We discuss the surprises and not so surprising additions to this 2021 Green Bay Packers roster. Including the eventual signing of new punter, Corey Bojorquez, David Bakhtiari on the PUP and the ascendance of Malik Taylor.
Matt, Paul, and JR are all back for the 3rd preseason game, unlike everyone else in the NFL. They go over the big change at inside linebacker with Kamal Martin gone, and Oren Burks maybe improving, the Ka'dar Hollman trade, the upcoming Trubisky-to-Kumerow show, punters who could replace JK Scott, awful special teams, Kylin Hill, Malik Taylor, and the idea that one day Kurt Benkert may meet golfer Ben Curtis and have a confusing introduction. Also, Matub's never seen The Royal Tenenbaums, and Paul compares Jay Cutler to Richie Tenenbaum and Aaron Rodgers to Eli Cash. Finally, Bob Tonyan's incredible hands, and listener questions! Intro: Benny and the Jets - Biz Markie (RIP) Outro: Pressure Drop - The Specials Want more great Packers audio content from Reporting as Eligible? Jon and Aaron go over the Preseason game against the Jets. While the score is meaningless, there were some good games from Malik Taylor and Kylin Hill. Also, more roster moves this week. Then the guys preview the Badgers roster before delving into the Brewers series wins over the Cardinals and Nationals. The Last Call Segment touches on Badgers Volleyball, Milwaukee Milkmen and the Northwoods League.
This One Tip Will Advance Your Career. Today, I will be discussing informational interviews. Informational interviews are essential to helping you find out more about the type of industry, company, or role you're interested in,” says Dorie Clark, author of Stand Out Networking. “You may think you already know all about a certain position, but speaking to someone directly allows you to test your assumptions.” John Lees, a UK-based career strategist and author of The Success Code, agrees. Informational interviews “give you exposure — a way to get yourself known in the hidden job market,” he says. “The visibility may put you straight onto a shortlist, even if a job isn't advertised.” https://hbr.org/2016/02/how-to-get-the-most-out-of-an-informational-interview An informational interview can help you build relationships with individuals in your field of interest. During the interview make sure, your interviewee does most of the talking. The interview is an opportunity for you to test your hypothesis about your dream career. Questions to ask: How do you get into this line of work? What do you enjoy about it? What's not so great about it? What's changing in the sector? What kinds of people do well in this industry? Don't make PERMANENT decisions based on your conversation with one person. Try your best to interview at least three individuals. E-mail template to request an informational interview Hello, Mr./Ms./Dr. My name is Malik Taylor, and I'm a junior majoring in Media Studies at UC Berkeley. Is this a good time for you to talk briefly? I heard you speak at an event sponsored by the Undergraduate Marketing Association last semester. Although I am not currently looking for a job, I have become very interested in public relations and would like to learn more about the field. Would it be possible to schedule 20 to 30 minutes with you at your convenience to ask a few questions and get your advice on how best to prepare to enter the field?" The first day of OTAs brought some drama to One Buc Place. Vernon Hargreaves sits out and BA takes to the media to send him a message. The first of many public floggings, we’re certain. Was BA sending Gerald McCoy a message from the owner’s meeting in Arizona? Did McCoy fail the test? Molly ponders. Vita Vea catches Carmen Vitali’s eye. Beau Allen emerges as leader amongst the defensive linemen. Jameis Winston second pass of practice gets picked off by none other than Devin White. Players present at OTAs but not participating: Demar Dotson, Justin Evans, Cameron Brate, Jack Cichy, Evan Smith. Draft picks Sean Bunting-Murphy and Jamel Dean practice with the first teams. Robert Mathis protege David Kenney stands out as potential diamond in the rough – see Greg Auman’s latest piece on the break-out tryout player. Defensive line coach Kacy Rodgers receives some unexpected praise from Bucs’ media. Deone Bucannon and MJ Stewart’s interesting position designations. Bruce Arians comments on adjustments defensive backs must make from college to the NFL. Buccaneers release Isaiah Seawright, Malik Taylor, Israel Helms, Kerwynn Williams. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/buccaneers-observer/message

Q-Tip. The Abstract. He’s not going to say it about himself outside of the the playful banter of a rhyme, so I’ll say it: He’s one of the most recognizable voices and influential minds in the history of hip-hop music. Q-Tip is probably best known as part of A Tribe Called Quest, a group that emerged in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. Hits like “Can I Kick It?” “Scenario” and “Bonita Applebum” cemented Tribe’s place as innovators, both in their lyrical cadence and the way they used sampling and a broad mix of musical genres to make something new. A Tribe Called Quest released its final album in November 2016. Member Phife Dog, Malik Taylor, passed away from diabetes complications earlier that year. I talked to Tip about his new music, his other creative efforts, mourning Phife, and the state of the music business. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

