In this week's Slappin' Glass Deep Dive, we go deeper into one of the most important offensive conversations in the modern game: how to attack switching defenses. As switching continues to become a preferred solution for defenses at every level, offenses can no longer rely only on simply “getting the matchup” and hoping the possession solves itself. The best teams are finding ways to create the switch, organize spacing around it, and attack before the defense can load up, scram out, or triple switch its way back to neutral. In this episode, we explore the details behind turning a switch into a real advantage. From immediate mismatch attacks and early seals, to stampedes, clears, flares, pitches, short rolls, and corner skips, the conversation focuses on how offenses can punish the defense without becoming stagnant or predictable. We also discuss the importance of storytelling in teaching offense. The best concepts are not just a list of actions, but a way to help players understand the problem, recognize the advantage, and play with clarity inside the possession. For coaches looking to better understand modern spacing, mismatch creation, and late-clock problem solving, this Deep Dive offers a detailed look at how top teams are attacking one of basketball's most common defensive answers. What You'll Learn:How to attack switching defenses with more than just isolation We explore ways to punish switches through seals, stampedes, clears, flares, pitches, and short-roll solutions. Why timing matters after the switch happens The offense has a small window before the defense can load up, scram out, or triple switch back to neutral. How storytelling helps players understand offensive concepts The best teaching connects the action to the problem it solves, giving players more clarity and confidence inside the possession. To join coaches and championship winning staffs from the NBA to High School from over 70 different countries taking advantage of an SG Plus membership, visit HERE!

In this episode, Heidi Brooks and Zoe Chance invite you to step out of the transactional pursuit of influence and into the relational, visceral reality of self-influence through coaching.  Through their conversation, Heidi and Zoe take you on a journey to reframe coaching not as a corrective tool for fixing what is broken, but as an enlivening stance for everyday leadership and human connection. You'll get a sneak peak into the big ideas guiding the upcoming professional coaching certificate at Yale and why the cohort model is an important element of the program. They deconstruct traditional ideas of interpersonal influence, putting them back together as an inside-out process where changing our relationships requires us to first renegotiate our relationship with ourselves. Ultimately, Heidi and Zoe invite you to take a coaching stance to stretch beyond your comfort zone and expand your capacity to thrive. Connect with Zoe Chance at zoechance.com and check out her book. Heidi and Zoe explore the deep friction between having conceptual information and the visceral, embodied reality of an experience. 08:00 - The Trojan Horse of Influence Heidi and Zoe wrestle with traditional, transactional ideas of influence and how Zoe's course often acts as a Trojan horse for personal transformation. The conversation highlights the inside-out approach of becoming someone others naturally want to say yes to. 13:20 - Co-Creating a New Experience: Coaching at Yale The hosts dream in public about their upcoming certificate for professional coaching and the intentional design of a cohort-based experience. They look at how learning to coach in a group setting acts as a micro-society for humanizing the workplace. 18:20 - The Messy Work of Being Coachable Heidi shares a grainy moment from her early days coaching "perfect" executives to surface an inconvenient tension: being coachable requires a person to be influenceable. They invite the audience to ask if they are willing to stretch beyond the safety of their expertise. 25:20 - System 1 "Soup" and The Logic of Commitment The two dive into the intuitive, habitual "emotional soup" of System 1, which Zoe names as the hidden engine of human behavior. Heidi introduces Jim March's framework to ask how leaders can anchor their work in the enlivening "logic of commitment" rather than the transactional "logic of consequence". 36:20 - The Ultimate Challenge: Influencing the Self The conversation lands on the profound realization that the hardest person in the world to influence is the self. Heidi and Zoe explore how adopting a coaching stance helps individuals renegotiate their relationship with themselves and expand their capacity to thrive. 42:20 - A Genuine Invitation The episode concludes with an invitation to the listener to pay attention to their own possible transformations. Heidi shares a new way for the audience to leave a voice note via SpeakPipe so the community can co-create this learning experience together.

