Sasha Sweets grew up in California as a natural hustler — selling candy before moving to drugs, working at a strip club, and always chasing the finer things in life while her father was in prison for part of her childhood — before getting into a scamming operation with the father of her child in her early twenties that produced a federal indictment, 3.5 years in federal prison across California, Kentucky, and Arizona, and over $2 million in restitution. _____________________________________________ #crimenews #prisonstory #truecrimestories #scam _____________________________________________ Thank you to CASH APP for sponsoring this episode: Download Cash App Today: https://click.cash.app/ui6m/6pao71et #CashAppPod Cash App is a financial services platform, not a bank. Firstly, we apologize for Cam's audio. We tried to fix it many times, but the gremlins got the better of us. Cam and The Beast dig into the first week of the Miami Hurricanes' first week of fall camp. Of course, the first topic has to be the contract extension that Mario Cristobal signed. More Years. More Money. Donation back to the school. This is all good! Then it's some position talk, as The Beast tells you he is not a fan of the minutiae of camp, but secretly pays attention to all of it. We start with the DBs. They have a chance to be elite. The depth is there. And could OJ Frederique turn into a shutdown corner? The O-line has a huge upside. Samson Okunlola has been impressing and has been playing left tackle. Could Jackson Cantwell actually start at guard? We don't think so, but one never knows. Darian Mensah is playing like QB 1 and is now fully programmed to give us QB Speak. We like it. In Segment 2, The Beast gets radical. Brian lays out the path forward for Miami to regain its independence as a college football program. Forget the SEC. Forget the Big 10. We don't need your stinking Badgers. Someone get on the horn to Netflix or Amazon or Apple. Finally, Michael Irvin is helping Mamma Fletcher get to every game. She still won't fly, so why not arrive in style in her own customized RV? Oh, and is Fetching Fletchers the best name for a reality video series? Please go check out the great work of Cam and his staff at State Of The U. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Why did medicine become too complex for informal caregiving?Think SWAT operators, air traffic controllers, or combat medics have the most high-stress job in America? Think again. In this episode of The Hero Academy, host Super Dave draws on his 30 years in law enforcement to pull back the curtain on one of the most misunderstood and vital professions on earth: nursing. Beyond the routine vitals and Hollywood medical drama tropes lies a high-stakes discipline built on hyper-vigilance, split-second clinical judgment, and immense cumulative trauma. In this episode, you'll learn:The Stress Reality: Why managing multi-patient crises at 2:00 AM makes bedside nursing one of the most demanding jobs in modern society. The Pioneer's Data: How Florence Nightingale used revolutionary statistics—not just compassion—to slash death rates and invent modern nursing. The First Line of Defense: Why nurses, not doctors, are statistically the primary wall stopping catastrophic medication errors before they reach a patient. The Cost of Caring: The real clinical weight of compassion fatigue and why over 200,000 nurses are projected to leave the field due to burnout.Nurses don't just support the healthcare system—they hold it together. I stopped in to interview Mike Buddie on my recent HEA Road Trip and if you want to see a tour of their facilities watch the YouTube video introduction.Buddie's wisdom is on full display in this interview as he covers practical things like how to get to work by knowing who should be on the list to contact when you get a new AD job. Mike shares his thought process on leaving Army for TCU, who he reached out to for counsel, and how he kept close to the challenges facing ADs outside the academies so that he could speak intelligently and truthfully in an interview. He gives his thoughts on outside industry trends and what traditional administrators like himself can do to stay ahead of the changes to college athletics. Texas is crowded with FBS schools seeking corporate deals and Buddie shares TCU's approach to make Fort Worth and its surrounding communities purple. The central theme of this Hero Academy episode is that the history of body armor is ultimately a story of human adaptation and survival. As the host, Super Dave, puts it: body armor has never just been about stopping a weapon—it's about endurance, managing the environment, and making sure the wearer gets back home. The episode highlights a continuous "arms race" loop: when offensive weapons evolve, defensive armor must adapt, or the wearers die. However, true protection is always a