There's no such thing as having it all. Every success takes sacrifice. Amy's guest today is actress, singer, song-writer, wife & brand new mom, Mackenzie Porter! With her packed career and being in entertainment, Mackenzie definitely asked herself: “Can I have a baby and continue my work?” (a thought none of us should have, but we most certainly do!) This leads to a quote from Shonda Rhimes that we love: “Whenever you see me somewhere succeeding in one area of my life, that almost certainly means I am failing in another area of my life.” Her point being there's no balance or “having it all” because perfection is impossible and we need not have those standards or be expected to do it all…just work hard and do our best where we are in each moment. Mackenzie grew up on a bison and cattle ranch in Canada….so obviously Amy asks her if she knows the Bison Storm Analogy! Even though she struggled with body issues and bullying throughout her youth, Lexi has used those experiences to power her into the outspoken advocate she is today, supporting numerous children's charities and helping to guide other young adults dealing with their own situations. Finding her own voice, Lexi moved to Nashville, TN to carve out her own path in the music industry. Career: In 2011, Zaruk teamed up with Nickleback producer Joey Moi, songwriter Craig Wiseman and manager Seth England to found Big Loud Mountain Publishing and Management. Advocating a top to bottom approach in building a successful act, Zaruk was integral to the rise of Florida Georgia Line-the first act signed by Big Loud Mountain. In 2015, the partners expanded the company to include a record label division, Big Loud Records. Big Loud Records' roster includes Morgan Wallen, Jake Owen, Chris Lane, HARDY, Madison Kozak, Mason Ramsey, MacKenzie Porter, ERNEST, Larry Fleet and Sean Stemaly. Previously, Brinson starred as Jeff Conniker in Netflix Sci-fi series, TRAVELERS along side Nesta Cooper, Eric McCormack and Mackenzie Porter. Initially his role was only meant to be a 3-episode Guest Star, however, Brinson’s immersion into his role as a domestically violent police officer convinced the show’s producers that they wanted him for all 3 seasons. Brinson’s early passion to perform landed him a place in the Drama Division at the prestigious Juilliard School where he went up against over 2,000 applicants to become one of only 150 students accepted. His experience at Julliard helped lead him into his current success on television.
