When old friends get together, the stories can't help but be told. In the case of the pair of coon hunting friends on this podcast, the stories go back to the days when Steve and guest Fred Bright began hunting, Steve in the mountains of West Virginia and Fred in the mountains of east Tennessee. It's been a year since Bright made his first guest appearance and he brought a whole new set of experiences to the podcast studio. The boys cover coonhounds and beagles with equal shares of recollections of hounds and hunts long since gone. Bright is a great story teller with amazing recall and his tales never disappoint. From Black and Tan Coonhounds that lost their voices to beagles that refused to compete, here's an hour of hound talk in the best Gone To The Dogs tradition. Enjoy! This week, we're joined by KJ Britt—NFL football player and lifelong, obsessed rabbit hunter. It's a refreshing change of pace as we hear how KJ, his father, and grandfather enjoy spending time together chasing rabbits and running dogs. It's three generations of rabbit hunting heritage, and KJ doesn't take it for granted. With around thirty beagles and a strong desire to hunt every chance they get, their passion is clear. We ask plenty of questions about hunt strategies, jump dogs, lingo, and whether a property managed for deer also makes great habitat for rabbits. We also touch on the fact that fewer people chase rabbits than in the past—and how they're missing out on a lot of excitement. It's a fun one.
