Why the Law of Attraction Sucks

Awaken Beauty Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Sep 21, 2021 9:43

The LAW of attraction SUCKS. It's not something you can turn on or offThe truth is the Law of Attraction is like gravity- it cannot be turned on or off. An apple seed has the coding to be planted into the ground and become an Apple tree, it will not turn into a carrot. I used to think if I focused on all the things I needed to do to gain my success and take all the action, no matter what I did I always ended up in a place of lack or not good enough. As a “striver” or “achiever” regardless of the steps I took or the success I had it would never have been good enough because I was always coming from a focal point of lack. When you create from this place you will never be able to have it. You Cannot plant seeds of Scarcity and Expect AbundanceThere are so many strategies to think about attraction but none of them matter because you will block the outcome or desired result based on your old beliefs and ideas. If you create from an old place no matter what you do that will be your end result. If you are planting seeds or beliefs of scarcity no matter what the outcome will be that. Even if you take massive action and work hard to achieve your goals if they come from a place of unworthiness or any other tactic of self-sabotage the end result will be inevitable. You have to be it Before you see itIn order to get into the resonance of your end result you must feel it and become it first. For example, if you think about what you want (I want to create an abundant business that supports women) you have to feel into the end result of this and the action steps taken based on the feeling will lead me in the direction of that end result. It's amazing what has shifted since I received this piece of advice. I had just recently come out of another sabotage pattern and I felt like “Wow these brilliant entrepreneurs just know what they want and just go for it… they are it it's in their bones. They don't get scared when they lose or gain money, they are always the same…” I started to understand the depth of their attraction point. You are Attracting What You Are!RIGHT NOWIf you take a look around your life it is THE access to your point of attraction. You are always creating based on your deeper belief and feeling. If you don't like what you see, if you feel like a victim, or you don't know why it always is this way- DON'T WORRY!!!! There is NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU! This is one of the problems I have with the “healing” and “Self-development” world- a lot of money is made off you having problems or need to “fix” yourself to become worthy. Worthy of what? Love? Your Dreams and Goals” Your Desires? Do you ever look at a baby and tell them they need to become more worthy of love? NO!!!! So why would you need to become more worthy? And to top it off what you focus on your create. Do you really want to focus on the past, your pain, your trauma, your victimization and keep creating more of that for yourself? Or would you rather align with your end result, tap into that feeling and take steps from that place to get you where you want to be?Simply all you need to change is your Point of Attraction. And I'll leave you with this as well.  What you say - you also create.  Your language has a quantum energetic frequency that pulls in or pushes away your desires. Your frequency of your most predonminat thought will lead to your behavior. If I say DONT look at your foot, your mind does not hear, "DONT,"  - it hears, LOOK at your foot. SO internally you want one thing, and your underlying thoughts and patterns are leading to another result - UNTIL we re-create your attraction point. THIS IS the ONE THING YOU CAN CONTROL.SO...The LAW of attraction SUCKS. It's not something you can turn on or offThe truth is the Law of Attraction is like gravity- it cannot be turned on or off. BUT WHAT DOESNT SUCK is when you actually create change internally, remove the old beliefs, and what you don't want in life - we CHOOSE a new ATTRACTION POINT. SO in reality, the PDW has ultimately messed us all up through having to constantly fix ourselves, which sends us back down the path of who we are not and need to become, and its simply wrong. SO if you hear what I'm dropping - and understand that the law of gravity is always at work - and want to change your new magnetic mind so you can levitate your energy  and create a life you love, then drop me a line and I'll show you how.

Happily Ever After is a Fairy Tale My guest today is Kara Haug. She is the creator of Grace Unbound and is a practicing sex educator with a B.A. in Psychology and a Masters in Theological Studies, as well as a certificate in Sexual Health Education from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Her role mainly centers on teaching youth about shameless sexuality. She does a lot of workshops and is doing important work shifting the narrative on sexuality. And in this episode, she talks about the fairytale misconceptions that all women often face in their daily lives. Because there are cultural reinforcements that peg a certain brand of story for women, many are going into marriages and motherhood with inflated expectations, only to find that things are much more challenging than they originally thought they would be. This episode explores this topic and offers some solutions for women who are struggling. Listen along. The Biggest Misconception that Women Have About Sex and Sexuality Kara says that women have been given the misconception from a young age of this giant fairy tale image that bundles romance and partnership. And she says that as reach adulthood we are hit with the reality that “the chemicals in our brain have expiration dates”. In short, women are often fed the story that romance is going to be the easiest thing in the world. It's just a matter of finding the right partner and living happily ever after, but the reality of it is much different. Romantic partnerships are a lot of work. The ‘Goal' of Motherhood and Long-Term Partnerships Kara also talks about the goals that women are meant to aspire to–the script they are given about motherhood and long-term partnerships–never really factor in the tough moments after the wedding or birth. No one really prepares women for how difficult the whole dynamic is going to be – especially if you are juggling a career, kids, and a complicated relationship. Your marriage and children won't unlock an infinite wellspring of