Nottingham was a high concept spec script that reimagined the Robin Hood legend from the perspective of the Sheriff of Nottingham that asked whether we should follow the law, or our heroes. Robin Hood is a movie where Robin Hood does not rob from the rich or give to the poor, but his dad did write the Magna Carta. This is the story of how Nottingham became Robin Hood. Orinthal Redux #3: Who is This MellekahOur heroes get serious and show off what they can really do in a fight! The party presses on in search of Kalima’s former ally, Mellekah. As the mystery deepens, the party chases after a shadowy figure and solve one mystery, only to come up with dozens more questions. Welcome to Orinthal Redux! We are re-releasing our original short series, Orinthal, with new editing and music. Three years ago, we started our podcast with this actual play with no idea of where it would lead. Taking place over a hundred years before our current actual play adventures, our characters in Orinthal looked for clues and hunted for a secret foe who instigated devious plots within the city. For those who have listened to the original release, we hope you will enjoy this fresh take on the story. Starting from when our heroes meet, our editor Adam has cleaned up the audio and we have added music to enhance the mystery and action. If you want to hear the original character introductions, those are still available on our podcast feed. You can also read our character backstories on our website.Orinthal: Meet SaryaOrinthal: Meet TorrOrinthal: Meet KalimaOrinthal: Meet DaryllOrinthal: Meet Syldan Follow us on twitter @RulesAsWritten. This episode of the Prismatica Magazine Podcast features the story “From the Ashes” by Alexis Ames and is read by K.A. Smith.Alexis Ames (she/her) first picked up a pen when she was eleven years old and hasn’t put it down since. Science fiction is her preferred genre–more specifically, exploring the intersection of humanity and artificial intelligence. It’s rare that she’ll write a story without a robot (or three). Angst is her lifeblood. World-building is her favorite part of writing. Writing the middle of the story is the worst. Nothing makes her happier than a good conversation about all things Star Trek.In her spare time, she runs, hikes, reads, and dreams up ways to make robots sad.Theme Song:Odyssey Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Other Music:Ascending the Vale Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Devastation and Revenge Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Magic Forest Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Twisting Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)

After several editing and technical hiccups, we're happy to present episode 34 on beloved travel writer Patrick Leigh Fermor and his only novel. A soldier who led the resistance in Crete during WWII, a spy posing as a shepherd who captured a German general, an insatiable traveler (lest we forget heartthrob), Fermor was a jack-of-all-trades whose travel writing is known the world over. His novel "The Violins of Saint-Jacques," however, presents a West Indies that both gilds and destroys a European presence that reflects, perhaps, more the devastation caused by WWII than decolonization. Check out our discussion on art and context, WWII and British Literature, and the work travel writing does in the wake of quickly disappearing cultures. S2E11: UNFAMILIAR Plot Device has one message for you: If you’re going to curse magicians, you’d better use the right pronouns. In a time of wizards, peace between animals is shattered by a witch who didn’t think about nonbinary magicians—and now Sam, a humble apprentice, is the only human who can use magic. Sam and their animal associates must don the robes and brace themselves for a journey where no animal is neutral and no pun is too terrible.
