EPISODE 155: BACK FROM THE DEAD Authors T. Fox Dunham and Phil Thomas have risen from the dead—well not really. The show’s just been on pause for a few months. But as we approach Spring 2021, they return with new ghost stories, horror fiction and witty banter. After chatting, they play a ghost story sent in by UK crime author Fraser Massey. Fraser is one of the authors included in Coming Through in Waves, a charity crime anthology based on the music of Pink Floyd. With his effective gritty style, Fraser tells the story of his visit to the grave of British music producer, Joe the Meek. Then, Fox shares some ghost stories from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Guess which president’s spirit has been encountered the most. And finally, English folksinger David Walton closes the show by narrating Nancy Kilpatrick’s Necromimicos—an eerie fiction set in a Parisian cemetery. Elaine Pascale and Nancy Kilpatrick return for the second installment of this special Women in Horror Month two-parter about the eternal appeal (and seductive allure) of the vampire.

In the first installment of this special Women in Horror Month two-parter, authors Elaine Pascale and Nancy Kilpatrick take an in-depth look at writing vampire stories in the modern age. Do bloodsuckers still have bite in 2020? Elaine and Nancy investigate.
EPISODE 134: I MOVED ON TOP OF A FREAKING NATIVE BURIAL GROUND IN LANCASTER Phil and Fox are back for their 5th season in 2020! Author T. Fox Dunham has moved to Lancaster, PA—a beautiful area of Pennsylvania known for its bucolic setting, Amish community and a shadow world of ghosts, devils and monsters. For the show’s return in 2020, Fox researched the city for local ghost stories and discovered the unnerving history of his apartment’s location. In the late 1600s, the Paxton clan massacred the remaining members of the Conestoga Tribe, and the city buried their remains in mass grave located at Chestnut and Cherry Street, which has lead to many ghost stories in places like the Duke Street Parking Lot and the Fulton Theater. And of course, it’s where Fox and his wife live! Already, they’ve spotted specters in the basement. On episode 134, T. Fox Dunham and Phil Thomas share just a few of the local ghost stories in Lancaster and talk about some of the monsters seen in the wilderness. English folksinger David Walton narrates a true ghost story from amazing author, Nancy Kilpatrick. Did her mother-in-law use a doll to send a message from the next world? And they play an excerpt from John Foster’s eerie new novel set in New England from Gray Matter Press: The Isle. It’s going to be a great year of ghost stories and horror! Nancy Kilpatrick is an author of horror fiction. Many of her 18 novels, over 200 short stories, and anthologies have been about vampires. Her breadth and depth of knowledge of the entire vampire sub-genre of horror is staggering, being able to speak about it with eloquence and good humor, without at all belittling the subject or its fans.We met up with Nancy Kilpatrick at Con*Cept 2011, a science fiction and fantasy convention held in Montreal, every autumn; this year, she was the guest of honor. She gave a great, lively interview that we are proud to share with you in this episode.
