“Often, one of the big reasons churches eventually close or church plants never get off the ground is due to their financial viability.” Dr. Jay Moon, author of “Missional Vibrancy and Financial Viability” and professor at Asbury Seminar, describes his MINCE approach, providing effective financial and funding approaches for churches in financial distress. “I will never forget the day in March 2022 when my Doctor said to me; Jay you have cancer would you like to get a scan so you know what you're up against? My journey in metabolic health began in 2008, and the 15 years of experience gave me the confidence to say no thank you, I know what to do. Nine months after my original diagnosis during a follow up examination my doctor looked at me and said that's amazing the tumor is completely gone.”

Travis, Jay Moon & Bud Simon keep the conversation going with tips on how to share the good news of Jesus in a diverse world. Travis, Jay, & Bud discuss their book, Intercultural Evangelism, and talk through some of the mindset shifts that need to occur for us to share Jesus effectively with those who come from different cultural backgrounds. They discuss four cultural operating systems that shape how people think: innocence/guilt, honor/shame, fear/power, and throw a new one into the mix: indifference/belonging w/purpose-specifically identifying the challenges at work in our post-everything, identity-obsessed, desire-to-belong-world. Drawing upon their experiences as missionaries, Jay Moon and Bud Simon act as guides along the path of faith, showing us how to share Jesus in a pluralistic world that is increasingly unfamiliar with the Christian faith. This insightful, practical conversation will decrease the cringe factor and increase your confidence as you share Jesus with those in your everyday world! These are uncertain and difficult times. How can we find entrepreneurial revenue streams as church planters that are both missional and monetized? Join us for an interview with Dr. Jay Moon, a professor of Church Planting and Evangelism and the director of the Office of Faith, Work, and Economics at Asbury Theological Seminary to hear more about his insights into entrepreneurial church planting. In March of 1739, John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, engaged in "field preaching" for the first time after being encouraged by his friend and fellow preacher George Whitefield. Instead of preaching his sermon from a pulpit, Wesley went out from the church and preached in the open air to those who didn't have the time or money to sit in a pew and hear the good news. Thousands of people, mainly those struggling with poverty, came to hear him preach that first week and the revival of Methodism was born as the good news became real in the hearts of those who heard about God's love and grace. Church planters are modern day "field preachers" who go out from the established church into the community where they proclaim good news to those who need it most. This podcast is a series of interviews and stories from modern-day Methodist field preachers who will make you laugh, cry, and think more deeply about how and where we are called to share God's love and grace.

On this week... It's our 2 year anniversary! Man, it's flown by. Even with some hiccups and changes along the way, I'm super proud of where the show is at now and I still look forward to putting together each episode every week. I thank all those who enjoy listening in every week and share the same love for this music as I do. But what I am absolutely most proud of is the possibility that someday, someone, will stumble upon all these mixes and instantly be embraced with a splendor of amazing Korean music. The whole reason I started the show was because I wanted to delve deeper into the Kpop/Kmusic world and share my findings with everyone. Anyway, we have an extended episode today in celebration of this day. And it will be posting a day early. So thank you so much again for listening and most of all....enjoy! She's coming fresh off a new album last month and I finally was able to give it a listen...and damn...I missed out on something great all this time. Annyeong Ya'll! So much good music has released recently! On this week's show, we have new stuff from Girls' Generation, Primary, CLC, more. I was in a lot of different moods this week and I think that'll show in this week's mixtape as there is a little bit of everything. First things first: The Girls Are Back. Girls' Generation has comeback with their 6th album entitled, "Holiday Night," and boiiiii am I loving it. The album does seem to have a more modern, mature sound that some may not be used to hearing from SNSD, but I think it's great. Some of the girls even helped write on the album. I played a few of my favorite joints from that album this week including the two main releases "Holiday" & "All Night." And if haven't already, go check out the 10th anniversary mix I did for Girls' Generation. It's a great way to go down memory lane for longtime SONEs, or a great history lesson for those not familiar with SNSD's work. We also got a new drop from legendary producer Primary. His latest release is called, "Shininryu," which roughly translates to "new people." The name fits as he features some of the best up and coming Korean artists out there such as Sumin, Sam Kim, OFA, pH-1, & Car, The Garden, all of whom are frequent to the show. Definitely go check this release out if you enjoy the tracks I've played on this week's show. Besides all of that, I tried to mix it up a little bit this week with some more unique sounding Kpop releases. I've been playing the hell out of that new CLC "Where Are You?" It's great how these girls get better with every comeback and continue to surprise me. I also threw in some acoustic live performances and covers from G.Soul, Chancellor, Jooyoung, & K.Will. And added some softer jazz influenced stuff as well. I just tried to go all over the map with this one so expect a journey. There are a lot of investing platforms out there, but CircleUp has carved out a very lucrative space by choosing to focus on consumer goods and retail ventures. The company is growing rapidly and so far has helped more than 120 companies to raise capital.I talk to Jay Moon, CircleUp’s Director of Marketing, about how rigorously they evaluate companies before allowing them onto the CircleUp platform and the results they have seen so far. In addition, we touch on the potential impact of the JOBS Act Title III rules that were recently approved by the SEC. Jay also tells us about an innovative new service CircleUp is offering, which addresses the biggest pain point we see at Early Investing.
