Hello you! Well, after several misfires and an entire recording we decided to bin, we finally got around to recording an episode. It's been a week. Far too long but, as you'll hear, we having been in a great frame of mind. And, as it World Mental Health Day, we thought it appropriate and important to put this out.Today we talk about...• Broken air-conditioning.• The mental pain of missing our son.• Free time dilemma.• Simon talks about depression.• Renewing Lorra's car. A lovely financial surprise!• The shag sheet & the chunder chart.• Expo 2020 Dubai first visit.• The Red Arrows save Simon a fortune.• Accidentally labelling oneself a chronophile.• As much James Bond chat as Lorra could handle.• Pizza Express's new Paneer Tikka pizza.• Pizza Express's stupid diet doughnut pizza.• 5-6pm bedtime.• Back on to depression, men's mental health and what Simon calls "Working Class Depression".Sorry if this one is too much of a downer. We're not in a great place at the moment. Again, World Mental Health Day seems the rght time to talk about it. We'll try to be in a better place for the next one. We hope you're doing okay.See you next time xSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/husband-wife-sentenced-to-life. Our GDPR privacy policy was updated on August 8, 2022. “Strange”. “Uncertain”. “Unprecedented”. In these touch-and-go times, such adjectives run rampant in the Tweets and tracts of twats and hacks. The cliché is nauseating. Yet one is assuaged by a conceptual anti-emetic - the cliché (like most) carries a crumb of veracity. Most arresting for moi has been the protuberance of Pfidze (not a fat thing). Where once she was a mere detail, an accessory, an after-thought, an atom, a fart, a nothing nothing nothing, she now has a monopoly on my life. One cannot move for her (yes, partly a fat thing). Since Pfidze’s reinstatement, I have been abiding a strict digital diet*, the “cold turkey†” variety at that. Much of this sea-change has been induced by my excursions to the transcendental (or at least pensive) community. Fear not! I have not fully yielded to flower children and blasé kooks. My mind remains open to closing. But I’m having a crack. The available literature‡ tells me that ours is a culture steeped in a “pornography of production”. Apparently, we are to repudiate the “fetish of do” and cultivate the “power of be”. I’m just having a crack, okay? Thus, I had Pfidze print off and laminate “MONOBE” on a sheet of A4 and Blu Tack it to the ceiling directly above my in-bed head position. Contrary to your unlikely inference, “MONOBE” refers not to the Japanese village but to the practice of BEING one thing at a time. All to say, as time goes on, I intend on doing less and less. With Pfidze back, I no longer even need to listen to the podcast. Although… if honesty is to be my engine on the path to dormancy, I must confess… I stopped listening to the podcast a long time ago. Why? Was “eschewal of micromanagement” just a euphemism for “plausible deniability”? Who can rightly say? Truth is as the recital of a dream - it’s unique to the individual and nobody wants to hear about it in the first place. This philosophy is fantastic, you can get away with fucking murder! *For Pfidze - “Diet” is defined by Merriam-Webster as “a regimen of eating and drinking sparingly so as to reduce one's weight.” You would do well to avail yourself of this conception lest your heart go helter-skelter ‘fore your purpose be known. †If you slobber over my keyboard as you upload this, Pfidz, you will be one sorry Balt. ‡FYI, given the nature of my abnegation, the “available literature” is a single book on yoga by a certain Dr. B. B. Horrocks. The dust-cover fails to elucidate the nature of her doctorhood.

Featuring - chunder, planking, misguided promises and a semi-drunken digression on the nature of the universe. This week we ask is British wrestling really dying, why are UK 'workers' selling their souls to the UK gutter press, awful movies we've seen & exposing dog shit dumpers. Strong language & adult humour throughout.
This week the search for the, erm, cream takes Ian & Barbara to a jungle full of pig men & weirdos. Imagine Ian's terror when he finds out that to escape Barbara has to sing a song! Bet the Dr's glad he's on holiday this week! Wait, what about Susan you ask? Susan loses her lust for glitter & gets ignored, but we find out what Barbara looks like in fishnets! Queue up your DVD player! Or media file! We’ll tell you when to press play on Part 3 of the Keys of Marinus "The Screaming Jungle" so you can watch the story along with us. You can also listen to the podcast on its own for a different, if slightly more (or less!) confusing, experience.
