A high-stakes Monday schedule fundamentally shifted the fantasy landscape as ace starters faced starkly contrasting fates, strategic bullpen management unlocked massive streaming value, and a wave of superstar injury activations prepared to reshape active lineups. Corey Pieper returns to dive deep into a critical slate of performances, breaking down brilliant bounceback campaigns, alarming pitching regressions, crucial bullpen developments, and a fresh FanDuel Bet of the Day target. The elite pitching tier delivered extreme polarization to start the week. Kyle Bradish put together an absolute masterclass, stifling hitters across eight scoreless frames with nine strikeouts, while Michael King was equally spectacular, preservation-perfect over seven shutout innings with five punchouts. Brandon Woodruff was utterly electric in his return, silencing opposition bats with 10 strikeouts across six dominant, one-hit frames to hold off an equally sharp Brady Singer. Framber Valdez flashed stellar form with eight strikeouts over six frames of one-run ball, and Michael Wacha outdueled Drew Rasmussen by logging seven frames of one-run stability. Conversely, Gerrit Cole ran into an absolute buzzsaw, shelled for five earned runs on nine hard hits in a brief 4.1-inning exit, leaving fantasy managers sweating over his structural consistency. Meanwhile, strategic bulk-relievers stealing wins behind openers became an absolute goldmine; Eric Lauer fired six hitless, spectacular frames out of the bullpen, Alan Rangel tossed five innings of one-run ball, and highly touted prospect Kumar Rocker fanned nine batters across five stellar bulk frames to eclipse Tyler Phillips. The waiver and injury landscape is shifting beneath our feet with massive high-impact reinforcements on the immediate horizon. Fantasy managers can officially rejoice as Cincinnati's dynamic superstar Elly De La Cruz is locked in for his Tuesday activation from the hamstring injured list, while former Cy Young winner Shane Bieber is ready to make his long-awaited season debut for the Blue Jays. San Francisco is also on the verge of an incredible depth boost, with Francisco Lindor and flame-throwing righty Eury Perez trending aggressively toward a potential Wednesday return. On the critical tracking front, MVP centerpiece Bobby Witt Jr. sat out Monday's action but remains highly optimistic about avoiding a costly IL stint, while Kyle Tucker continues to manage lower back spasms. On the downside, both Dalton Rushing and Jeremy Peña triggered concern by leaving their respective contests early due to apparent physical tweaks. We wrap up the program with a comprehensive, deep-dive Bullpen Report tracking sudden closer instability. We analyze Ryan Helsley's uncharacteristic recent structural struggles, evaluate Jaden Hill's ascending leverage role in Colorado alongside Elvis Alvarado's concurrent high-leverage blown-save regression, navigate the cloudy late-inning committee situation for the Chicago Cubs, and dissect highly unusual, rough high-leverage outings from trusted anchors Cade Smith and Aroldis Chapman. Griffin Warner talks betting for Monday. Griffin Warner is back on the Pregame.com Podcast Network with episode 52 of What I Bet, the Monday, June 22nd edition, covering the full FIFA World Cup 2026 group stage card and the complete MLB slate before delivering a single best bet to close the show. Griffin opens by confirming the previous episode's winning play, Kansas City Royals at plus 113, a result that held on through a three-run ninth inning for a 6-5 final before moving straight into the World Cup. The first match on the board is Austria taking on defending champion Argentina at noon Central Time in Dallas, where Griffin observed real Austria supporter presence before making the tactical case for Ralf Rangnick's gegenpressing system as the one approach capable of limiting Messi's time and space. Griffin recaps Argentina's Matchday 1 win over Algeria, where Messi survived a red card situation and scored twice in the second half, and frames the Austria plus one and under two and a half combination as potentially live if the press works the way Rangnick, widely credited as the architect of that style and an influence on coaches like Xabi Alonso, designs it to work. Next up is France against Iraq, where Griffin acknowledges France is on another level after Kylian Mbappe's stoppage-time goal from outside the