The Black Lincoln Collective Comedy Podcast: Episode #94 on PopCulturePros (or #179 if you're counting like a true masochist)Title: BS Burrito and the Emotional Support MonkeyGet ready for another round of completely unnecessary chaos as the BLC crew returns with a fresh batch of laughs, questionable food choices, and emotional support animal hot takes.Fred kicks things off by recounting his run-in with a convenience store "cheeseburger wrap" that was so vile, it's now known only as the “baby shit burrito.” Was it food? Was it a prank? Is Fred okay? The answers are murky, but the laughter is real.Next, we dive into the bizarre world of emotional support animals. Monkeys? Parrots? That one guy with the emotional support alligator? Nothing is off-limits as we brainstorm the weirdest pets and most ridiculous dog names this side of sanity. (Spoiler: someone suggests a poodle named Colonel Dipshit.)Then it's time for your favorite form of therapy—ranting about road construction. Detours, orange cones, and grown men with walkie-talkies pretending to direct traffic... we turn your daily commute nightmares into comedy gold. And of course, it wouldn't be an episode without Fredline News, where the headlines are real, but the takes are anything but. From bizarre crimes to head-scratching trends, we're here to make sense of the nonsense—and fail spectacularly. So hit play and join us for an episode so unhinged, it might actually be medicinal. It's BS Burrito and the Emotional Support Monkey, and yes, it's as stupidly amazing as it sounds.

David Koehn David Koehn is the founder and president of Koehn Outdoor, formerly DM Koehn Landscaping, Inc. David learned the construction and green industry at an early age by working with his father Douglas W. Koehn at his Class A Contracting business in Franklin, VA. After receiving a 2-year degree in industrial technology from a local community college, David moved from Franklin, VA to Jacksonville, FL in 2001 and started DM Koehn Landscaping in 2004, when he was only 24 years old. In its humble beginnings, David's business was a one-man residential mowing operation. With the company's success, David added more employees, equipment, and trucks and began focusing growing the business commercially. Early in life, David was taught that, “when you do something, you do it right and with integrity” — a life lesson that has become one of the Koehn Outdoor's core values. Over time, Koehn Outdoor has developed into a market-leading commercial landscape management company with over 120 full-time employees. The company has developed award-winning hardscapes and beautiful amenity centers throughout the state of Florida. Having adapted a culture of continuous learning, training, and strategic planning, David and the Koehn Outdoor leadership team hold many green industry certifications and licenses and are involved in many industry professional associations. In 2018, Koehn Outdoor engaged with green industry specialist Envisor Consulting. The Envisor team holds leadership accountable for achieving goals and maintaining a level of customer service that is unmatched in Northeast Florida — which coincides with David's personal promise to his clients that Koehn Outdoor provides the most customer value for the most competitive price possible. When not working, David enjoys spending time with his two younger children Leah and Lucas. They enjoy traveling, going to the beach, church services at Eleven 22 church, and being involved in the local Jacksonville Beach community events. Kurt Bland Kurt Bland grew up in Apex, NC as an avid outdoorsman, working a variety of jobs in his family's landscaping business. He attended North Carolina State University and earned bachelor's degrees in Agri-Business Management and Horticulture Science. He began his management career with Del Conte Landscaping in Northern California. Since returning to Bland Landscaping Company (BLC) 23 years ago, Kurt has led BLC's southeastern expansion in partnership with his brother Matt Bland and their executive team. The two brothers recapitalized their 49-year-old family-owned business with Prospect Partners in 2017 and have built one of the country's most well respected commercial exterior service platforms, focused on landscape grounds management and aquatic services. As a platform, BLC has acquired and successfully integrated 6 landscape add-on acquisitions along with 2 aquatic add-on acquisitions under the DBA Foster Lake and Pond Management. These investments have provided liquidity to fund the retirement of ten previous owners who were ready to retire. In 2024, Prospect Partners exited their investment in BLC, allowing Kurt and his team to join the private equity portfolio of Comvest Partners. With more than $13B of assets under management, Comvest Partners will enable BLC to fulfill its vision of building the most successful landscape and aquatic services platform in the Southeastern United States. An engaged and forward-thinking industry leader, Kurt speaks on a variety of business-related topics at universities and industry events. He is respected as an authority in leading a multi-generation family business, succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, and entrepreneurial business strategy. Kurt volunteers as Vice Chair of the North Carolina Irrigation Contractors Licensing Board and is a major supporter of The Frankie Lemmon School. In his down time, you will find Kurt and his wife Meredith on, under, or near the water, traveling abroad, going to a concert, or sharing laughs around a table with their friends and 3 black labrador retrievers.

