Now, let's shift gears to the world of zombies. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2 is coming at us with a seriously creepy twist—bioluminescent zombies! Yep, you heard that right. Executive producer Greg Nicotero is giving us glow-in-the-dark walkers! 70% of them were made using practical effects—LED lights and blacklight-activated paint—and it's going to look absolutely insane. This season, premiering September 29, also sees the return of fan-favourite Carol as she teams up with Daryl for a rescue mission. Expect lots of thrills and chills in this spooky new chapter!

After more than a 5 year break we're back to recap John Wick Chapter 3 as we celebrate Keanu Reeves 60th birthday. What holds this movie back from being as good as the other films in the franchise? Are the villains the best the series has had? Why are we split on our feelings on having Halle Berry added to the franchise? How many nods to the Matrix can they fit into this movie? Why is John Wick's Russian name so hard to pronounce? Is a sore lip a sign of catching a cold? And did we see the twist ending coming back in 2019? We just have to say we're really big fans, and so far Keanu has not disappointed, and you won't be disappointed either when you download and listen to our latest recap. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

Join host Bryan Dressel, Matt "Zombie Dog- All of the Dalmations" Dykes, Ryan "Comet" Lootens, and Joel "Fly" DeWitte as they avoid getting kicked in the face by a horse. This movie takes the franchise in a bold, exact same direction, but keeps the Binge Buddies more than entertained. Few movies have impressed us more while still not being perfect. When the armor is this pretty who cares if there are a few cracks!?!
Matt and I return to discuss John Wick Chapter 3 Parabellum. These movies continue to be great. We also continue our tasting of the Blantons bourbon lineup. now we're on to the 103 proof Gold Edition. I decide to break out some Nelson Bros Reserve Bourbon that won a blindtasting for me against Blantons Gold a couple weeks prior. So Matt and I do some comparing and see if my results are the same. As a bonus bottle I bring the new Hardins Creek Frankfor to the table. It's an exceptional 17 year old bourbon coming out of Jim Beam DIstillery.

This week we leap straight into the next John Wick film with executive producer David Leitch. Leitch actually co-directed the first Wick film but was uncredited with Chad Stahelski getting the full credit for that film. Do the Wick films get better each time, or was Chapter 2 the peak? Listen and see what we think!

No new episode this week so we're going WAAAAAAAY back to the archive for John Wick 3 from 2019. My opinion definitely changed a bit about what my favorite in the series is. Originally aired May 22, 2019 Listen LIVE every Wednesday at 8:30am on 91.3 WVUD, or online at: http://www.wvud.org/
“I will serve. I will be of service.”We're On the Run With John Wick.Picking up right where Chapter 2 ended, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum gives us more of what came before – amazing fight sequences with serious stuntwork, beautiful cinematography, and expanded world-building. While it delivers on all fronts, some people found this one's expanded universe to be a bit too much. But is it? Or does it work? Join us – Pete Wright and Andy Nelson – as we continue our journey through the John Wick series with our conversation about Chad Stahelski's 2019 film John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. Here's a hint at what we talk about.First off, what's with the addendum to the title? Did we need “Parabellum” added, even if it fits both in the Latin phrase mentioned as well as the aptly named parabellum Luger cartridge? Title issues aside, we dig into the world-building here and try to sort out how much world-building is too much, and at what point does it feel like the world-building is there just to get John out of and into particular situations. That aside, we have a fantastic slew of new characters – The Director, The Elder, The Adjudicator, Sofia, Tick Tock Man, Ernest, and more – not to mention more with some of our favorites, particularly Lance Reddick who we sadly lost between our last recording and this one. The stunt work and action choreography is top notch in this film, particularly the work with the dogs. It's a fun, violent film and whether you feel it's better than, worse than, or on par with what came before, it certainly fits in this world. We have a great time talking about it, so check it out then tune in. We know what you are thinking. “Hold on Hintnar Calabash and Zouch Oligarchy. How could the legendary assassin John Wick, portrayed by the myth himself Keanu Reeves, possibly escape from a legion of assassins who are attempting to kill him until he is dead and no longer alive?” We are glad you asked, you beautiful, smart human person. And we are here, as we always are, to discuss that very question. That's right - This week we are reviewing John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum. Featuring 85 confirmed kills, 3 dogs, and 1 man fighting for survival, Chapter 3 is a sight to behold. Yeah, I'm thinking we're back (again). John Wick returns in Chapter 3 - Parabellum and we've googled the dual meaning of that title so YOU don't have to! Alex, Ben and their special guest Joel Edmiston (@joeledmiston) talk about the late great Lance Reddick, an underwhelming Oscars ceremony (no slaps), Halle Berry and her tactical attack dogs, and the genius of Chad Stahelski. Joel also provides us with some context for the world of DTV action cinema and how it relates to the John Wick franchise. Join us next week as we head back to the cinemas to see John Wick: Chapter 4, hot and ready, fresh out of the oven!