box buried all underdogs and unders in Matchday 1, and sees no compelling case for Iraq to compete. Griffin identifies Norway versus Senegal as the best match of the day, noting Erling Haaland scored twice in Norway's opener while Senegal impressed for 64 minutes against France before conceding a late Mbappe goal, finding the under two and a half and Senegal as a quarter-goal underdog both worth watching. The final group stage match features a must-win Algeria side returning after a 3-0 loss to Argentina taking on a Jordan team whose best European-league player, Mousa Al-Tamari, the so-called Jordanian Messi playing club football in France, did not show up in the opener. Griffin finds the one-goal spread too tight given Algeria's talent depth and expects sharp money to push the line before kickoff. Baseball follows with a ten-game slate preview. Griffin likes the under 8 in Yankees-Tigers with Garrett Cole back and a worrying Detroit bullpen, the under 7.5 in Royals-Rays with Michael Wacha and Drew Rasmussen both going well and a Tampa Bay team not built to score, the Astros at plus 104 against Toronto with Hunter Brown making a second start opposite Shane Bieber's first of the year, a slight Mets lean at plus 103 against the Cubs with Shota Imanaga's fly ball tendencies a concern against Kodai Senga, the White Sox at home over an injury-thinned Guardians roster missing José Ramírez after hamate surgery, a tempting Merrill Kelly plus 122 number against Andre Pallante in St. Louis, the over on Jason Bennett's rookie Coors Field debut for Boston, and a lean toward the under in the Braves-Padres matchup where Grant Holmes faces Michael King, with both bullpens strong and Ronald Acuña Jr. sidelined by a hamstring injury. Griffin closes with his official What I Bet Best Bet: Kansas City Royals under 7.5 at Tampa Bay Rays at minus 120, with a recommendation to sprinkle on the under 4 in the first half as well. Munaf Manji and Dave Essler talk betting for Monday. Munaf Manji and Uncle Diamond Dave Essler open the new week on the Straight Outta Vegas AM feed with a fully loaded Monday edition of Cash That Ticket, working through five MLB matchups and then delivering what Dave calls his strongest NFL win total call of the entire series so far on the Cleveland Browns. The guys come in off a split weekend, both taking their lumps and moving on with the goldfish memory approach that keeps the show rolling. On the baseball side, they start with the pitching matchup of the night in Detroit, where Garrett Cole faces Framber Valdez in a game the market has been moving aggressively, with the total climbing from seven and a half to eight and a half. Munaf lays out Cole's remarkable career dominance over the Tigers, a 10 and 1 record with a 1.84 ERA and the teams he has pitched for going 12 and 2 straight up, while Dave zeros in on the value of Cole at minus 130 and the case for a first five innings under before the bullpens get involved. In Toronto, Hunter Brown faces Dylan Cease in a matchup both hosts see as a first five innings situation, with the Astros bullpen too unreliable to back beyond that point and Cease's home splits revealing an ace-level pitcher who simply has not been getting run support. The Cubs and Mets game carries a significant weather caveat, with a 75 percent rain probability at Citi Field, but if it gets played both hosts fade Kodai Senga despite their deep skepticism about the Chicago offense, reasoning that Senga's recent run of seven home runs allowed and multiple short outings makes the Cubs the better side regardless. In Chicago, Munaf goes with the White Sox as a home underdog behind Anthony Kay, who carries a 3.08 home ERA and gets a Cleveland lineup that struggles against left-handed pitching. The Dodgers and Twins game draws both hosts to the Minnesota side, where Eric Lauer's brutal history against this specific team, thirteen earned runs in ten innings across his last two starts against the Twins, makes laying minus 155 with Los Angeles a non-starter. Both hosts land on the Twins at plus 128, with Munaf adding the Twins team total over in the first five innings. Dave closes the baseball segment with bonus looks at the Reds on the run line against Brendan Woodruff returning from the injured list, a possible under in Texas with Kumar Rocker, and the Red Sox in the first five at Coors. The second half of the episode belongs to the Cleveland