthur and Ryan Boyles for getting this podcast started in Season 1. Thanks to Karen Lindsay and John McGrail for joining me on the ride ever since. We are grateful to be small part of the Gotham family and the GSM group of shows. But most of all we thank YOU our Undercover Agents for being a part of the community for 5 seasons. You have faithfully left feedback, commented on blog posts and tweets, and been very active in our Facebook group. We are so thankful for you! Some of you have been with the podcast since season 1 episode 1 and some of you found us in season 5. Regardless we are so grateful to have your voices in the community. Podcasting is about connecting people with a shared passion and giving us an out let to share our thoughts. We are so glad we have you! Cougar's Comic Corner: To get you prepared for Batwoman, here are links to volumes 1-6 of Batwoman (New 52). They are a great read and worth your time! Batwoman Vol. 1: Hydrology Batwoman Vol. 2: To Drown the World Batwoman Vol. 3: World's Finest Batwoman Vol. 4: This Blood is Thick Batwoman Vol. 5: Webs Batwoman Vol. 6: The Unknowns News: OK Undercover Agents, now that we have the series wrap complete I have some news for you. As you know, this season of the podcast has been different because our Scarlet Cougar, Karen, has had health issues that have kept her away. Unfortunately they are preventing her from podcasting for the near future. This breaks her heart, and ours! I love podcasting with Karen and it has been rough this season without her voice. I missed her extensive knowledge, in depth analysis, and her personality.  John has been my co-pilot and a great co-host this season. However, he needs to put his full focus on Maid of Steel. So I had to think about things. I have been talking about us covering Batwoman this Fall. I spent the Spring reading the first several volumes of the New 52 introduction of Batwoman. The storylines are powerful and she has some great villains. I think story-wise they will have great material to work with and awesome characters. I fully intend on watching the series to see what they do. I am a bit concerned about if the CW will push the politics and agendas that, to me, draw Supergirl down. I'm afraid it will be even more heavy pushed. That gives me pause. When I podcast on things, I want to be able to come to it with passion and positivity. I just don't know if I can do that for Batwoman. All that to say, Karen and I will not be covering Batwoman on Gotham Undercover. At this point, it is unclear if other hosts on the network will pick it up and cover the show. But stay tuned to the Facebook group. We will offer you a place to discuss Gotham, Batwoman and all things Batman related there. If someone decides to cover Batwoman on GSM you will hear it there first. I will be podcasting with my buddy Wayne on season 2 of Castle Rock on our Castle Rocks Zone here on GSM. Sound Off: What were your series wrap thought? We would love to know! Agradecimentos a toda audiência deste podcast. Edição e narração Carlinhos Alves, na busca por desbravar o mundo imaginário, às vezes real e duro e às vezes poético e belo, abraço e até uma próxima vez.

We begin this week's episode with our spoiler-free thoughts on Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and then on to our Gotham S02E11 Worse Than A Crime Podcast. We discuss our top 5 points about the mid-season finale of Gotham including the gang joining up to take on the Order of St. Dumas, the moral ambiguity of Jim Gordon and  Silver St. Cloud trying her best to get close to Bruce again, but who is manipulating who. Synopsis for our Gotham S02E11 Worse Than A Crime Podcast Directed by   Jeffrey G. Hunt Written by Bruno Heller The Galavan's are after the Waynes and their associates as Tabitha (Jessica Lucas) hunts down Alfred (Sean Pertwee), so Theo (James Frain) abducts Bruce (David Mazouz) from Wayne Manor holding him prisoner until midnight and the time of his sacrifice to cleanse Gotham and restore the family name of Dumas. Meanwhile, Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) wakes up, a fugitive from the law, in an unexpected place and turns to dangerous allies for assistance in tracking down Galavan and Bruce Wayne, despite Leslie Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) failed intervention to try and pursuade him to stop his obsessive pursuit of Galavan. Jim and Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) team up with Penguin (and his gang), Alfred, Selina Kyle and Lucius Fox (Chris Chalk) and move on Galavan's residence where the Order of St Dumas is defeated. In the ensuing fallout Tabitha and Silver St. Cloud (Natalie Alyn Lind) begin to make their escape leaving Theo at the harsh, harsh mercy of Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) and Gordon who take Theo to the docks and murder him, by bat, by gun and finally by umbrella! With the Galavan's seemingly finished as a force in Gotham Jim proposes to Leslie to make amends just as another corpse is delivered to Indian Hill! In post credits: A new dangerously cool villain is seen on the attack in the streets and alleyways of Gotham. Thank you so much for listening to Gotham TV Podcast. Welcome back detectives join us for our Gotham S02E10 Son of Gotham Podcast. This week we chat about Gotham's Season 3 renewal our Top 5 points, an excellent triangle between Silver, Bruce and Selina, a bad ass fight between Alfred and Tabitha and Jim taking down Theo Galavan. Synopsis for our Gotham S02E10 Son of Gotham Podcast Directed by Rob Bailey Written by John Stephens The Order of St Dumas go about their mysterious task throughout Gotham as they set on apparently random victims in a sacrifice to atone Gotham of its sins. As the bodies begin to pile up, Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Harvey Bullock's (Donal Logue) investigation leads them to a secret crypt under Gotham where they learn that the Orders mission is not random but is centered around the son of Gotham...and the Son of Gotham must die. Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz), still going against Alfred's wishes, is kidnapped along with Silver St Cloud (Natalie Alyn Lind) by a man called Tom "The Knife" (Guest Star Tommy Flanagan) apparently working for Wayne Enterprises. Under knife point he manipulates Silver into revealing the name of Bruce's parents' apparent killer, just as Bruce reveals a darker more deceptive trait to his personality. A concerned Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee) grows suspicious of Bruce's whereabouts and searches Theo Galavan's (James Frain) residence, where he is confronted by Tabitha (Jessica Lucas) and seriously wounded in a fight. Elsewhere, the trial of the century sees Galavan acquitted of all charges leveled against him after former Mayor Aubrey James (Richard Kind) states that Penguin had kidnapped, tortured and threatened him to blame Galavan instead. With Theo free he is set to complete his plan to cleanse Gotham as he kidnaps Gordon and makes a visit to Wayne Manor. Thank you so much for listening to Gotham TV Podcast. Gotham Season 2 Episode 2 has now aired in the UK on Monday the 18th of January and we're still in shock at that ending. In this repost of our podcast episode 53 we talk all about Alfred's cockney threat to Lucious Fox, the introduction of the Maniax and their attack on the G.C.P.D. and of course the loss of one of our favourite characters in our Gotham Knock Knock Podcast. Synopsis for our Gotham Knock Knock Podcast - Gotham Season 2 Episode 2. Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) investigates the inmate escape from Arkham Asylum as Theo Galavan (James Frain) plots his revengeful move against Gotham as he not only kidnaps Mayor Aubrey James (Richard Kind) but places the ever more unhinged Jerome (Cameron Monaghan) in charge of the other Arkham escapees, who now go by the name "the Maniax". Meanwhile at Wayne Manor Bruce's quest to unlock the secrets of his father's office leads to fractures between Bruce (David Mazouz) and his faithful butler Alfred (Sean Pertwee) as he smashes Thomas Wayne's computer in an attempt to protect Bruce from the untold story.
