This week we're talking about grief and creating a registered charity in midlife. My guests are Justine Silver and Eileen Jadd, founders of Good Grief: Bereavement Healing Services in Toronto, ON Canada. Justine and Eileen are sisters who were both looking for a way to make an impact and give back in some meaningful way when they were in their 40s. When Justine's husband passed away unexpectedly at only 44 years old, they became extremely aware of how difficult it was to navigate the system for help when grieving. Together, they decided to do something to improve the situation and created a registered charity that promotes health for grieving adults by providing referrals to essential healing support services, including healthcare professionals, educational programming, and community resources. Frizz and Bob sit down with the man behind most of your current and new favorite desert and doom rock bands, Jadd Shickler, while we enjoy Hibiki Harmony. Join us from his early beginnings during the 90s tech boom, becoming a label and branding powerhouse, some of the snazziest vinyl we've ever seen, and all things about the genre he literally helped create.
Honored to chat with Jadd Shickler, CEO of Blues Funeral Recordings, and vocals in Blue Heron among many other projects over the years within the stoner metal genre. (There are some technical difficulties, but it smooths out after about 15 minutes, stick with it! You won't be disappointed.) We talk about some of the earlier days of stoner rock, creating his own label in 1997, signing bands like Nebula, Lowrider, Atomic Bitchwax and much, much more! We also play a record label edition of "Real or Fuzzed"! Check out Blues Funeral Recordings at https://www.bluesfuneral.com Also thanks to Bastard Blues for the intro music, Bastard Blues Vol. 1! Jadd joins us today to talk all things wrastlin'! First, we get to hear a little bit more about what Jadd has going now with his own radio network and wrestling podcast. This guy records 3 or 4, hour long, live radio shows EVERY day! check out the entire network here: www.jabroninetwork.com. Make sure you find him on Facebook to be notified when the live shows are airing! We talk then about how the WWE has really been the guinea pig for holding live events without fans, and what that might tell us about the other major sports transitioning as well... The majority of the episode then goes into us talking and reliving some of the wildest and best memories we have of the WWE. Mostly the outrageous story lines surfacing around the Attitude Era, and what a remarkable time that was to be alive Enjoy!

“Things aren’t as easy as just snapping your fingers, you have to work at it.”-Jadd MartinezOften the simplicity of putting one foot in front of the other can seem to magically solve almost all of our problems. However, it takes someone who is deeply connected to that truth of running to remind us of it. That someone is Jadd Martinez, a runner familiar with both the day in, day out rhythm of training and the wonder of grand adventures like the Grand Slam of Ultras (four of the oldest 100 mile trail runs,Old Dominion 100, Western States 100, Vermont 100, Leadville Trail 100, and Wasatch Front 100, ran in a year), which he completed in 2016. Jadd and I met to discuss this truth, and many other topics, at his beautiful property in Arroyo Grande, where we also went for a run and hung out at his house. On today’s episode we delve into his story, the benefits of running consistently, learning from discomfort, working with the voices in our heads that tell us to stop when it hurts, learning from failure, engaging with nature, his life as a homesteader, gardening, staying healthy, and more.AUM,Jarod ContrerasFind Jadd:jaddgottheruns.com/Instagram: instagram.com/jaddgottheruns/Twitter: twitter.com/JaddgottherunsFacebook: facebook.com/jadd.martinezSupport Touching the Trail:touchingthetrail.com/donate targetreleaserecovery.comFind Touching the Trail: touchingthetrail.comTouching the Trail Weekly: eepurl.com/bEENNPInstagram: @touchingthetrail instagram.com/touchingthetrailTwitter: @touchthetrail twitter.com/touchthetrailFacebook: Touching the Trail facebook.com/touchingthetrail

We also talk about life after an degree in accounting, new-job-jitters and his side project: Mistaken For Strangers and the incredible success it has had in its infantcy. Enjoy.