delicate balance between maximizing coverage and maintaining the mobility needed to fight and survive. What the Episode is AboutThe episode traces a chronological timeline of how different civilizations solved the armor equation based on their unique climates, threats, and technologies:Sub-Saharan Africa: Focuses on adapting to extreme heat, utilizing lightweight raw-hide, layered protection, or minimal armor combined with shields to prioritize mobility over heavy bulk.Ancient Egypt: Covers the shift from basic padded protection to bronze metallurgy after facing new external threats around 1650 BCE.The Roman Empire: Highlights the genius of standardization and scale, showing how Rome equipped massive armies with practical, reliable chainmail and segmented iron rather than chasing flashy innovations.Samurai Japan: Explores armor as an expression of personal identity, status, and artistry, which rapidly shifted from boxy archery gear to tighter, denser plates once firearms arrived in the 16th century.Imperial China: Details a thousand-year reliance on lamellar construction (small, overlapping scales) made from materials ranging from rhinoceros hide to advanced metals.Medieval Europe: Examines the absolute peak of pre-industrial metallurgy with full-plate steel suits engineered for incredible articulation and balance. The Modern Era: Breaks down the post-Vietnam shift to advanced composites—specifically how soft Kevlar vests protect against handguns and trauma, while hard ceramic inserts stop high-velocity rifle rounds. The Future: Teases the cutting edge of armor tech, including carbon nanotubes, 3D-printed materials, and even "self-healing" armor that can repair its own structural damage after an impact.Get your Heroic Coaching Blueprint Here:https://a.co/d/01VxW0Bn

Episode Summary Oto sits down with Tamar Edwards, who was born into the Children of God — a nomadic, high-control religious group her parents joined in the late 1970s — and spent her childhood moving through 24 communes across four countries, largely in Thailand, believing the world would end before she reached adulthood. Tamar walks through what daily life inside the group actually looked like, how the cult's fear-based control system worked, and what happened when it disbanded and she was thrown into mainstream society with no schooling and no relationship to money. She traces her path from clowning and balloon-twisting as a teenager, to yoga and nutrition coaching, to intimacy and sexuality coaching, and finally to her current focus on financial sovereignty — framing embodiment, sexuality, and money as the "three pillars" she's spent her adult life healing. She also shares her own experience with suicidal ideation as a child in the group and reflects on what it means to build genuine autonomy after growing up with none. She defines what turned the group into a cult — one unquestioned charismatic leader plus total isolation from the outside world — and describes how members were "seduced by love, then ruled by fear." Her family's economic model was "broke with a purpose": no personal money, no personal wallet, communal living, and constant relocation, which she says left her with a deep scarcity mindset she's had to unlearn as an adult. After the group disbanded when she was a young teen, she built a career arc from clowning and balloon-twisting to yoga/nutrition coaching to intimacy and sexuality coaching, and now studies financial sovereignty — framing embodiment, sexuality, and money as three interconnected "pillars" of healing. She's written a book, Postpartum Care for New Moms Over 35, drawn from her own experience having her son at 40. Pepperdine Athletic Director Tanner Gardner discusses his path from management consulting to college athletics, including leadership roles at Rice before arriving at Pepperdine. He explains how Pepperdine's Christian mission shapes hiring decisions, why cultural fit is essential, and how the university's faith-based identity influences the student-athlete experience. Gardner also shares why he has been intentional about studying and working at places like Stanford, Harvard, Rice and Pepperdine. He offers his perspective on what schools like Pepperdine may look like 10 years from now with the changing college athletics landscape, and discusses whether hiring head coaches will remain one of the athletic director's primary responsibilities. Dan Bartholomae and I cover a lot in this conversation because there has been a lot going on with the Broncos. Bartholomae starts off explaining how WMU is going to play a hockey game at their football stadium next year and turning it into a weeklong community opportunity to get on the ice. We then talk about the new Kalamazoo Event Center that will be the new home of the WMU hockey and basketball programs. Bartholomae takes me behind-the-scenes of their men's basketball