we dive into two fascinating stories. First, we explore a mysterious light captured in the skies over Norway, where eyewitnesses describe an extreme thump followed by a strange flying object that no one can explain. Could it be a UFO, or is there another explanation? Then, we dive into updates on the Breakthrough Listen Candidate 1 (BLC 1) signal. Professor Simon Holland, who's been on the show, insists that this could be an actual extraterrestrial technosignature from Proxima Centauri, the closest star system to Earth. Are scientists about to confirm this monumental discovery? We'll unpack everything and see what's really going on behind the scenes.Podcast published on 25 Oct 2024.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/lehto-files-investigating-uaps--5990774/support.
In this episode of Stronger Marriage Connection, hosts Dr. Dave Schramm and Dr. Liz Hale sit down with Dr. Debi Gilmore, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, to discuss Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Dr. Gilmore shares insights into how EFT helps couples strengthen their emotional bonds, navigate pain, and foster connection. She also offers practical tips couples can use to improve their relationships, including the “Four Mantras of Love” and the “ARE” model (Accessible, Responsive, Engaged). This episode is packed with strategies to help couples rediscover connection and navigate challenges in their relationships. About Dr. Debi Gilmore: Dr. Debi Gilmore is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, public speaker, professional educator, author, and co-owner of The EFT Counseling and Education Center, a large mental health clinic specializing in couples therapy serving Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, and Arizona. Debi trains therapists seeking licensure or certification as an Emotionally Focused Therapist. She is co-founder and developer of the Building A Lasting Connection™ and Lasting Connection System™ mats. The Building A Lasting Connection™ (BLC) relationship program is based on her doctoral dissertation focused on premarital education. The Lasting Connection System™ mats and BLC program are being used by therapists and workshop facilitators across the world. Insights: Debi: "The takeaway is I need to be better. I need to listen more intently, I need to love more abundantly, and I need to forgive more swiftly. So I'm going to say what I'm taking away is I will apply those things to myself." Dave: "I love acronyms. It's the R, the A, R, E, is it? Make sure I got to write the accessible, responsive and engaged." Liz: "It's really a combination of what the two of you have both talked about, I love that. What's the glory in your story? Dave, that's so beautiful. And for Debbie to suggest, when she first sits down with a couple, is to say, tell me about the first time you saw her. Tell me about the first time you saw him. For any of us to really go back in time, whether we've been married a year, 10 years, 30 years, 50 years, to remember those earlier times. They're precious, right? And they're powerful at the same time." Our intrepid hosts Parker, Fred, and Alan (beaming in from the cosmic void), are back with their signature blend of nonsense, wit, and the occasional profound moment—usually by accident. This week, they're riffing on everything from the Super Bowl's unforgettable halftime show to the somber news of Carl Weathers' passing, a true friend of the show and now a first-ballot Black Lincoln Collective Hall of Famer. But that's just the tip of the iceberg. Hold onto your hats as the trio navigates through the murky waters of football conspiracies, the ethics of interacting with unhoused individuals, and a movie review that might just have you questioning your life choices. Yes, we're talking about "Saltburn"—the film that's as bizarre as it is compelling, and our hosts have plenty to say about it. And because no episode is complete without a dose of reality, Alan's on-the-road food adventures continue to tantalize and mystify. From Maryland's fried chicken (not the state) to buckets of fish and parking lot strategies, he's got the lowdown on where to feast in the low country. So whether you're here for the sports, the laughs, the life lessons, or just to feel like you're hanging out with your most entertaining friends, Episode 129 has got you covered. Mark & Steve discuss the Bill Liebowitz Classic, known as the BLC, a former regional yoyo contest held in Los Angeles, California. They talk about contest culture in general, an old beef from when the two of them didn't agree on something for like 10 years, and where they think contests should be heading.