Maid in the North Pole #2 "Chunder Dunder Sama!" by Erik Beltz
After the bombs had fallen and the smoke had cleared, He crawled up on his blackened rock and judged His work. They called Him a murderer. They said billions had died. They did not understand. He had watched from His place of shelter as the people bit and kicked and clawed for survival, their souls truly alive for the first time. Billions of people had been born today. From His rock, He saw the shattered cityscape stretching away like an ashen shadow. The quiet, the blessed quiet He sought, was blighted by the sounds of survivors. They would not last. When the final ragged gasp of life died unnoticed in the dust, and the last monuments of man fell down broken and returned to an Earth that had given to them unwillingly, the footprint of life would be smothered and a stillness would come over the world. Up on that blackened rock, He took in the carcass of the old world; dried and cracked and dead and broken. He had done His part. Oh gosh, it's another episode! Despite the advice of several professionals and everybody else, we have made another Chunder. And wouldn't you know, it's about video games. This time, long-absent Jim returns to talk about playing golf on a phone, Voppzy has spent time with dead people who are still alive, namely in Dying Light and The Last of Us, Jammy has played SteamWorld Dig 2 for about five minutes, and Kane goes on for ages about Stargate Online or something. Truly a worthwhile use of your time. If it isn't, then sorry.
Due to numerous betrayals, for the first time ever a Chunder is being brought to you by only two people. Truly a historic moment for Chunders everywhere. This will surely result in a different podcast than usual, so please let us know if you like it or not. Although it doesn’t really matter since it’s done now. This time, what’s left of the gang go off-script by discussing irrelevant games and going on weird tangents. Bang up to date on all the latest trends, Jordan’s been playing a 6-year-old stealth game he’s already played, and a homage to Wipeout (not the same game). Jammy’s played a buggy RPG for 8 hours without really enjoying it. Man, doesn’t this sound like a wild ride.
Blah blah blah it's our podcast, I would write a description but I'm absolutely full of food. It's mother's day see, and cooking a meal for your mum is a genius way to a) have a really nice meal and b) not buy her an expensive gift. We had honey roast gammon, with roast potatoes, assorted roasted vegetables, yorkshire puddings and pigs in blankets. If you're some foreigner who doesn't know what any of those are, please use your preferred search engine to research them on your own time. We do talk about games this week of course, bit of luck innit.

From eye, tooth, blood and bone be there another Chunder sown. Neath a sea of blackest night, find our baby, swallow its blight. This episode features a live testing of an Oculus Rift, therefore making it worth listening to. At least until about 25 minutes in, after which you should delete the file and report us to the authorities. Those what ignore my warning will be treated to Kane finally mastering his stress issues in Stardew Valley (Possibly via Yuri), Ed playing board-games about lying and Cian getting a Steam controller and complaining it’s not made of gold or whatever. Somewhere after that probably, who cares really anyway, Vopp plays Cities Skylines and Trackmania Turbo, while Yuramiah plays bad games he hates.
Echoing eternal came the dawn scream that made the world, a dark primal cry of beastly things. The Listener fell to their knees, hands upon bloodied ears, but to no avail. The wheel had turned, and the Time of Chunder had come again.
This week, the gang faces the normally unusual problem of having too many people! But amidst all the vocal trampling we still managed to talk about Titanfall, Civilisation: Beyond Earth, Evolve and a bunch of other stuff probably. That is, when we weren't trying to solve who ruined Christmas with murder.
The Basterds discuss NIGHTCRAWLER, the Star Wars title, the Fantastic Four reboot and INTERSTELLAR. Then it's into the THUNDERDORM where 16 famous astronauts from movies and TV fight to the death using randomly drawn weapons.
The Chunder is quiet this week, as most people were distracted by TI4/dead in a nuclear explosion. Yet the gang still manage to pull it together, or at least stop if from being any more awful than usual. This week, Yuramiah wrestles enough crocodiles to win some Internet and update Original Sin, Jammy talks about Endless Space again, Cian tries to play Dragon Age but just can’t stop thinking about potatoes, Vopperough praises GRID Autosport for it’s muddy graphics and Takuna calls Dark Souls 2 the worst game of all time. And somewhere in the shadowy depths of the Chunderfort, we craft all of Chris Thursten’s worst things on the blackened Nightmare Forge.
Conversations with Austin and Mark about such amazing things as Canadians, Disneyland, and overweight cosplayers.
