Today we'll continue the miniseries I'm building on regenerative tourism. This time we'll take a close look at the specific context of the country where I live, here in Spain. Spain has been a top global tourist destination since the 60s and the industry that as grown to meet the demand for travel as shaped so much of the country especially the Mediterranean coast and cities like Barcelona, Valencia, and towns that have grown up entirely to cater to a specific type of budget tourism like Benidorm, Salou, and Lloret del Mar. Yet in recent years there has been a major backlash from the local population protesting irresponsible development, skyrocketing prices, and exemptions from water restrictions directly related to the way tourism is managed. Here to explore these challenges as well as the potential to chart a new course for both hosts and visitors is Sonia Teruel. Sonia helps grassroots initiatives, entrepreneurs and Destination Management Organisations in their transition to a regenerative model in tourism. She is also a consultant, facilitator, and founder at The RegenLAB for Travel. In this conversation we explore the meteoric rise of Spain as a tourist destination and its impact on the communities where visitors concentrate. We look at the challenges that have ignited protests and opposition to the way tourism is managed as well as some of the responses to these issues which may cause bigger problems in the long term. From there we mine Sonia's experiences as a community conversation facilitator who works to guide collaborative processes that explore the potential for new ways of managing visitors and hosts alike in order to achieve lasting solutions. Sonia will be the first to admit that these efforts are still in their infancy and case studies of real success over time don't exist yet in our region, but points to some promising projects to keep an eye on and perhaps emulate as they get established. Though the focus is on the Spanish context, I have no doubt that there are equivalents to many other places around the world where the tourism industry has shaped development and policy for decades, and I hope many of you listening will find inspiration for where you live as well.

Having only her inner guidance to lead the way, she began immersing herself in understanding the teachings of the Ancient Mystery Schools. Through her studies she not only began to understand her own gifts but she also gained the knowledge to show others how to apply these ancient teachings to their busy, modern lives. It is her hope that through these teachings, she will enable others to transcend to living their highest timeline. During the past twenty years, Bonni has touched the lives of thousands. She regularly leads workshops and retreats across the US, including Sedona, Los Angeles, New York and Nashville. She also helped create The Legend of Greater Things Dome, a sacred retreat center located on a crystal grid and beautiful forest outside of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Springtime in New England is the worst. As I sit here on another cold and rainy “spring” day, I'm reminded of what I was told by someone when I first moved to Boston 25 years ago: “Springs in New England are wonderful.” I never trusted another word that person said after I experienced it for myself. Part of it is the waiting for something better that you hope is right around the corner in terms of sunny skies and warmer weather. And then two weeks later it will be 87 with 1000% humidity. But those two weeks of actual nice weather are pretty wonderful. But the waiting is rough, as transitions often are. Any kind of transition can be painful and wrought. Think about the transitions that you have gone through in your life, what it felt like, and what it took to get through it. It turns out that in many ways we are in another transition right now: something called Late-Stage Capitalism. We can look at the technological transitions taking place, the accumulation of wealth and the growing disparities it is bringing, environmental degradation, and the seemingly increasing number of financial crises as indicators of this transition being underway. But what comes next? To talk about social transformations and transitions, we welcome Jaime Schwartz to the Experience by Design studios. Jaime's expertise crosses a lot of areas, which is a good thing because we talk about the need to have breadth of knowledge and experience as we enter what he calls the Co-Creation Economy. Part of this lies in finding better ways for people to work together, using AI as a tool to help facilitate collaboration and flow. Another part of this is focused on helping corporations align their brands with a higher mission and purpose. Finally, we have co-creationism in art, where new technologies and approaches to expression create new ways of sharing, owning, and co-creating artistic expression. Overall, our conversation digs into how we successfully transition to embrace the promise that technological innovations have for making our lives better, and hopefully not being run over by it. And how by coming together we can accomplish great things. Team Flow Institute: https://teamflow.institute Mrkd Art: https://mrkd.artBrand Therapy: https://brandtherapy.coach