energy and motivation from within you. Most of the time it's going to be hard, and it will be far from the fairy tale expectations that we see perpetuated in society. Struggles With Sexuality as a Women There are still considerable struggles for women to claim their desire and exist comfortably in the open while at the same time claiming their sexual yearnings. Younger women are still being labeled as ‘sluts' in schools if they explore their sexuality, so there's still an uphill climb that doesn't usually end until adulthood…and sometimes never at all. The Biggest Threat to Marriages? Kara thinks that because of how involved marriage (and motherhood) can be, the biggest threat to marriages is when two partners shift their dynamic from romantic lovers to a business partner type of relationship. And identities get lost amidst all of the chaos. Kara says that prioritizing our identities as romantic partners is the most important thing. She also suggests regular conversations as a way to switch off the autopilot and reclaim your identity – despite the busy, daily happenings of adulthood. She says that even if it's just a date night every week, or sitting down and having a conversation about sexual or other relationship needs every month. That practice can save marriages from turning into business partnerships. The Hardest Part for Kara Kara said that she had past traumas resurface while she was breastfeeding her child. She states that many women also experience these traumas around their bodies when they become mothers. She says more on the subject. Listen along! There's Nothing Wrong With You! Being in a relationship is extremely challenging. Add motherhood and the constant stress of raising a family and you'll hardly have any free time to spare. Just because you are struggling and finding the whole experience challenging does not mean there is something wrong with you. It's completely normal to feel like there is. Don't worry about it, you're doing completely fine. What Are Women Saying the Most as Time Goes on As mothers, Kara says that the most frequent exploration is pleasure, and being comfortable with exploring that as a regular goal in their relationship. In addition, a lot of women are struggling with body image and wanting to feel desirable, so that is a continual anxiety-inducing reality of being a woman in the 21st century. Shifting the Narrative Kara shares that the narrative should be shifted into the direction of more independence and identity for women. She communicates that to her young daughter that it's nice to have a partner, but she doesn't have to rely on a male partner to give her an identity. She talks a lot to the youth and she found that even doing simple eye contact exercises made them uncomfortable. So a part of her job as a sex educator means that Kara is continually trying to teach the benefits of eye contact, communication, vulnerability, and consent to these younger individuals to keep shifting the narrative. And she says that as reach adulthood we are hit with the reality that “the chemicals in our brain have expiration dates”. In short, women are often fed the story that romance is going to be the easiest thing in the world. It’s just a matter of finding the right partner and living happily ever after, but the reality of it is much different. Romantic partnerships are a lot of work. The ‘Goal’ of Motherhood and Long-Term Partnerships Kara also talks about the goals that women are meant to aspire to–the script they are given about motherhood and long-term partnerships–never really factor in the tough moments after the wedding or birth. No one really prepares women for how difficult the whole dynamic is going to be – especially if you are juggling a career, kids, and a complicated relationship. Your marriage and children won’t unlock an infinite wellspring of energy and motivation from within you. Most of the time it’s going to be hard, and it will be far from the fairy tale expectations that we see perpetuated in society. Struggles With Sexuality as a Women There are still considerable struggles for women to claim their desire and exist comfortably in the open while at the same time claiming their sexual yearnings. Younger women are still being labeled as ‘sluts’ in schools if they explore their sexuality, so there’s still an uphill climb that doesn’t usually end until adulthood…and sometimes never at all. She says that even if it’s just a date night every week, or sitting down and having a conversation about sexual or other relationship needs every month. That practice can save marriages from turning into business partnerships. The Hardest Part for Kara Kara said that she had past traumas resurface while she was breastfeeding her child. She states that many women also experience these traumas around their bodies when they become mothers. She says more on the subject. Listen along! There’s Nothing Wrong With You! Being in a relationship is extremely challenging. Add motherhood and the constant stress of raising a family and you’ll hardly have any free time to spare. Just because you are struggling and finding the whole experience challenging does not mean there is something wrong with you. It’s completely normal to feel like there is. Don’t worry about it, you’re doing completely fine. She communicates that to her young daughter that it’s nice to have a partner, but she doesn’t have to rely on a male partner to give her an identity. And in this episode, she talks about the fairytale misconceptions that all women often face in their daily lives. www.alexandraharbushka.com Leave a review: http://bit.ly/ReviewSexMoneyandFood PSST.  I will be reading your reviews in an upcoming episode so if you have any questions ask away :-) The Sex, Money, and Food Podcast   Sexuality, Music, and Entrepreneurship   Welcome to this of The Sex, Money and Food podcast! Have you considered what would shift if your life if you could tap into your sexual energy in every moment of your day? If you haven’t you will be after this episode! Today we’re talking with Calvin Correli about living from our sexual energy in every area of our lives.   Calvin is an artist, entrepreneur, and the CEO of Simplero. He is passionate about helping online business owners do exactly what brings them most alive. He is also a healer and is currently working on bringing all of his talents -- including music, spirituality and personal growth - into an exciting new service for entrepreneurs.   