In this episode we will talk about the question “Should I commit suicide?” for the second time. This time the focus is on internal struggles or - in other words - is the call coming from the inside? Or “Does the enemy wants you to think the call is coming from the inside so you leave the house and run into the enemies arms?” We first start with depression and then the hidden outside influence. I cover next week sickness, mourning and the conclusion.Transcript: https://www.johannadraconis.com/podcast/episode-125/ Contact: contactme@johannadraconis.com   And obligatory for this topic:Useful site: https://www.speakingofsuicide.com/United StatesNational Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 1-800-273-8255 (TALK) Veterans press 1 to reach specialised support. Join us as we stumble through what it takes to record in two different places, answer questions about when we might come back with Season 3, talk about how we got through 2020, and recommend a few things that we enjoyed and/or helped us cope. We also dunk on South Dakota a little too much (Sorry, SD!), are baffled by the thought of a whole town in one building (Hi, Whittier!), update Shannon on the status of the TRC TV show, hint at the plans we had for covering Maggie’s YA graphic novel Swamp Thing, and debate whether the “X” in XOXO is a hug or a kiss. NOTE: We apologize for the quality of Shannon’s audio, we do believe we have worked out the kinks for future recordings! Content Warning: In this episode, mental health issues are discussed. Also discussed: sexual assault and other potentially triggering topics. After the recent deaths of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain, both of us wanted to talk about our experience with mental health, as we felt very affected by the news of both Spade and Bourdain. Both of us take turns sharing our past and current struggles on mental health. This is one of our more deep and heavy episodes, both of us feeling quite an emotional hangover after this one. Our hope with this episode is to spread awareness, normalize mental illness, and to make sure people who are struggling do not feel alone. That’s what has helped us—when others have shared their experience. We hope that by us sharing our stories here we can add to the many who are spreading awareness about mental illness and the importance of mental health. He's also really good at the comparison game and has recently come to some revelations about how to overcome these feelings. He gives some great advice on finding self worth and being THE BEST YOU.
