In this episode, Rob and Courtney explore the similarities between traditional “entrepreneurs” and the entrepreneurial life of a successful Singer/Songwriter. Courtney's musical journey began as a child in her Church and musical theater in school, in New Orleans area where she grew up, then exploded during her years in Nashville, America's heart of Country music. She put in the work, studying Music at Belmont University, and rose within the industry via an internship with a startup record label, learning the entirety of the business, writing her own songs and building key relationships. Her star shone brightly as she toured the United States, with icons like Miranda Lambert and Kane Brown and her audience grew through her live appearances and streaming on Spotify. But it was while playing the Main Stage at Stagecoach Festival in Southern California, broke and struggling emotionally, that she realized she wasn't living the life she aspired to and needed to make some big changes- She did just that, moving to Los Angeles, teaching herself to Paddle Board and overcoming a personal fear, reconnecting with her love for Yoga, building new relationships and creating a more authentic life. Her transformation eventually led to her successful EP, “Earthquake” in 2020, which tells her own story of transition and growth. She encourages listeners to follow what brings them joy rather than societal expectations and to listen to our hearts in order to “Get out of our Way.” Feel free to follow and engage with COURTNEY here: Official Web Page: https://www.courtneycolemusic.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecourtneycole Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/16K3uNOhyu14NcyCx63D4L?si=wEXfiwZzT3WGRKBnKU1l_Q&nd=1&dlsi=7654ffb53ff743ee YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/courtneycolemusic Apple Music: https://music.apple.com/us/album/earthquake-ep/1524775339 We're so grateful to you, our growing audience of entrepreneurs, investors, executives and anyone interested in the human stories behind the entrepreneurial economies of the Americas, from every corner of the United States to the furthest points in Latin America. Quebec's Justine Blanchet drops by the podcast to share hew new single with us! While Justine divides her time between her native city of Montreal and Nashville, “Hard to Love” represents a lot of notable Nashville firsts for her. It's her first collaboration with hitmaking Nashville producer Danick Dupelle (Emerson Drive, Tebey, Tyler Joe Miller, Matt Lang), her first single to be produced in Music City, and the upcoming music video was also filmed there. This single is also the first release from her debut EP that will drop in 2023. She'll be returning to Nashville in the fall to finish it. Written by a trio of noted songwriters - Courtney Cole, Derrick Southerland, and Kelly Archer – “Hard to Love” offers an inviting country flavour crossed with modern pop in its examination of love that's just out of reach. “Hard to Love” follows eight past single releases for Justine – including 2019's “Strong” (over 175K streams on Spotify) and 2021's “Get Out of the Mud” (#4 on CBC Country/Sirius XM) – and live show highlights like the Festival Country Lotbinière, the Gatlingburg Songwriter's Festival, Big Valley Jamboree, the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, and a pair of Diamonds in the Rough showcases during Canadian Country Music Week.

Singer-songwriter Courtney Cole's vision of life courses through her music. She's an artist who is constantly growing, learning, and transforming, unafraid to push boundaries and color outside the lines.Originally from New Orleans, she moved to Nashville and attended Belmont University's School of Music. She worked her way up the corporate ladder at Black River Entertainment, a record label and publishing house, touring the US with Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney, Kane Brown, and Old Dominion. She launched an open and honest podcast, The Love Freq with Courtney Cole, where she discusses the beauty and importance of healing and growing from life's earth-shattering moments and how to reconnect with the truest, deepest part of ourselves.Surrounded by a vibrant music scene that introduced her to jazz, blues, gospel, Cajun Zydeco, R&B, soul. “I saw people making a living doing what they loved, whether that was busking on the streets, playing in a bar, or singing in church."Her EP, Earthquake, which was released in Summer 2020, presents a collection of sonic diary entries that chronicle her personal, emotional, and spiritual growth over the past few years. She's choosing joy in the midst of pain, love in the midst of uncertainty, and finding out who she truly is in the process. And she hopes that her music has the same effect on listeners too, both in her music and on her podcast.www.courtneycolemusic.com/FB and IG @TheCourtneyColeHost - Trey Mitchelltreymitchellphotography IG and FBfeeding_the_senses_unsensored on IG and FBFor Sponsorship Information or Questions - ftsunashville@gmail.comTheme Song - Damien HorneTake It From Me @damienhorne

What is it that you want to create with your experience in 2021? What do you want your life to look like? If you could paint it in a picture, what would the painting look like? Would it be filled with more joy? More Wonder? More excitement? More love? Or more fear, anxiety, isolation, sadness, bitterness?
