With the music landscape dominated by the grunge movement coming out of Seattle, it's little wonder that Pennsylvania's Riverside, a band influenced by the likes of The Smiths and Echo and the Bunnymen, didn't stand a chance. Featuring Keith Kochanowicz (vocals, guitar, organ) and his brother Glenn Kochanowicz (bass, vocals), Kenneth Jackson (guitars), and Geoff Verne (drums), the band's debut - and ultimately lone - album for Sire Records, One, was released in 1992. While featuring a number of alt-rock-radio friendly songs (“Waterfall,” “Cinnamon Eyes,”), Riverside couldn't catch a break and were dropped by the label despite finishing a sophomore album, Taste. More than 30 years after One's release, the Kochanowicz brothers hooked up with the Lost in Ohio record label and a Kickstarter campaign was launched to fund the first-ever pressing of the album on vinyl. Despite never achieving massive success in the ‘90s, the campaign was fully funded within weeks of the announcement and the vinyl will be available later this summer. In this conversation, the Kochanowicz brothers discuss the formation of the band, how fellow Pennsylvania band The Ocean Blue served as mentors, the realities of having a major label record deal in the ‘90s, and what happened after Sire dropped Riverside. Elaine Kochanowicz is the mother of six children, a wife, a published author, and a podcaster. With her unique sense of humor, contagious laugh, and words of joy, she desires for moms to celebrate the wins and not take themselves too seriously. Elaine wants you to know that God is proud of you even when you have an inappropriate typo on the label maker or your husband is chasing your child down the street in his underwear as you drive away. As she has learned; sometimes eating fast food, drinking a supersized soda, and listening to rap music in your car alone is a proper form of taking care of yourself. This conversation is sure to make you smile and give you some much-needed laughs. https://www.rev.com/transcript-editor/shared/7eyUepyjs6EJyNOMR6RNpvyQbBWx6BtT_G3O0f30u4AkwDqsUXm4Rko9UIPeUP7uAOhSNaTHZJHS02orRenvKDTFgHk?loadFrom=SharedLink (Full Show Transcript) https://emaginemom.com/episodes (Emaginemom Podcast) https://www.amazon.com/Mom-Six-Dies-Laughing-Overwhelm/dp/B09NKL36XQ/ref=sr_1_2?crid=2KYITFX4WA26I&keywords=mom+of+six+dies+laughing&qid=1651540135&sprefix=mom+of+six+%2Caps%2C297&sr=8-2 (Book: Mom of Six Dies Laughing) https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100005264174888 (Facebook) Email Elaine Kochanowicz https://www.amazon.com/Wild-Heart-Expanded-Ed-Discovering-ebook/dp/B08BYZBC8C/ref=sr_1_1?crid=CTVNGZO575W0&keywords=wild+at+heart+john+eldredge&qid=1651540468&sprefix=wild+at+heart%2Caps%2C264&sr=8-1 (Wild at Heart by John Eldredge) Email Daniel Kitchel The Cross Church

I often hear people say that the difference between “animal abusers” like Michael Vick and Andre Robinson, and non-vegans, is that Vick and Robinson inflicted suffering on animals because they enjoyed the process of inflicting harm on animals whereas non-vegans just enjoy the taste of animal products but don’t want to harm animals. I posted an essay from this site on Facebook concerning Andre Robinson, the man who kicked the cat named King, and who faces anticruelty charges in New York. You don’t need a theory of animal rights to get you to veganism. You don’t even need to believe in human and nonhuman equality to get to veganism.
