Jesus Followers Can Personally Talk to God, the Universe's Creator, About Issues Like His Will for You; but Do You? MESSAGE SUMMARY: As a Jesus Follower, you have a personal relationship with God, the Creator of the Universe; and you can talk to God like you talk to your father. Remember God loves you. Imagine climbing up into His lap and imagine Him wrapping His arms around you – He is God your loving father. As God tells you in 2 Samuel 7:14-15: “I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son. Jesus Gave His Followers the Earth's Most Intimate Relationship – a Personal Relationship with God, the Universe's Creator MESSAGE SUMMARY: The idea of an intimate relationship is to truly know someone; and you are given the privilege of knowing God, the Creator of the Universe. You are given the privilege of being close to Him and to have a personal and dynamic relationship with the God of the universe. Jesus Followers Can Personally Talk to God, the Universe's Creator, About Issues Like His Will for You; but Do You? MESSAGE SUMMARY: As a Jesus Follower, you have a personal relationship with God, the Creator of the Universe; and you can talk to God like you talk to your father. Remember God loves you. Imagine climbing up into His lap and imagine Him wrapping His arms around you – He is God your loving father. Jesus Gave His Followers the Earth's Most Intimate Relationship – a Personal Relationship with God, the Universe's Creator MESSAGE SUMMARY: The idea of an intimate relationship is to truly know someone; and you are given the privilege of knowing God, the Creator of the Universe. You are given the privilege of being close to Him and to have a personal and dynamic relationship with the God of the universe. Welcome everyone to the 25th episode of Professor P's Podcast. I am bringing you another dose of Elixir, the energic power. The topic for this show is GOD, the universe, A TRUE UNDERSTADNING. #truthbetold This episode is going to explain to you the difference between God and the universe. You are going to need to have paper, a pen, and place to write. Because we as humans need to measure things to understand them, I am going to have you do some measuring so you can understand the size of the universe verse the vastness of God. Replacing God with the universe has become a standard trope in popular culture. Too many are afraid to even say God because they don't want to offend anyone. But you must know the truth between the two. One is the creator aka God, and one is the creation aka universe. As beings made in the image of God, we humans don't need to look to the universe for ultimate meaning or try to create it for ourselves. God has already given it to us. From the beginning, we were designed to glorify Him and to enjoy Him forever. We are eternal beings who wear a human suit. That one day we will take off. The universe is His universe, and He rules it with perfect wisdom and absolute power. To replace God with His creation is to give it the honor and worship that belongs solely to Him. I simply cannot do that. And it really was in my heart to bring to you all some knowledge and wisdom regarding this topic. You don't say God because of pop culture and more so because you are made at God. But what you really are mad at is religion. You are mad at man. I truly believe God's heart aches for us due to all the evil religion and religious trauma we have endured. I encourage you to get some paper, your pen, and spot to listen to this powerful episode with an open mind and heart. It's the first book club episode of the Keep Looking Up podcast! In case you missed it, we are doing a community book club and the first book was “Ask and it is Given” by Ester and Jerry Hicks. As I was recording this episode, I realized I picked quite a heady book that may seem mystical and woo woo but I explained the science behind it and the impact this book has had on me. Here are some of the biggest takeaways from it!     ◦    You are co-creating with God/The Universe to make your perfect life. Any desire that is on your heart was out there a purpose and all you have to do is program your mindset to believe that you are worthy and able to receive those desires.      ◦    There is a three step process to manifesting and the second step is where people usually get stuck and don't see their desires come to fruition. The first step is to simply state the desire. The second step is to keep up the thoughts matching it. This means believing that it is already yours but more importantly, that you are worthy of receiving these blessings. If you don't believe that you're deserving of these manifestations, your brain will always find a way to prohibit you from accomplishing them. The last step is to let go, not fixate on it (because your focus will be on the lack of whatever it is you're trying to manifest) and let the universe/God set everything else up for you, including the timing and people involved.      ◦    Road trip analogy - if you know you're on the way during a 14 hour road trip, you can choose to say “Are we there yet?” and fixate on how uncomfortable you are or how your friends are going to arrive at the destination before you. Or you could…enjoy the ride. You know you're going to end up at your destination at the time you're going to be there, no use in stressing about the process.The ten year anniversary of my dad's passing is next month so to honor him, I am interviewing influential people in his life for every episode in the month of July. Dutch People Don't Talk about Their Spiritual Beliefs, But It's Starting to Change. Is the Universe Governed by an Impartial Force Called Love or the God of Christianity? Luuk Elkhuizen is Dutch, the youngest boy in a family of four boys from the Friesland area of the Netherlands, and an atheist from a family that has been atheistic for three generations. He joins Scott to talk about how religion was never on his mind growing up... until now. Dutch society in many ways is so far post Christian that many young people are starting to get curious about what Christianity is all about. But they find it hard to find someone who actually believes. Luuk, to his knowledge, can only remember one guy growing up who genuinely believed and tried to defend his beliefs to his largely atheistic friend group. Now Luuk has started to read the Bible with Scott and is coming up with his own opinion about who Jesus was and what the Bible is all about. For people of faith, how would you articulate what it means to live by love? Jesus Followers Can Personally Talk to God, the Universe's Creator, About Issues Like His Will for You; but Do You? MESSAGE SUMMARY: As a Jesus Follower, you have a personal relationship with God, the Creator of the Universe; and you can talk to God like you talk to your father. Remember God loves you. Imagine climbing up into His lap and imagine Him wrapping His arms around you – He is God your loving father. As God tells you in 2 Samuel 7:14-15: “I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son. When he commits iniquity, I will discipline him with the rod of men, with the stripes of the sons of men, but my steadfast love will not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away from before you.". You need to start talking to Him as the best dad there could ever be. Talk to God, regularly, about your life; your concerns; and your needs. Mary Robinson and Brenda Winkle grew up in the same small town of Chadron, Nebraska. They reconnected through social media several years ago and have been in touch since. Mary recently published her new book, Seed, Stem, Bloom: Lessons from My Faith-Led Journey through CANcer. Mary is a teacher of the visually impaired and a certified orientation and mobility specialist. She is the mother to four - 2 boys and 2 girls. Mary was 38 in 2014 and nearly done with a 3-year-long project fundraising for a sensory courtyard for kids with special needs when she started to feel terrible. She was irritable, got short of breath going up the stairs, and had a little sore in her nose. Mary had a sinus infection, and while receiving medical care for the sinus infection, she asked her doctor for bloodwork. The blood work came back as pancytopenia. This is a condition where there is a lower than usual number of red and white blood cells and platelets in the blood. But they didn't know why Mary had pancytopenia. The next day an oncologist diagnosed her with acute myeloid leukemia. Mary was told she had a 50% chance of surviving. Mary knew she was in the 50% who would survive this cancer. She immediately told her husband she was going to survive. She had a mission to raise her children, to see them into adulthood. It wasn't easy, but Mary recovered. Then three years later, she relapsed. At that point. Mary had a stem cell transplant. Mary is now cured and cancer-free. Mary's book follows her journey through chemo treatments. It comes from the entries she wrote on Caring Bridge during her time receiving those treatments. This book isn't just for cancer patients. It's for anyone going through a hard time. Here are the big takeaways from this episode: Listen to your body. When you know something is off, it's important to get medical care. Even though it can be scary to go to the doctor, not knowing is scarier. It's not necessary to be positive all the time. It's ok to feel the big feelings and cry, then find the optimism. Watch for and notice the signs of hope. Guided meditation, deep breathing exercises, daily devotionals, visualizations, positive affirmations, music (Mary's favorite is upbeat Christian music) all are great tools to use to feel better during tough times. Ask for signs to know God (The Universe, Source, Creator) is with you. She's a mom, wife, sister, and daughter. In 2014, this always-on-the-go woman had a diagnosis that not only changed her perspective on life, it deepened her commitment to the one she already had. A bone marrow biopsy confirmed that Mary had acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Relapse in 2017 determined that an allogeneic stem cell transplant was the only option for long-term survival. During her fight for life, Mary was introduced to Reiki and became a Reiki Master/Teacher, which led to becoming a Healing Touch Practitioner. Mary is the author of Seed, Stem, Bloom: Lessons from My Faith-Led Journey through CANcer. Mary's story and her life gives hope, reassurance, and sheds light on what an individual can do with an optimistic mindset and faith.
