We've got UK artist Twinnie with us this week on the podcast! Twinnie is from England and made the move to Nashville just last year to pursue a career in country music. She comes from a long background of performing from growing up on stages in musical theatre to acting in movies and backup dancing for iconic artists like Robin Thicke and Pharell Williams. Twinnie is going to dive into how she started her career in Nashville, making connections wherever she could – Jamey Johnson being one of those connections – and takes us into the stories behind her songs, The Way I Loved You, her EP Just Like Earle (based off of Goodbye Earle by the Chicks), and her most recent release Take a Break. We talk about the importance of relationships and how they have formed her into who she is today... Twinnie was also just named 2024 Next Women of Country – she takes us to the moment when she found out about it, how she thought she was being asked to just play a show, but was pleasantly surprised that it would be much more than that... If you're not sure what it is, CMT's Next Women of Country highlights a lineup of women who are making great music and accomplishing awesome things in the industry. They highlight women across all of the CMT screens, providing them with several other opportunities throughout the year... Twinnie is more than deserving of this honor – keep an eye out for her! Content. Community. Culture. Those "three C's" are integral to the leadership of both CBS News and Stations and CBS Media Ventures President/CEO Wendy McMahon, who began her career in brand marketing at storied Gray Television-owned CBS affiliate WTOC-11 in Savannah, Ga.With a bigger role at CBS given to McMahon just days ago, McMahon says she's always craved opportunities in which she can continue to learn and grow. Yet, she said Wednesday in a TVB NEXT Women: Coffee online interview conducted by TVB Chief Communications Officer Abby Auerbach, "I'm not sure how I ultimately landed in this position. I was not one of those young professionals who had a vision board or a belief necessarily in where I wanted to be. I just knew that I had such a passion and such a belief in the power and the privilege of what at the time our local news stations did. But I just kept chasing that passion to be able to practice and hone my craft in bigger markets, in markets that were just incredibly complex and fascinating."McMahon had much to say about the "reality of discomfort," and how she leads today, in a "Coffee Talk" with Auerbach, Executive Director of its NEXT Women initiative. The discussion, underwritten by WideOrbit, offered insights on mentorship and leadership insights for women from McMahon, whose resume includes a stint as President of ABC Owned TV Stations and SVP of ABC Digital. In this InFOCUS Podcast, presented by dot.FM, we are pleased to offer excerpts from McMahon's chat with Auerbach.

Why Brandi was completely dismayed the first time she met Catherine; 2. Who made the first move—and why it made Catherine sweat; 3. All about the Carlile family compound—where they are raising their girls surrounded by family, band members, and exes; 4. How they communicate and deal with jealousy; and 5. About Brandi: Brandi Carlile is a six-time GRAMMY Award-winning singer, songwriter, performer, producer, #1 New York Times Bestselling author and activist, who is known as one of music's most respected voices. Her new album, In These Silent Days, recently debuted at #1 on Billboard's Americana/Folk Albums chart, Top Rock Albums chart and Tastemaker Albums chart and continues to receive overwhelming acclaim. She proffers fond lullabies and she unleashes full-throated screams," while NPR Music declares, “absolutely breathtaking, across the whole album Brandi Carlile pulls out all the stops. It's just extraordinary…she's just claiming rock god status."
