Scientists uncovered an asteroid of immense scientific importance—a colossal celestial entity. As massive as an aircraft carrier and towering as high as the iconic Empire State Building, this cosmic titan was later named Bennu. Remarkable for much more than its size, Bennu belonged to a rare breed of asteroids capable of revealing the essence of life itself. But just as Bennu became a beacon of promise, researchers identified a grave danger. Hurtling through space, it threatens to collide with our planet on September 24, 2182. Leading the expedition was Dr. Dante Lauretta, the Principal Investigator of NASA's audacious OSIRIS-REx Asteroid Sample Return Mission. Tasked with unraveling Bennu's mysteries, his team embarked on a daring quest to retrieve a precious sample from the asteroid's surface — one that held the potential to not only unlock the secrets of life's origins but also to avert an unprecedented catastrophe 1953

In this text Paul paints a picture of humanity in its rejection of God and of what is true. To be sure, the picture is dark and disheartening. Society disintegrates. Community breakdown. Freedom from Gods way leads not to joy but devastation. But even in this dark text there is a glimmer of hope. God has planted within each person a recognition of the wrongness of sin, and as Paul will go on to assert later in this letter, Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. As dark as this text is, in Jesus there is hope and light!
No, the other D-word (guess who wrote that one! :) In the first episode of this mini-series, we are talking about divorce. Hurtling into middle age, divorce seems to be popping up, silently but more frequently around us. We talk about the how we saw divorce in our own families growing up and how we think about divorce now. When do we work through it? When is enough enough? Where are our bright lines and non-negotiables? And what about the kiddos? Even though we are all thankful that divorce is a more viable option for many women (and men) in terrible relationships, deciding to get divorced and actually getting divorced seems anything but straightforward.

RNIB Connect Radio's Toby Davey is joined again by Vidar Hjardeng MBE, Inclusion and Diversity Consultant for ITV News across England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands for the next in his regular Connect Radio theatre reviews. This week Vidar was reviewing straight from a triumphant season in London's West End, Michael Frayn's celebrated comedy Noises Off at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre starring Lisa Goddard and Matthew Kelly on Saturday 2 September at 2.30pm with description by Professional Audio Describer Julia Grundy. Toby began by asking Vidar whether Noises Off is the ultimate comedy of theatrical chaos and confusion as some critics have been saying. About Noises Off: One of the greatest British comedies ever written is currently touring the country direct from a triumphant West End season. Michael Frayn's celebrated play serves up a riotous double bill, a play within a play. Starring Liza Goddard, Matthew Kelley and Simon Shepherd, Hurtling along at breakneck speed, Noises Off follows the on and offstage antics of a touring theatre company as they stumble their way through the fictional farce, Nothing On. From the shambolic final rehearsals before opening night in Weston-super-Mare, to a disastrous matinee in Ashton-under-Lyne seen entirely, and hilariously silently, from backstage, before we share their final, brilliantly catastrophic performance in Stockton-on-Tees. ‘Lindsay Posner's miraculously choreographed revival is proof that Noises Off has lost none of its power to reduce adults to hysterical, helpless wrecks.' A lone astronaut. An impossible mission. An ally he never imagined.Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the earth itself will perish.Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it.All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company. His crewmates dead, his memories fuzzily returning, Ryland realizes that an impossible task now confronts him. Hurtling through space on this tiny ship, it's up to him to puzzle out an impossible scientific mystery-and conquer an extinction-level threat to our species. And with the clock ticking down and the nearest human being light-years away, he's got to do it all alone.Or does he?It was great fun this week to record with Mark Shapiro, host of the pheomenonally successful podcast Explore the Space https://www.explorethespaceshow.com/ which has a mission of "Examining the interface between healthcare & society, with thought leaders from across the spectrum."This was one of the first Sci-Fi genre novels I've ever picked up and I admit I was well out of my comfort zone with a lot of the theoretical physics (which Mark tells me I don't need to understand, just believe). Project Hail Mary is at its heart a book about connection and about the value of saving our planet, and humanity. I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation about the amazing community of practice that is #MedTwitter, the joy of reading, accidental CPD, equity, climate change and so much more.Follow Mark on Twitter: https://twitter.com/ETSshow

What do you get when you mix an alien with jazz hands, too many scientific references, and a hint of cannibalism? A really tough read. Project Hail Mary follows Ryland Grace, the sole survivor on a spaceship where he can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. Hurtling through space on this tiny ship, it's up to him to puzzle out an impossible scientific mystery—and conquer an extinction-level threat to our species. And with the clock ticking down and the nearest human being light-years away, he's got to do it all alone…or does he? Our Sci-fi expert, Ella Kopeikin, joins me today to talk about this hot mess of a 400-page book we had to endure. In this episode we cover: Why we REALLY disliked this book (some would say hate) Why the necessity of an alien doing jazz hands was beyond us How this book has 4.5 stars on Goodreads…just, how?! Open your book and press play on a podcast episode that will leave you squirming and red in the face for all the wrong reasons. Mentioned in the Pairings section of the podcast: Space Force (TV Show) The Martian (Book) Gravity (Movie) 2001: A Space Odyssey (Book) Guardians of the Galaxy (Movie) Real Genius (Movie) Regular Show (TV Show) Wine Pairings: Moon X and any gin, because Ella hates gin *** Once you're done listening, hop onto our Instagram and TikTok @rwreadspodcast to give us your thoughts on the discussion and the book.