Air Date - 26 March 2025The Earth is calling, and the time to answer is now. As we face a global shift, healing our separation from Nature is no longer optional—it's essential. Only by reuniting with the living Earth can we co-create a world where all life—human and nonhuman—flourishes. My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Pam Montgomery, says we can accomplish this by “co-creating with Nature. Pam Montgomery is an herbalist, Nature Evolutionary, international teacher, and Earth Elder who has passionately embraced her role as a spokesperson for the green beings. A founding member of United Plant Savers and the Organization of Nature Evolutionaries, she is the author of two books, including Plant Spirit Healing. Her website is https://wakeuptonature.com/ and she joins me this week to share her path and new book, Co-Creating with Nature: Healing the Wound of Separation.#PamMontgomery #VictorFuhrman #DestinationUnlimited #Interviews #SpiritualityConnect with Victor Fuhrman at https://victorthevoice.com/Visit the Destination Unlimited Show Page https://omtimes.com/iom/shows/destination-unlimited/Subscribe to our Newsletter https://omtimes.com/subscribe-omtimes-magazine/Connect with OMTimes on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Omtimes.Magazine/ and OMTimes Radio https://www.facebook.com/ConsciousRadiowebtv.OMTimes/Twitter: https://twitter.com/OmTimes/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/omtimes/Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/company/2798417/Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/omtimes/
Is it possible to have two strongly opposing points of view and still get along and work together? And if so, how can two sides, who are both committed to their own views, come to a conclusion? Are you more committed to politics, for example, or are you more committed to your relationships? Today Lisa talks once again with executive coach Jim Selman and psychiatrist Dr. Srini Pillay. Together they invite us to create a new mind, so we can create a new world. Jim Selman is an executive coach and talks about how leadership is a willingness to commit to a possibility before evidence is shown. Jim has worked within the corporate sector in management. He has learned to navigate opposing views and worked with both managers and those in unions. Neither party can be completely satisfied but they can work together. He talks about possibility thinking and its role in leadership. Psychiatrist Dr. Srini Pillay talks about leadership and a willingness to acknowledge possibilities, even before there's evidence. He talks about how the amygdala in the brain processes all emotions. Fear is at the forefront as we need to protect ourselves. Srini further discusses suffering and how it works in the brain. It can feel like we are being attacked, and we want people to understand it. The root of polarization is the difference between living in a state of suffering or living in a state of possibility. How is it possible to get along with others who have completely opposite views? Unless you are willing to acknowledge and respect the legitimacy of the other, then no reconciliation is possible. We automatically assume that the other person is wrong, yet no conclusion can be proven true or false. We must allow others to have judgements without reaction. It is not the truth, nor is it a falsehood. So how do we learn to live together in a way where each person can have their own opinions, yet we allow for respect of one another's views? We don't have to agree, and we can learn to create together. Most polarization gets stuck when people will not allow room for another person's view. Together they talk about consciousness, balance, and non-judgmental thinking. This leads to creative solutions. There is a way to have a conversation and not get to an agreement but still allow for the possibility of co-creation. If you can do this in a polarized environment, you actually have more power and can create a common future. This interview was part of a series originally taped in August of 2020, and we air this show in honor of Jim Selman who passed away recently. Jim was an executive coach and pioneer in the field of personal and organizational transformation. He is the author of numerous books including “Leadership” and “Living in a Real-Time World: 6 Capabilities to Prepare Us for an Unimaginable Future.” Info: jimselman.com and drsrinipillay.com.

