Why do so many relationships, despite the best intentions, end up stuck in cycles of hurt, disappointment, or disconnection? We search for "the one," hope for a soulmate to fulfill us, and cling to romantic ideals—even as we find ourselves repeating old patterns and feeling powerless when things get tough. The real challenge, it seems, isn't just finding love, but learning how to nurture it consciously and responsibly. What if the secret isn't about changing others, but transforming how we relate, both to ourselves and to our loved ones? In this episode, discover how to break free from the unconscious habits that sabotage intimacy, shift out of victim mindsets, and reclaim your personal power within relationships. Learn why conscious love is an ongoing practice—not just a feeling—and explore actionable principles for moving past reactivity into mature, collaborative connection. Through insights on emotional intelligence, responsibility, healing past wounds, and embracing vulnerability, you'll gain tools to create deeper, more authentic bonds and turn your relationship into a dynamic space for growth. David Bennett's story starts in a Sydney pub where a supernatural encounter transformed a gay atheist activist into one of today's most thoughtful voices on faith and sexuality. Now an Oxford-trained theologian, David helps church leaders navigate what might be the most challenging pastoral question we face—without defaulting to culture war scripts that leave everyone exhausted. What makes this conversation different is David's refusal to choose sides. He introduces a framework of "solidarity and holy fellowship" that holds radical inclusion and biblical holiness together, creating space for people to wrestle authentically with hard questions. If you've felt trapped between being dismissed as either too affirming or too exclusionary, David offers language for a third way forward, one that doesn't sacrifice either welcome or conviction. This is pastoral theology from someone who lives the tension daily, offering church leaders practical wisdom for walking with people through messy, beautiful journeys toward Jesus.David Bennett is author of "A War of Loves" and holds a PhD in Christian ethics from Oxford University.Want more resources for your leadership journey? The teachers agree that students need more accurate and efficient methods, but many still believe offering multiple strategies only adds confusion. Instead of pushing a solution, the school's principal is taking a different approach: creating space for math epiphanies, building content knowledge, and shifting belief through structured staff learning. If you're a school leader or coach supporting math fluency in your school or district, this episode unpacks what it really takes to create shared commitment—not through mandates, but through deep learning.Listeners Will:Learn how one school is building teacher buy-in for strategy-based fluencyUnderstand why resistance to multiple strategies often stems from gaps in math content knowledgeSee how protected staff time is being used to shift beliefs and build instructional confidenceDiscover practical moves (like ICQ protocols and fluency-focused video routines) that create space for reflection and dialogueReflect on the dual role school leaders must play—as both facilitators and math thinkersIf your school or district is working toward stronger fluency and deeper math learning, press play to explore what it really takes to lead that shift. Not sure what matters most when designing math improvement plans? Today, we're continuing our series on sharing the gospel, and what we're covering today is about the Great Commission. Have you heard that term before? Christianity's great at using terms the general public isn't familiar with, and sometimes we use terms even we aren't familiar with as believers. A recent study shows that more than 50% of U.S. churchgoers don't know what that term Great Commission means. And when asked if they had heard of the Great Commission, half of U.S. churchgoers say they don't know that term. Maybe our priorities need tweaking.Matthew 28:19 says, “Go and make disciples of all nations. Baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” And though the Great Commission is not a term used in the Bible, it does describe the command Jesus gave us to share the Good News of His sacrifice for our sins. In this way, He provides a way for people to be reconciled to God, and this is the greatest news anyone will ever hear. Christians should be excited about this action plan.Matthew chapter seven indicates that the path leading to God is narrow, and that many are on the broad path that leads away from God. This truth should motivate us as Christians to fulfill Christ's Great Commission. And the Bible tells us that this activity will have an endpoint. We should have a sense of urgency about that. The Gospel of Jesus Christ was literally born in the Middle East. Jesus' disciples took His words to heart and began preaching and teaching about Him in Israel, then to all the regions around the Mediterranean basin. From there, the Gospel spread quickly