Already in 2024 we have seen a slew of amazing Dub tracks being released. This is a continuous mixtape weaving together the classic foundation and the new excitement. Mexican Institute Of Sound's newest single (with Ceci Bastida) release is Stop! It accompanies an amazing album of career retrospective oro. Camilo Lara's music is always perfecto and he is an artist I play more than most on my radio shows. Black Grape are back with a new album Pumpkin Head, and in my opinion it's the best one since Isn't It Great…And this record is great and more. It's filled with slow burning dub sounds that are almost torch song ballads - and the emotional intelligence is more than we could have hoped for from a long term functioning twisted melon. It's bloody fantastic. Also featuring Panda Bear, Sonic Boom, Adrian Sherwood, MU, Kassa Overall, Andrae Murchison, Lee “Scratch” Perry, Manu Chao, LKJ, Dennis Bovell, Bacao Rhythm & Steel Band, Johnny Clarke, King Tubby, Sly & Robbie and loads more! This show was first broadcast on the 2nd of February, 2024For more info and tracklisting, visit: https://thefaceradio.com/matt-pape-mixtape/Tune into new broadcasts of Matt Pape Mixtape, Friday from 12 - 1 AM EST / 5 - 6 AM GMT.Dig this show? #547 escancarando a meiuca de 2023 com courtney barnett, jorge ben, LKJ, the smiths, tina turner, nervoso & amarante... pula deNtro!
In a week where: Trump is indicted. Oscar Pistorius and Charles Bronson are denied parole. Connecticut and LSU win NCAA National Basketball championships. TikTok fined £12.7 million for UK Data Protection Breaches. Finland becomes 31st member of NATO. In TV: A friend asked me to watch Donald Glover's new show "Swarm". Whilst it's certainly something to evoke an opinion, I can't quite shake off and it's Glover's creative relationship with Black women. In the 1st of two Society segments: Dub poet Linton Kwesi Johnson has commented on Britain's ills for decades and with the recent reckoning of the Met Police and British policing as a whole, LKJ is keeping the pressure on. In the 2nd Society segment: It's time for yet another moral panic! This time, it's the government's crackdown on Nos. But don't get it twisted, this isn't merely about curbing Anti-Social Behaviour, it's something bigger.Lastly, in Life: I've always credited my creative endeavours for giving my life purpose, but for some, creative endeavours like Photography can save your mental health.Thank you for listening! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/boia/message

We had LKJ on our show before talking about all the other interesting things that she does in her life with one being a critic and also a public speaker but this time we concentrate on her book:The Broken Girl in the Red ShoesRobert cradled Jacob in his arms until his tiny heart stopped beating The nurse physically unpeeled Robert's fingers to remove Jacobs's body from his hands. The Broken Girl in the Red Shoes takes you on a journey where a mother dies, taking her daughter's soul with her and leaving her heart and mind devastated and body engulfed by grief. The girl reflects on her mother's heartache throughout her life as she leads you to a haunted convent. We learn how the daughter recovers from her grief and gains back her soul and, in the process, learns never to alter the path of fate.We look forward to having LKJ join us again.
HALLO Pforzheim!

Linton Kwesi Johnson - Street 66 An Edit Mr. Turner & Antoine Free DL >> https://hypeddit.com/track/53jaso Linton Kwesi Johnson (aka LKJ) (born 24 August 1952, Chapelton, Jamaica) is a British-based author and dub poet. Johnson's poetry makes clever use of the unstandardised transcription of Jamaican Patois and is allied to the Jamaican "toasting" tradition. He became the second living poet, and the only black poet, to be published in the Penguin Classics series.
