Colt and David sit down with singer/songwriter Hannah Ellis.  Curb Records recording artist Hannah Ellis' journey – and world – is one all can feel at home in. The Campbellsville, Kentucky-native's voice - a mix of favorite flannel, sparkling pink wine and welcome - is the friend we always wanted. Whether pouring from a car radio or your phone, the act named to Rolling Stone's “Artist To Watch” list reminds you big leaps often come as a series of small steps when no one is looking. Having paid for her University of Kentucky degree with her full-ride scholarship, she – with the full support of her family – started chasing her dreams. Like so many, that meant a trip to The Voice on NBC, a self-financed EP, and moving to Nashville to begin the endless rounds of writers nights, meetings, making friends, and trying to find your way. Hannah paid her dues, kept her focus and kept moving towards something she was sure she felt and knew was right. The fresh-faced songwriter has since written songs recorded by artists, and been featured as a vocalist on songs, spanning multiple genres, including: Russell Dickerson, Carly Pearce, for KING & COUNTRY, Danielle Bradbery, and Francesca Battestelli. The magnetic artist, who made her Grand Ole Opry debut on Sept 28th, 2023, has toured with Gavin DeGraw, Dwight Yoakam, Carly Pearce, Martina McBride, Billy Currington, Jake Owen and many others, and has toured as part of the CMT “Next Women of Country” Tour.Website: www.hannahellismusic.comFacebook: www.facebook.com/hannahellismusicInstgram: www.instagram.com/hannahgreyellisTwitter (X): www.twitter.com/hannahgreyellisTikTok: www.tiktok.com/@hannahgreyellisYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/hannahgreyellis/videosSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2X0AxEXX0KGKIhMxo1WvjQSend us a textSupport the Show.Check out our socials and follow us!Facebook: www.facebook.com/TwangTownPodcastInstagram: www.instagram.com/TwangTownPodTwitter: www.twitter.com/TwangTownPodWe would love your support to continue to bring listeners amazing content!Cash App: www.cash.app/$TwangTownPodBuzzsprout: https://www.buzzsprout.com/2232176/support

This week Kat has her friend and licensed aesthetician, Hannah Ellis, back again to dive into the confusing world of skin care, anti aging, and the beauty industry. Have you heard of Frownies? Well, Kat had not and was surprised to find out it wasn't a nickname for the wrinkles you get when you frown. They are in fact, one more of the products being marketed to us to “slow down the aging process” and Hannah gives us the 411 on if they really work AND if we really need them. And in the biggest plot twist of the podcast this year, Kat and Hannah go from laughing about Frownies to processing the fact that we are all going to die someday…  Follow Kat on Instagram: @Kat.Defatta Follow the podcast Instagram: @YouNeedTherapyPodcast Have a question, concern, guest idea, something else? Hey Guys - Chris Blair here and I am SO excited for this episode because today marks one year of Stories Behind the Songs! We have loved getting to sit down with so many incredible songwriters, artists, and industry icons. We can't wait to see what this next year holds... Today, to help celebrate our 1 year anniversary, we've got Hannah Ellis with us! Hannah started songwriting after she listened to Taylor Swift, looked up the song credits, and learned that she writes her own music. Inspired to pick up the pen herself, Hannah quickly found out that she had that passion for songwriting and eventually made the move to Nashville from Campbellsville, Kentucky. Hannah's first big cut was “Would You Love Me” on Russell Dickerson's 2017 record, Yours. Since this cut, Hannah has toured with Carly Pearce, Gavin DeGraw, and Brett Young, performed at the Opry 8 times, and achieved her first top 50 single in 2023 with “Wine Country.” That Girl, Hannah's 2024 release through Curb Records, is her first full-length album, and it has already racked up millions of Spotify streams. She talks about how playing on The Listening Room stage (which she first visited back in her college days) helped her choose the songs for that very album. Her hope for this record is that it introduces listeners to the authentic Hannah Ellis and that they walk away feeling like old friends. It has been such a joy to witness the growth of Hannah's career here on the TLR stage, and it is even more fitting that she is the guest on our one year anniversary release! If you enjoyed this episode, give us a follow and check out Hannah's socials to see what she's got coming up and stream "That Girl" anywhere you find your music. We also want to shout-out our sponsors Sennhesier, Imperfect Aesthetician, and Alciar In Ears – if you're looking for a good set of in-ear monitor make sure to take advantage of our code “SBTSONGS” at checkout for 10% off! Today's guest is the amazingly talented Hannah Ellis. I first met her a couple of years ago and was immediately impressed with her poise and attitude. Her music is a true reflection of who she is. Fast forward to 2024 and she dropped her debut album titled 'That Girl.' It's definitely a contender for album of the year in my opinion. There are so many layers to this record and so and a lot of passion. It was a real pleasure to be able to chat with Hannah and learn more about her life before moving to Nashville, her audition for the Voice that kind of changed the path of her life and so much more.