On this edition of the Sex, Money, and Food Podcast, we talk about how Calvin fought against his innate nature for so long, how every act of loving, and supportive sexual intimacy between men and women heals the global collective, and why living from our sexual energy is a natural state for everyone.   More About This Show   Calvin grew up in Denmark and recalls a painful childhood of not being understood nor seen by his dad, and being an emotional caretaker for his mom. His parents also did not have a sexul or intimate relationship, and as a result he grew up with a self-described “messed up” relationship with women.   On this episode of the show we talk about how he worked to heal his intimate relationships, and how he now sees the beauty in a woman with only appreciation for her beauty and not the resentment he had felt in the past or the need to act on his desire for her beauty.   We dig into those topics a little later on but the first thing I asked him to share was how (and why) we can use our sexual energy throughout our day and in every area of our lives.   Calvin has found it is fun and playful to bring sexual energy into every relationship - not in a way that is violating to someone's boundaries but in a way that reflects the reality of our ever-present sexual energy. He explains that by suppressing our natural sexual energy we make it worse; suppression and avoidance doesn't make it better.   In fact, he says violations only happen because we have trauma around our sexuality. If every guy was cool with just feeling sexual desire and energy knowing that it doesn't mean it has to be acted on and that he can just feel the desire then he wouldn’t violate any woman.   He goes on to describe how men and women are different, whether in the workplace or elsewhere. Aside from the obvious physical differences, the masculine energy is more about doing, fixing, and the like, while the feminine energy is about creation, collaboration, sharing, etc.   And he also describes how the purpose of a woman’s orgasm is different from the purpose of a man’s. Women can orgasm in different ways and can access different areas than men can. In fact, sometimes when a woman has a particularly deep and/or intense orgasm she cries. Those tears are allowing her to open up deeper and deeper layers of her own femininity and the collective feminine.   Calvin says the relationship between the global masculine and feminine has been horrible for so many years, but every time a man and woman get together in an open, loving space it is a tremendous opportunity for collective healing between the masculine and the feminine.   And if we lived from our sexual energy rape, sexual assault and other violations would diminish (if not disappear). He explains why that’s true and how he shifted his own perception of women from caretaking and resentment to one of appreciation.   You’ll also hear why sexual energy is spiritual energy, why we don’t need to abstain from pleasurable experiences like sex and food in order to be spiritual and why he’d outlaw guilt if he could! We dig into those scintillating topics and more on this episode of Sex, Money and Food with Calvin Correli.   Tweetable: “Sex is deeply spiritual, and spirituality is deeply sexual.” -  Calvin Correli Calvin Answers The Questions   Q: Rank the following in order: Sex, Money, Food? A: That’s a tough one! Life without food is only so long. You can get along without money. Sex, food, money.   Q: There is nothing better in life than… A: The first word that pops into my head was love. It feels a little cliche but I guess it’s true!   Q: Your ultimate pleasure in life is? A:  Sex is definitely up there! But there’s also a deeper feeling like feeling whole and complete and in union with everything, which sex can be a part of that.   Q: What does self worth of minus 1 billion/true anarchy smell like to you? A:  Rank! Like in a dark, humid, moist basement room that has old stuff in it and hasn’t been aired out for a long time.   Q: What is a mistake or a circumstance did you go through regarding sex, money and food that is has allowed you grow and learn from. Or is there something that you would say...I will never do that again! A: I feel like I’m still doing all of this. Money was really tough for a long until I realized I was using lack of money to avoid looking inside at what wasn’t working with my work life and what I really wanted to do. I was actually scared of looking at what I really wanted to do because I was afraid I might not like it and it might not be what I wanted it to be. I really wanted to be a different person than it turns out I am - but now I kind of like it!   Episode Resources Calvin Correli’s website Calvin Correli on Twitter Vagina: A New Biography, by Naomi Wolf There’s Nothing Wrong With You, by Cheri Huber The Red Paper Clip story Connect with me on Instagram Sign up for my Five Day Self-love Challenge Subscribe to the Sex Money and Food Podcast on iTunes

Mindfulness Meets Bullying As a child, I was bullied quite a bit. I think people quickly figured out I was a pretty easy victim. Throughout the whole thing, mindfulness pretty much from anyone or anywhere, mindfulness in me and really seeing what was going on [would have made a difference]. It personally wasn't about me. Mindfulness in any of the teachers who were actually present to what was going on. Mindfulness in my parents. Anyone of those places would have made a big difference. What tended to happen was that, if they say something, people would be like, 'oh we've gotta do something' and then there would be parental intervention that was just not helpful at all, it just makes it worse. Being with me and how I was feeling, them and how they were feeling, Any of those things would have made a huge difference. There were some kids in the class just above me, for some reason they thought I was the funniest thing in the world to go after. Anytime they saw me around school they would hit me. They would just be looking out for me [to hit me]. During wintertime, I would never make it outside when there was snow because the minute they saw me, there would just be snow all over. Advice for Newbie Pay attention to yourself more than anything. Listen to other people and get inspired. Trust your own sense of what resonates with you because we're all alike in many ways but we're all different and what's gonna work for you is not necessarily what's gonna work for somebody else. Allow yourself to be selective, allow yourself to see what you resonate with and pick that. Do expose yourself to a bunch of stuff. That's helpful.