into Europe, and beyond.Today, even with all our technology and hundreds of years of sending missionaries to remote parts of the world, not everyone has heard the Good News about Jesus. We have our marching orders. It's time to move. Let's pray.Father, we know that no matter what time is passing. We want all people to come to a saving faith in Your Son Jesus. Remind us daily that we should have a sense of urgency about sharing your good gift with everyone we come into contact with. In Jesus' name, amen. Change your shirt, and you can change the world! Dr. Kurt Ver Beek In this episode of the Nonprofit Leadership podcast, host Dr. Rob Harter sits down with Dr. Kurt Ver Beek — longtime sociologist, adjunct professor at Calvin University, and co‑founder of the Honduran‑based nonprofit Association for a More Just Society (ASJ). Kurt has lived in Honduras for 30 + years and helps lead ASJ's mission of advancing justice through structural reform rather than simply charity. Their discussion explores how nonprofits can transition from short‑term relief approaches to tackling systemic issues, particularly in contexts of high violence, corruption, and migration. Key Topics Include: The motivation behind founding ASJ in Honduras and shifting focus from relief to justice‑oriented work. The four‑part strategy ASJ employs: investigation, alliance building, communications, and lobbying/incidence. Real‑world examples from Honduras: tackling police corruption, reducing homicide rates, auditing government institutions. Navigating donor expectations when working on long‑term systemic change rather than immediate tangible outcomes. Insights on the migration‑to‑the‑U.S. debate: root causes in origin countries like Honduras, and how systems reform might reduce migration pressures. Reflections on international aid: what works, what doesn't, and how U.S. federal funding cuts are reshaping NGOs' strategies. The distinction between charity (relief), development (capacity building) and justice (systemic transformation) — and why justice work is harder, riskier, but essential. “Entrepreneurship is scary as well as compelling in a weird way.” – Shay Prosser That's the quiet admission of someone who's lived the tension of building something that matters—between fear & purpose, risk & reward—and kept moving anyway. Shay started in chaos: a newborn on the floor, the economy unraveling, & a business idea that couldn't wait for permission. It wasn't perfect timing; it was purpose knocking early. When her one-to-one financial coaching couldn't reach enough people, she rebuilt the model—bringing financial education into workplaces & later onto military bases with the USO. That pivot became her pattern: find the gap, build the bridge. So when business owners began coming to her not just for answers but for direction, she created spaces to think differently—to set bold goals, make smart moves, & scale with clarity, courage, & connection. Today, she helps business owners do what she's always done—move forward, even when the path isn't clear. Not with ten-year dreams, but ninety-day wins. Progress, not perfection. Because growth doesn't come from having it all together—it comes from showing up anyway. To learn more, connect with her through North 12 Partners or Birthing of Giants. Shay reminds us what Amelia Earhart said best: “The most effective way to do it is to do it.”

What does it truly mean to have a King? In Week 4 of our Timeline message series, Pastor Dave Mudd dives deep into the heart of the Davidic Covenant from 2 Samuel 7. This message, focused on the theme of Allegiance and Kingship, challenges us to ask: Is Jesus merely your Savior, or is He the Lord and King of your life?Discover how King David's glorious but broken story ultimately points to the true and better King, Jesus. Learn how we are called to fully detach our worldly allegiance and experience the restoration that comes from having Jesus on the Eternal Throne of our lives. Find out how you can commit to Christian Service by reflecting His grace as you live as a "temporary resident" in this world.Key Takeaways to Help You Live for the King:- Understand the Davidic Covenant: Trace the gospel from creation to David, recognizing the eternal promise God made to restore humanity through one of David's descendants (Jesus).- Determine Your Allegiance: Examine your heart and actions to ensure your ultimate loyalty is to Jesus, not to worldly desires, goods, or lies, and learn to live as a "foreigner" on mission.- Embrace Your Need for Grace: Understand that David's failures demonstrate that human perfection cannot fulfill God's promises; your brokenness points you back to your need for the true King's grace.- Reflect the True King Through Service: Discover your role as a "shepherd in your generation"—to lead, serve, and worship with a humble heart, reflecting the King's character in your daily life and in unity with the church.- Move Beyond 'Savior' to 'King': Stop settling for Jesus as only "fire insurance," and invite Him to be the Lord and King over your entire mental, emotional, and relational existence, transforming you completely.