What was initially intended to be just a quick, fairly typical mix in honor of Malik Taylor, aka Phife Dawg of A Tribe Called Quest evolved into "I am Phife: His Words + His Rhymes," a 2-hour tribute to the 5-foot Assassin that includes all of (and only) Phife's verses from the 3 classic ATCQ albums, along with interview clips and the genre-spanning music used to create the Quest soundscape HipHop heads fell in love with more than 25 years ago! — Provided exclusively to the Get Off My Lawn Podcast from DJ Boolix (@DJBoolix)
We’re focusing on ‘KIDNEYS and DIABETES’ with musical inspiration from A Tribe Called Quest. Phife Dawg, born Malik Taylor, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in May of 1990. Experiencing constant thirst and bathroom visits, his grandmother, a nurse, tested him for diabetes after a performance in Connecticut. Initially, Phife admitted he did not take his diagnosis seriously, and maintained his same lifestyle. "It's really a sickness," Taylor said in Beats, Rhymes & Life, Michael Rapaport's candid 2011 documentary on the group. "Like straight-up drugs. I'm just addicted to sugar." Phife's initial resistance to treatment made it necessary for him to go on dialysis followed by a kidney transplant in 2008. This past March he died at age 45. “When you learn you have diabetes, the first word you have to learn is acceptance,” he said during an interview with dLife TV hoping to encourage others to learn from his mistakes. June’s Diabetes Late Nite podcast guests include MaryAnn Nicolay DTR, Dr. Braxton Cosby, Patricia Addie-Gentle RN, CDE, Poet Lorraine Brooks, Funny Man Mike, Arnon Krongrad, MD, Catherine Lawrence and Mama Rose Marie. We will be featuring selected songs from their first album, People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm, released in 1990, courtesy of SONY MUSIC.

Today we pay homage to two departed legends of music. First, we have Don Cheadle, star and director of the Miles Davis biopic “Miles Ahead.” Then, DJ Bobbito Garcia remembers his friend Malik Taylor, AKA Phife Dawg of A Tribe Called Quest who passed away last week. Dave’s ‘Choice Words’ are call for NBA Commissioner to move the 2017 All-Star weekend away from Charlotte in light of a recent North Carolina anti-trans law, and a somber ‘Just Stand Up’ goes to Dave’s departed friend Kevin Turner. "Money, please, I get loose off a orange juice!" - Phife That's my first iPod in the cover art, which was laser-engraved with "Beats, rhymes, and life" - so you get just some idea of how important A Tribe Called Quest's music is to me. The passing of Malik Taylor aka Phife Dawg this month at the age of just 45 was a huge shock to the entire Hip-Hop nation and the tributes have been absolutely pouring out. With him very much in mine, I did a late re-plan of the episode to make sure some of his fantastic work with Tribe could be included; it was only right. RIP Mutty Ranks! As well as taking you down memory lane with those tracks, we also honour Biggie, Nate Dogg, and Sean Price (who's birthday would have been this month), and give you plenty more besides. A lot of work went in, and I hope you enjoy it. One podcast recommendation this month, as mentioned on the show - The Light Podcast, and especially the track-by-track breakdown of Biggie's "Ready To Die".
In this episode J (@HipHopTaliban) and East Coast Dre (@AndreCole) pay tribute to Malik Taylor, aka Phife Dawg of A Tribe Called Quest, with the first ever Phifeography — an examination of every verse ever spit by the the 5-Foot Assassin on ATCQ’s 3 classic albums. We also discover one of East Coast Dre’s dirty little HipHop secrets! 00:19:10 — Weatherman Tribute 01:33:45 — Hit me on the hip 01:49:59 — Hot Sex, Lies, and Videotape 02:47:30 — Phife and Dilla
This is a few Selections from the funkiest hip hop Diabetic. My man Malik Taylor was an integral par of one of the most influential groups in Hip hop History... Enjoy RIP........
The death of Phife Dawg of A Tribe Called Quest has died and Hip-Hop mourns. AllHipHop and super DJ Just Dizle have joined forces to celebrate the life and times of the Queen-bred emcee. Phife was more than the other MC not named Q-Tip in ATCQ. He was an invaluable asset to the group's identity and a fixture in Hip-Hop. His words: “Hip-Hop will never die, yo.” Neither will Malik Taylor. Through the music and in our hearts, he remains. Enjoy