Emotional well-being is tied to physical health. Self-acceptance is key to personal development. The journey includes ups and downs, all part of growth! Welcome to the second episode of the Purpose to Impact series on Stories from the River. In this episode, host Charlie Malouf introduces Teri Frangie, the newly appointed Senior Vice President of Global Business Development with Core Leadership Institute, and Kip Meyer. Both Teri and Kip attended the two-day Purpose to Impact program held on October 22nd and 23rd in Fort Mill, South Carolina, facilitated by Nick Craig from the Core Leadership Institute. Before diving into their reflections from the two-day experience, they discuss the evolution of the program over the past several years from its initial focus on authentic leadership to its current dedication to discovering and refining one's purpose. During the course of the conversation, they reveal the process of discovering their own personal purpose statements. Teri shares her inspiring purpose statement of "To uplift others and bring their score to light" with a tagline of "Co-creating melodies that inspire light and harmony," Kip reveals his refined purpose of "Excavating for hidden treasures within," which derived from "To help people see something meaningful that they do not see on their own." Then Charlie also reflects on his purpose, distilled to "Play the game," which started as a more lengthier version of "Play the game of life with a driven commitment that echoes and inspires others to rise to the occasion and reach their potential," before getting reduced to "Play the game of life." Charlie is still weighing whether or not to include the 2nd part, which in full would then be, "Play the game. Rise to the occasion." The episode delves into their personal growth experiences and the power of collaborative reflection and storytelling. They highlight the value of the program in fostering deep, non-judgmental relationships and gaining clarity and confidence through shared vulnerability. They appreciate the iterative process of creating and refining purpose statements, emphasizing that self-discovery is an ongoing journey. Charlie, Teri, and Kip urge listeners to consider the Purpose to Impact program for its significant impact on personal and professional development. Charlie also underscores the importance of "slowing down to go fast," ensuring one aligns with their true direction in life. The Mirasee FM podcast team chooses their favorite episode of 2024 to close out the year. In this pick, Melinda talks with executive leadership coach Adam Quiney about his key insights for facilitating breakthroughs, allowing discomfort for growth, and creating tangible results in a co-creative process.Adam Quiney is an executive leadership coach specializing in working with the “Smartest People in the Room.”In this episode, Melinda and Adam explore the secrets behind breakthroughs and the difference between transformational and transactional results. They discuss the importance of meeting clients where they are and testing and navigating the limits of their worldviews. Melinda and Adam also delve into the process of breakthroughs and the challenges that arise along the way. The conversation highlights the significance of trusting intuition and making room for spirit in the coaching process — and we learn practical strategies to facilitate breakthroughs and create tangible results.Key Takeaways:Transformational results require a fundamental shift in the way we show up in our lives, while transactional results are surface-level changes that don't require a fundamental shift.Coaches should meet clients where they are and explore the limits of their worldviews to support them in creating breakthroughs.Breakthroughs often involve a process of discomfort and uncertainty, and coaches should hold space for clients to be in their own process.Creating tangible results and setting measurable goals can support clients in staying on the path of breakthroughs.Coaches should make room for spirit and trust the process of co-creation in facilitating breakthroughs.Chapters:00:00 - The Secrets Behind Breakthroughs01:46 - Adam Quiney's Journey of Self-Discovery and Transformation02:45 - Transformational Results vs Transactional Results04:14 - Creating Transformational Results05:12 - The Difference Between Surface Level Changes and Transformation06:34 - Meeting Clients Where They Start08:02 - Exploring the Limits of Clients' Worldviews09:23 - The Process of Breakthroughs10:49 - Navigating the Challenges of Breakthroughs13:14 - The Structure and Magic of Breakthroughs16:29 - Trusting Intuition and Being in the Process18:18 - Creating Tangible Results20:43 - Making Room for Spirit in Breakthroughs22:34 - The Journey of Trusting Spirit28:22 - Approaches to Facilitate Breakthroughs“To create the transformational result where I worked half as many hours and made twice as much money, that was going to require a breakthrough, a fundamental change in the way I showed up in my life.” — Adam QuineyGuest Bio:Adam Quiney is an executive leadership coach specializing in working with the “Smartest People in the Room.” A former software developer and attorney, Adam's learned the hard way about the costs that come from keeping your heart safe and chasing after external rewards to feel whole and complete. From a place of love, Adam is connection, passion, presence, wit, and brilliance.