We keep people in our lives that help us reinforce the stories we've been telling. As we shift identities, the people externally will exist to challenge the new beliefs we are creating.  Action Step Today:  Think about the people in your life right now, and ask yourself these questions to examine if either of these two energies are at play: People pleasing: How are people outside of you responding to the changes you're making, and how does that mirror you're level of sureness? Are you dropping back down to your old beliefs to make other people feel comfortable? Imposter Syndrome: Do you feel guilt for wanting a better life?  Are you experiencing feelings of "leaving people behind"? Please forward this to ONE friend today and tell them to subscribe here.In this episode, I am speaking with Ben Joffe, a French native who's lived and worked across Japan, Korea, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, United States, Germany, and currently Portugal. Ben also speaks fluent French, English, Japanese, pretty bad Korean and Chinese, and average Portuguese (thanks to high school Spanish classes).Talk about being a global citizen. This lived experience means Ben has developed a great understanding of how much our default cultural programming defines how we see and interact with the world. Having your default cultural programming turned on is not necessarily a bad thing. However, it's important we recognize that we all have these underlying prompts which influence our language structure, our views on material success, personal relationships, and more. Especially when we move to a new country. In this conversation, Ben and I explore why some cultures lead with “what do you do?” while others consider that question rude. We also chat about:* Local comedy and why it's a great way to understand cultural nuances and codes* Why he's more focused on teaching his kid curiosity than nationality* The phone call that changed his understanding of Korean culture* Why he doesn't identify as an immigrant or expat despite living in 7+ countriesDozie's NotesA few things that stuck with me as I listened through this week's conversation:* The same word can mean different things depending on where you are from. A major barrier to cross-cultural understanding isn't a lack of shared language but the hidden cultural codes behind words. A term like “friendship” or “car” has a completely different meaning in Korea, the U.S, or France. Learn to ask “What do you mean?” whenever possible.* Cultural fluency which then leads to proper integration is an everyday activity. To truly understand a new country or society requires deliberate effort. Learn the language, watch local stand-up comedy, volunteer, engage in local activities. Being a passive observer rarely helps.* Your multicultural identity is additive. A multicultural identity is not about losing a piece of one culture to gain another. Instead, it's you adding new layers to your identity that end up creating a human that's more than the sum of their parts.Official Links✅ Connect with Ben Joffe on LinkedIn✅ Check out Ben's vibe coding course✅ Consider reading The Culture Code by Clotaire RapailleOne AskIf you found this story helpful, please forward or share it to one immigrant out there.Join us as we explore the bitter-sweet world of the immigrant. How Altair's AI Fabric Helps Businesses Move Beyond Pilot Projects

Artificial intelligence is no longer confined to experiments in labs or one-off pilot projects. For many enterprises, it is becoming the backbone of how they operate, innovate, and compete. But as companies race to deploy AI, the biggest challenge is not whether the technology works, but whether the foundations exist to scale it safely and effectively. In this episode of Tech Talks Daily, I'm joined by Christian Buckner, Senior Vice President of Data and AI Platform at Altair, a company known for combining rocket science with data science. Christian unpacks the concept of an AI Fabric, a framework that harmonizes enterprise data and embeds AI directly into a universal model. Rather than scattered tools and isolated projects, the AI Fabric acts as a living system of intelligence, helping organizations move faster, make better decisions, and unlock new kinds of automation. We talk about how global enterprises from automotive suppliers to petrochemical giants are already using Altair's technology to improve safety, optimize production, and cut costs. Christian shares examples including a transportation company that boosted revenue by $50 million in its first year of AI-driven dynamic pricing and a healthcare provider that saved $17 million in analysis time using knowledge graphs for drug discovery. The conversation also explores the hype and the risks around AI agents. While it is easy to spin up a proof of concept with a Python library, Christian explains why real enterprise impact requires governance, monitoring, and infrastructure to make agents trustworthy and sustainable. He likens it to building HR systems for AI, where agents need onboarding, oversight, and performance evaluation to operate alongside humans. We also touch on Altair's acquisition by Siemens and what this means for the future of industrial AI. By integrating Altair's data and AI expertise with Siemens' deep industrial systems, enterprises can add intelligence without ripping out existing infrastructure. The result is not about replacing workers but enabling them to become what Christian calls “10x employees,” augmented by AI tools and agents that multiply their effectiveness. For anyone curious about how AI will change product design, operations, and enterprise decision-making, this episode offers a rare inside look at the technology foundations being built today.