We had a great conversation with country artist Tiffany Woys on The Chris & Sandy Show. We talked about her new podcast "What's mine is yours", her life, music, sacrifices, she told some GREAT stories to a whole lot more. This was a very raw & candid conversation! We ween deep on the business side of music with no holding back! WOW!Named a Taste of Country Artist to Watch and a CMT “Next Up Now” artist, Tiffany Woys grew up being influenced by powerhouse vocalists such as LeAnn Rimes, Faith Hill, Celine Dion, Michael Jackson and Carrie Underwood. As a child, she'd look for any opportunity to get up and sing in front of people, and by the time she hit 20, she was recording an independent album and hitting the road. After honing her stage presence by performing relentlessly at venues and events up and down the West Coast, often for more than three hours at a time, she followed her dreams to Nashville. Her brand-new EP, All About Love, released on March 18. Tiffany has enlisted some of Nashville's top powerhouse songwriters for the six songs, including tracks co-written by Hannah Ellis, Tammi Kidd, Sara Haze, Emily Shackelton, John Kennedy, busbee, and more. The project is produced by Tammi Kidd Hutton and Ben Phillips and features the recently released powerful version of LeAnn Rimes' “Probably Wouldn't Be This Way,” and her current radio single, “I Don't Want You Back,” Tiffany's sixth charted song on Billboard's National Country Radio Indicator Chart.

***DISCLAIMER*** *Due to the live nature of our Hometown Rising music festival coverage, & external circumstances beyond our control, the audio production in the following MoxieTalk is unable to be brought to our normal MoxieTalk listening and viewing standards. We apologize for any inconvenience.* As Rolling Stone so cleverly put it, Hannah Ellis is an artist for fans of “spontaneous declarations of love.” This Kentucky native is creating forward-thinking pop country music with a lyric that pulls from real-life experiences. This approach has garnered Hannah a great deal of attention in the last year as she was named to CMT’s Next Women of Country, as well as one of Rolling Stone’s “Artists to Watch.” Her single, “Home and a Hometown”, premiered on CMT last summer and has since been featured on Sirius XM’s “On the Horizon,” and even charted in the Top 100 on Mediabase Country, despite being an independent release. Growing up in her small hometown of Campbellsville, Kentucky, Hannah sang in every local competition she could, eventually leading her to compete in Season 8 of The Voice. Once returning home to Nashville, she signed a publishing deal with Curb|Word Entertainment. Hannah has since had songs recorded by artists like Russell Dickerson, Danielle Bradbery, and most recently, the current Cassadee Pope single. While writing full time, Hannah has continued traveling and playing shows. She signed with Creative Artists Agency at the end of 2017 and has since toured as the opener for artists such as Dwight Yoakam, Montgomery Gentry, and Devin Dawson. You can see Hannah out on the road this spring on the CMT Next Women of Country Tour with Cassadee Pope and Clare Dunn, and be on the lookout for some new music coming soon.

In this episode, Fred interviews country music artists Hannah Ellis and Nick Wayne, who recently got engaged. Ellis, a Kentucky native, appeared on Rolling Stone's "Artists To Watch" list, while CMT named her one of their "Next Women of Country." The outgoing singer spoke with Fred after a show, and they talked palate preferences, bananas foster and tasting whiskey. Wayne, meanwhile, as a 2019 'Listen Up' Artist by CMT, while Rolling Stone Country touted Nick in late 2018 as its 'Artist You Need To Know.' The laid back Nick talks with Fred about the music business and his songwriting process, and of course, whiskey comes into play as well. Whiskeys tasted: Jack Daniel's Barrel Pick (8:18) Barrell Bourbon 1 (32:59) EPISODE SUMMARY Not only did Hannah go to school with one of Fred's former colleagues, Nick is a bourbon enthusiast who has a song series titled "Bourbon Neat." Here are a few of the topics Fred landed on with his dual guests: Hannah revealed her love of pizza and charcuterie - anything and everything savory - so Fred did his best to find bourbons to meet her palate halfway. She partook of a Jack Daniel's barrel pick, which satisfied her love of bananas foster and banana-flavored cocktails. I couple of drops of water helped smooth out the whiskey for her. Along the way, Fred points out that Jack Daniel's whiskey is actually a bourbon, but JD chooses to call it a Tennessee Whiskey for marketing purposes. They also get into the prevalence of marketing in a broad sense. As Fred notes, "Most of everything in this world is marketing, and most marketing is bullshit." Hannah also reveals that her first drink was a margarita, not whiskey, mostly because her dad was a margarita drinker on family vacations. Fred spoke with Nick about songwriting and why we don't hear the word "bourbon" in song often. They also talked about themes in country music, and the prevalence of trucks, tractors and the actual word "country" in today's current songs. Nick talks about his songs that were recorded by Keith Urban and Tim McGraw/Faith Hill. Once the whiskey starts flowing, Nick compares the BCS Bourbon 1 to Stagg Jr., "but without the burn." On the road, he typically drinks Buffalo Trace on the rocks. Nothing wrong with "budget bourbon." He also reveals that Wayne is his middle name and not his last name (his real last name is Richardson), and won't admit that he wishes his first name was Bruce. Who wouldn't want to be called "Bruce Wayne"? QUOTABLES Hannah, talking about her "breakup" with bourbon a few years ago, blamed it on a single session of overindulgence: "A bottle of Wild Turkey did me in." Perhaps the quote of the show came from Nick, however, came as he talked about sharing stories over whiskey: "Bourbon is a sharing spirit but also there's a spirit in it that you start sharing."