coaching search and that naturally leads into a discussion about scheduling games with the expansion of March Madness. This week, we're spending time with Melvin James Kaminsky, better known to the universe as comedy icon and director Mel Brooks! After lampooning westerns, monster movies, and world history, Brooks turned his signature sense of humor to the cinematic sci-fi outings of Star Wars, Alien, 2001, and Planet of the Apes. With an all-star cast including Rick Moranis, John Candy, Joan Rivers, Bill Pullman, and Daphne Zuniga, the film was born from a gentleman's agreement between Brooks and Star Wars creator George Lucas. In return for certain concessions (rule number one: no merchandising) from Brooks, Lucas agreed to handle some of the more technical aspects of the film through his special effects company, Industrial Light & Magic. The result was a cult hit, almost as beloved as the properties it parodies. You can earn half a million dollars a year and still have nothing left by the end of the month. That's not a theory. A Goldman Sachs study found 40% of people making over $500,000 are living paycheck to paycheck. The income isn't the problem. The identity is. George Kamel, #1 national bestselling author of Breaking Free from Broke and co-host of The Ramsey Show, has taken thousands of calls from people who earned great money and lost it all. People who confused looking rich with building wealth. Couples who kept separate bank accounts right up until the marriage fell apart. His take: debt is never just a math problem. It's a behavior problem. And no budget in the world sticks until you decide what kind of person you're going to be with money. In this conversation, George breaks down why buy now pay later apps are engineered to increase your cart size by 40%, why prediction markets like Polymarket are doing to young men what gambling apps did to the last generation, and why the moment someone calls a financial decision an "opportunity," they've usually already started justifying a terrible one. The path to financial peace is simpler than you've been told. And it starts with creating friction, not removing it. Garrett Klassy has been the AD at Fresno State for almost 2 years and is leading the Bulldogs into the Pac-12 this summer. Expect to hear a lot in this interview, beginning with the evolving profile of the FBS AD position. I asked Garrett if he thinks FBS ADs will always be the key decision-maker for head coaching hires throughout the department or if that will maybe fall off to a deputy AD in the future as the job becomes less day-to-day involvement and more of a big picture role. Klassy is also one of several former ADs that left the chair for a P4 deputy AD job that eventually launched him back into the AD chair at a different level. Has this trend become the norm? He then talks about the relaunch of the Pac-12 and why it makes sense for Fresno State. The conversation ends with some advice for those that may feel like they came up in one area of college athletics and feel typecasted and want to still progress towards the AD job. 0:00 Introduction1:27 Why Garrett Klassy thinks he was the right person at Fresno State two years ago10:14 Will ADs always be the decision-maker on head coaching hires?17:00 ADs becoming Deputies to launch into new AD chair position20:15 Relaunch of the Pac-12 discussion26:55 Pivoting after feeling typecasted to progress towards AD chairAD Vantage empowers athletic directors with comprehensive staff data, performance analytics, and AI-powered candidate insights to make smarter hiring, compensation, and retention decisions in an era where every dollar counts. Jovan Overshown has been at Baylor since 2017 and now serves as the Deputy AD/COO providing strategic direction for the athletic department. Jovan shares early in the conversation how she has learned to embrace new opportunities in revenue generation and what industries she looks to for inspiration and creative ideas that can be applied to Baylor. We talk about Leadership Waco and how programs like this can be vital for knowing and appreciating the people in a community. I also felt it was important to ask Jovan about what it's like showing up every day as a P4 Deputy AD/COO for the staff and what mindset she has to have to keep up with the changes. Jamaal Walton is a former Keydet football team captain and came back as the VMI Athletic Director in May 2024. Walton shares what it's like coming back as the AD at your alma mater and what others should consider if the same opportunity comes up. Walton then explains the situation that VMI was in when they opted-out of the House settlement and why they decided to now opt-in. The conversation switches to challenges and opportunities at a military academy and then Walton takes me inside his thought process and decision in hiring a new football head coach. I