Browns, who come in with a win total of six and a half and a roster that looks nothing like the team that went 5 and 12 last season. The Myles Garrett trade to the Rams for Jared Verse and three future draft picks wiped the slate clean, Todd Monken arrives as head coach with prior Cleveland experience and fresh Ravens divisional knowledge, and the quarterback room features Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel competing for snaps. Dave walks through a schedule that he calls extremely favorable, with the Panthers, Jets, Titans, Saints, Falcons, Colts and Giants all on the docket in winnable spots. He counts at least six wins from those matchups alone and calls this the team he feels most confident about in the win total series. Munaf throws out the bold take that the Browns could legitimately threaten for the AFC North title given that three of the four division teams have new coaches. Both hosts take the over. Best bets feature Dave on the Tampa Bay Rays minus half run in the first five innings behind Drew Rasmussen, who has been one of the most quietly dominant starters in baseball with a 0.88 WHIP and 29 strikeouts over his last three starts, and Munaf on the Yankees and Tigers first five innings under four and a half, backing both starters to control the early innings. Dave adds a weather-dependent bonus on the Cubs team total over four and a half against Senga and the Mets bullpen. Episode 171 of Tablesetters is LIVE! We open with the first place Chicago White Sox, who suddenly sit atop the AL Central at 36-31 after starting the season 6-13. We break down whether this surge is actually sustainable, how Chicago has gone 29-17 since April 18, why their top-five offense has changed the entire outlook, and how Munetaka Murakami, Colson Montgomery, Miguel Vargas, Davis Martin, and top prospect Braden Montgomery have turned the White Sox into one of baseball's best stories. From there, we dive into Bryce Eldridge's unbelievable signature moment in San Francisco. Just two days after striking out with a chance to tie the game, the 21-year-old rookie launched an ultimate grand slam in the bottom of the ninth to complete an 11-10 Giants comeback over the Nationals. We discuss the Giants erasing a 9-1 deficit, Eldridge becoming the youngest player in MLB history to hit a walk-off grand slam, Matt Chapman's monster game, and one of the most improbable wins in franchise history. We also discuss Ronald Acuña Jr. landing back on the injured list with another Grade 1 left hamstring strain, what it means for the Braves, and the bigger question of whether he is still a superstar. Acuña's 2023 MVP résumé is undeniable, but with two IL stints this season, multiple major injuries since 2021, and current numbers below his usual standard, the conversation has shifted from talent to availability. Plus, Drew Rasmussen dominates the Red Sox with a career-high 13 strikeouts over seven shutout innings, Max Scherzer reaches 3,500 career strikeouts while his season-long struggles continue, the Athletics and Brewers turn Las Vegas Ballpark into a launching pad, Dalton Rushing's villain reputation grows after another controversial slide, and we make our official Men's College World Series picks with Georgia, North Carolina, Alabama, West Virginia, Texas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Troy all fighting for Omaha.

Jake and I break down a wild day in baseball, starting with the homer teams: the A's taking two out of three from Milwaukee and the Rockies walking off the Cubs. Then we hit the rest of the MLB chaos: the Giants' ridiculous comeback, Drew Rasmussen punching out 13, the Yankees sweeping Cleveland, the White Sox taking over the AL Central, the Pirates stunning the Dodgers, Max Scherzer reaching 3,500 strikeouts, and Reid Detmers shoving against Houston. A's win. Rockies win. Cubs lose. Astros lose. Good baseball day. Headline:A's Win, Rockies Walk It Off, and MLB Gets Weird Subheadline: The A's took the series, the Rockies stuck it to the Cubs, the White Sox took the Central, and the Giants pulled off one of the wildest comebacks of the year. Post: The homer teams both got it done, so that's where Jake and I started. The A's took two out of three from Milwaukee in Vegas, with Alika Williams hitting his first career homer and Carlos Cortes and Lawrence Butler going deep late to flip the game. The bullpen held it together, the defense looked