Brittany Kennell is a Canadian country singer who packed her bags over 10 years ago to complete her studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston and then spent 8 years in the writing streets of Nashville. Brittany became the first and only Canadian to be on NBC “The voice” when country superstar Blake Shelton encouraged her to perform Sheryl Crow's song called “Strong Enough”. She made it to the knockout round singing Shania Twain's “You're Still the One” with Miley Cyrus as her mentor. While in Nashville, Brittany has written and played with some of music city's finest: Maren Morris, Carly Pearce, Jillian Jacqueline, The Reklaw's and many others. Currently living in Montreal, Brittany has sung for the Montreal Canadiens, Grand Prix F1 and the Montreal Impacts. She has recently launched a new Album called “I Ain't a Saint”. Se llama Jillian Jacqueline y entre las pocas canciones que ya ha publicado está la interesante “God bless this mess” (que Dios bendiga este desastre, qué apropiado para lo que vemos estos días en EEUU). Hasta no hace tanto, llevar la palabra “Dios” en el título de una canción suponía que no ibas a sonar en la radio. Les pasó a The Beach Boys con “God Only Knows” una de las canciones clave en un disco clave en la historia de la música: Pet Sounds. Con ella se atreve hoy el amigo de Pino. Brian Wilson hizo ese disco obsesionado por lo que acababa de escuchar en el Rubber Soul de The Beatles. Pero hubo efecto boomerang, porque cuando Lennon y McCartney escucharon “God Only Knows”, decidieron que el Sgt Pepper's tendría que ser algo más, y metieron a última hora en Revolver una canción inspirada en la de Wilson: “Here, There and Everywhere”. Años después McCartney hizo una versión para su película “Recuerdos a Broad Street”. Y hablando de películas… esta semana hemos sabido que la surrealista rueda de prensa que el abogado de Trump, Rudy Giuliani, dio para insistir en el fraude electoral a la misma hora en que se reconocía la victoria de Biden, tendrá su propia película: Four Seasons Total Documentary.