finish the conversation by asking Jamaal how an AD balances the challenges and expectations of winning at a military academy like VMI and I think everyone in higher education can learn from his answer.0:00 Introduction1:00 Talk about VMI5:45 Why he chose VMI out of High School9:50 Advice for Potential Alma Mater Opportunities15:10 House Settlement Opt-Out & Opt-In18:10 Challenges and Opportunities at VMI28:05 Football Head Coach Search35:35 Balancing Challenges and Expectations of Winning at VMIAD Vantage empowers athletic directors with comprehensive staff data, performance analytics, and AI-powered candidate insights to make smarter hiring, compensation, and retention decisions in an era where every dollar counts. A large Danish study of 1.5 million children found no link between taking Tylenol (acetaminophen) during pregnancy and autism risk. Autism rates were actually lower—1.8%—among children exposed in utero, versus 3.0% in unexposed peers. The findings reinforce similar reviews and contradict former President Trump’s warnings and government caution regarding prenatal Tylenol use. The first trailer for “Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money” has been released, poking fun at modern Star Wars films and franchise overload. Well, another republican president has started another war in the middle east. Or maybe it was Israel? No story told in public regarding this "special military operation" (this is what you are required to call it unless you're the mad king or his drunken secretary of war) makes much sense. So what do we know for certain? There's a lot of aerial bombing/strikes and it's all extremely expensive. At least the department of homeland security is doing a horrible job....yeah, I said it.Stay safe, stay strong,-T

Tom Logue - February 1st 2026 Money reveals who's really on the throne of your life—and Jesus invites us to trade control for something far better. In this message from The King & His Kingdom series, we continue through Matthew 19:23–30, where Jesus confronts the deep spiritual power of money. Using vivid illustrations—from MRI scans to investment returns—Tom shows how wealth can quietly replace God as king, and why Jesus says it's hard for the rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. This sermon explores why money is not evil, but dangerous; how it exposes our true allegiances; and why shifting our trust from wealth to Jesus is humanly impossible—but fully possible with God. Most importantly, we're invited to see the kingdom of heaven as the greatest investment imaginable: one that yields eternal life, true freedom, and a hundredfold return. Send us a textBuyers don't pay top dollar for a founder's heroics; they pay for a business that runs without the founder. We sit down with M&A advisor John Martinka to map the moves that turn people power into enterprise value, from reducing owner dependency to proving that your management team and systems deliver results without you. If you've ever wondered when to start planning an exit, how to treat addbacks, or what actually spooks a lender, this conversation is your field guide.John explains why clean, believable financials are worth far more than the taxes you think you're saving, and how sloppy addbacks quietly shave six figures off your outcome. We go deep on the HR and compliance traps—especially contractor misclassification and state-specific rules—that can crater a deal late in diligence. Then we dig into the real engine of valuation: people. Learn how to build redundancy, design retention bonuses that keep key talent through integration, and communicate culture so employees trust the transition instead of fearing it.We also lay out the biggest value drags—coasting on past wins, customer or supplier concentration, and penny-wise decisions that starve growth—and offer practical fixes you can deploy this quarter. Whether you'll sell to an outside buyer, a team, or family, the same principle holds: good businesses let sellers control the deal. Get the playbook to turn an exit into a legacy, not just a liquidity event.Subscribe for more unfiltered strategies, share with someone building something big, and leave a quick review with your top takeaway. Drawing on decades of experience and his book Exit with Style, Grace and More Money, John discusses the dangers of owner dependency, the value of strategic delegation, and the process of transforming overwhelmed owners into visionary leaders. Through vivid stories and actionable steps, he shows how creating robust management teams and sound systems not only increases your company's value but also prepares it for a seamless, rewarding exit. John dives deep into real-world challenges and misconceptions around selling a business, from red flags that scare off buyers to the critical role of motivation, relationships, and trust in getting deals done.