better, and the A's keep climbing back toward .500. Then the Rockies walked off the Cubs, which is always worth celebrating. Michael Lorenzen gave Colorado a solid start at Coors, TJ Rumfield got them back in it, and Sterlin Thompson finished it in the ninth. After that, the whole MLB slate turned into chaos: the Giants erased a 9-1 deficit, Drew Rasmussen struck out 13, the Yankees swept Cleveland, the White Sox took over the AL Central, the Pirates stunned the Dodgers, and Reid Detmers shoved as the Angels beat the Astros. Good day for the A's. Good day for the Rockies. Bad day for the Cubs and Astros. Move your ass. We're burning daylight. Substack Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

On the April 18, 2025 episode of RJ Bell's Dream Preview MLB podcast, Munaf Manji and Griffin Warner provided in-depth analysis of the Friday baseball slate with betting insights. Munaf opened by highlighting his 5-1 betting record and credited their collaborative discussions for the success. The first matchup covered was Diamondbacks vs. Cubs (0:10–7:40). Corbin Burnes has struggled early, while Cubs starter Colin Rea provides potential value. Chicago leads MLB in runners in scoring position appearances and has scored 124 runs to Arizona's 104. The Cubs as home underdogs and a lean to the over were discussed, depending on Wrigley Field wind. In Royals vs. Tigers (7:41–11:34), Cole Ragans faces top prospect Jackson Jobe. Kansas City's offense has produced just 19 runs over its last 10 games and is 2-8 on the road. The Tigers' bullpen is strong, and both hosts leaned toward Detroit plus money and under 7.5. Guardians vs. Pirates (11:35–15:11) features Luis Ortiz against Carmen Mlodzinski. Mlodzinski has a 1.77 WHIP with command issues. The Guardians were favored due to bullpen depth. Pittsburgh is 6-4 at home and to the over. There was a slight lean to Cleveland and possibly over 8.5. In Marlins vs. Phillies (15:12–19:08), Sandy Alcantara is no longer dominant, while Zack Wheeler boasts an 11-4 record and 2.73 ERA against Miami. Philadelphia is 24-11 in Wheeler's home starts since 2023. The Phillies were a strong lean, especially on the run line. Yankees vs. Rays (19:49–25:11) featured Carlos Rodón, who has allowed 4+ earned runs and 3+ walks in three straight starts. Drew Rasmussen has not allowed a run in 21 career innings vs. the Yankees. Munaf's best bet was Rays first five innings at -110. In Reds vs. Orioles (25:12–28:31), Andrew Abbott faces Cade Povich. While Abbott had a solid outing against Pittsburgh, Baltimore's offense poses more danger. The Orioles were favored and offensive production expected. Mariners vs. Blue Jays (28:31–31:40) has Bryan Woo, who has struggled away from home, against Bowden Francis. Toronto is 7-3 at home and the over 7.5 was considered. Cardinals vs. Mets (31:42–35:05) pits Miles Mikolas against David Peterson. St. Louis is 1-6 on the road and lacks comeback potential. The Mets were the lean, especially on the run line. Griffin's best bet was Braves -130 vs. Twins (35:06–38:12). Chris Paddack has lost all three starts by 2+ runs and Bryce Elder is trying to earn a rotation spot. In Red Sox vs. White Sox (38:13–41:46), Martín Pérez is a steady innings-eater. Boston has a negative run differential and both hosts were reluctant to back them as heavy favorites. Dodgers vs. Rangers (41:46–45:55) features Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who has a 0.91 WHIP and 28 strikeouts in 22 innings, against Jacob deGrom, who's allowed multiple home runs in consecutive starts. The Dodgers were favored early. In Astros vs. Padres (52:32–56:54), Kyle Hart rebounded after a poor debut, while Houston's Ryan Gusto is unproven. The Padres are 15-4, and with Houston's bullpen issues, San Diego at +123 was the consensus lean. Brewers vs. A's (56:55–1:01:02) has Freddy Peralta allowing six earned runs over 23.1 innings. Milwaukee is 43-27 at home in his starts since 2018. Nationals vs. Rockies (1:01:11–1:04:14) features cold Denver weather and a low total of nine. MacKenzie Gore's road struggles were noted, but Washington was the slight lean. Giants vs. Angels (1:04:14–1:07:43) featured Logan Webb's consistency against Tyler Anderson. San Francisco is 9-4 on the road with eight wins by 2+ runs. Munaf leaned Giants run line. The episode ended with a promo for Pregame's $1,000 MLB contest and 20 percent discount code HOMERUN20.
