Another 1 hour techno mix from inside the Bas[s]ment conatining the last few months relases and live elements. In the heart of Amsterdam West lies a gem, hidden underground, that comes to life during weekend evenings: a streaming studio, equipped with top notch DJ gear, professional video equipment, light robots and bombastic speakers; it's called The Bassment and for the past couple of years it has been hosting an excellent roster of national and international DJs, in different formats but always very Techno-oriented: a delight for any techno-head alike. Along its evolution is the award of the official ADE yellow cube, making The Bassment a relevant pin in today's #Mokum map of underground venues.Mind Your step, curator and owner of this cozy but vibrant space, is a long time Techno lover and, as such, he's a supporter of the earlier Techno sound; but his fascination with all things electronic has kept him very much up with current times. His personal setup is made to live edit tracks as he plays, creating brand new music from existing one, for a whole new listening and dancing experience. His performance is live and energetic with a track selection ranging from Dubstep, Trap, DnB, Glitch, and other bass heavy electronic music genres. He can spin all genres across the board and with his experience beginning on vinyl can work on all equipment. DJing since 2006. Keano began building his mixing skills that year as well becoming an On-Air Personality for C89.5 FM, KNHC Seattle (The Largest & Longest Running Dance Radio Station In The US). After 4 years of work with C895, Keano then worked with KUOW a NPR affiliate in 2008, was a guest host on 99.9FM KISW, and began his work in the local club scene. When 2010 hit he was more than ready to start ‘The Bassment', an all bass music heavy electronic radio show. Keano has run multiple weekly bass heavy EDM events in Seattle, including historic Seattle venues rooted in the underground scene to a Billboard Top 100 Club. As a resident DJ with DnB Tuesdays, the longest running Drum and Bass weekly in the world, he has a true love for DnB. Keano started Trapped Productions in 2012, running events around Washington State as well as being contracted for festival promotion. In 2021 he Co-Founded Kaleidoscope Arts & Events to bring music, art and cannabis to events. Slow Jamz Radio is back on the internet, this time we're doing live visual sets from Slow Jamz Gallery. Episode #006 kicks off with a melting pot of Da Bassment Cru, Swing Mob, & the SuperFriends. Da Bassment Cru (aka Swing Mob) was a collective of artists founded by Jodeci member, DeVante Swing in 1995. These artists included: Timbaland, Missy Elliott (Sista), Magoo, Ginuwine, Playa, Tweet (Sugah), and many more. The group made a compilation tape that they marketed to record labels, then eventually their contributions have made it's debut from Jodeci's The Show, The After-Party, The Hotel. Da Bassment Cru/Swing Mob eventually disbanded from DeVante's mood swings and the artists continued to collaborate under the collective, The Superfriends in 1997. In my opinion, this is really when each individual artist began to shine and rise to growth. Timbaland & Magoo dropped their album, they adopted Aaliyah to their roster (in which Tim, Missy, & Static backed her project), Missy dropped Supa Dupa Fly, Playa dropped Cheers 2 U, and Ginuwine wanted to be your pony.