Caroline has spent decades exploring the relationship between biography, consciousness, and the patterns that shape human experience. Her work brings together mystical theology, archetypal psychology, and the question of how intention and choice influence health and personal transformation. In this conversation, they explore: — Why human development may move from the love of power to the power of love — How the symbolic realm shapes physical reality — The role of archetypes as impersonal patterns that organise human consciousness — Why intention, rather than action, determines the consequence of our choices — How guidance from the non-physical realm operates in moments of genuine need And more. You can learn more about Caroline's work and courses at https://myss.com. — Caroline Myss is a five-time New York Times bestselling author and internationally renowned speaker in the fields of human consciousness, spirituality and mysticism, health, energy medicine, and the science of medical intuition. Caroline established her own educational institute in 2003, CMED (Caroline Myss Education), which offers a diverse array of programs devoted to personal development and draws students from all over the world. Caroline then pursued her interest in the language of symbols, myths, and archetypes, conducting research that enabled her to profile an individual's “Sacred Contract,” a complex of 12 archetypal patterns that reflect in mythic language the agreements the soul made prior to birth. Based on this work, Caroline released “Sacred Contracts”, which became her third New York Times bestseller. Caroline followed with two more New York Times bestsellers, “Invisible Acts of Power” in 2004 and “Entering the Castle” in 2007. Caroline's interest in mysticism and the nature of mystical consciousness only deepened following the writing of Entering the Castle. She pursued her interest in the nature of grace, the consciousness of the soul and the mystical phenomenon of healing that transcends reason in “Defy Gravity”, released in October 2009. In 2020, Caroline released a book on prayer, including 100 of her personal prayers, “Intimate Conversations with the Divine”. In addition to her written work, Caroline has produced more than one hundred audio/visual products on subjects that include healing, spirituality, personal development, and the study of archetypes. --- Interview Links: — Caroline's website: https://myss.com — Caroline's books: https://amzn.to/4rZIa0X — Caroline's online courses: https://myss.com/online-courses — Caroline's live workshops: https://myss.com/in-depth-experiences

The International Day of Education, observed annually on 24 January, serves as a global platform to reflect on the role of education in peacebuilding, sustainable development, and inclusive growth. In 2026, UNESCO marks the Day under the theme “The Power of Youth in Co-Creating Education,” spotlighting young people not merely as beneficiaries of education systems, but as active contributors to shaping how learning is designed, delivered, and governed. Globally, youth under the age of 30 make up more than half of the world's population. Yet, despite being the primary users of education systems, young people remain significantly underrepresented in education policy formulation, curriculum design, governance structures, and reform processes. This gap has contributed to persistent misalignment between education outcomes and the realities of today's labour markets, civic life, and digital economies. In Nigeria, where the youth population is both a demographic advantage and a development challenge, the urgency of youth-inclusive education reform is even more pronounced. Issues such as skills mismatch, youth unemployment, learning poverty, and low engagement in policy processes underscore the need to rethink education as a co-created system—one that meaningfully integrates youth voices, innovation, and lived experience.

Send us a textIn this episode, George Kesselaar joins Marco Blankenburgh for a powerful conversation that redefines how we think about change.George brings insight from his PhD research at the University of Cape Town's Graduate School of Business, where he explores the behavioral side of change in global organizations. What makes his work stand out is its intentional design through the lens of Intercultural Agility. Instead of treating change as something that is rolled out, George shows how it can be co-created with people across cultures.Together, Marco and George explore questions like:·       What causes change efforts to stall, even when the strategy is clear?·       How can we move from rollout to resonance?·       What does it take to create culture rather than dictate it?This conversation offers practical insight into frameworks such as the Three Colors of Worldview, the 12 Dimensions of Culture, and the idea of building a Third Cultural Space. But more than that, it invites us to reflect on how leaders show up in times of change, how they listen, and how they align with people before inviting into a journey of change. If you are working on (digital/technology) transformation, navigating resistance, or designing culture in a global environment, this episode will offer you a new way to see and lead change that lasts.  -- Looking for a book to take your cultural agility to the next step, check out the Ultimate Intercultural Question Book brought to you by KnowledgeWorkx.com

In this solo episode, Lisa explores the spiritual and psychological practice of “following the call”—learning to live, decide, and heal without needing full certainty. She unpacks how fear-driven control blocks co-creation with life, the body, and spirit, and why true change begins with radical acceptance and self-compassion rather than force. Through tender and fierce self-compassion, embodied emotional processing, and humility about what we can and cannot control, Lisa shows how guidance reveals itself one step at a time. Drawing from personal transitions, nervous system wisdom, and lived spiritual trust, the episode invites listeners to practice surrender as an active, courageous relationship—one that builds safety, clarity, and faith by moving forward even when the path ahead isn't fully visible. Topics Include:Spiritual TrustConscious Co-CreationSelf-CompassionEmotional Integration[1:08] Lisa starts by thanking her listeners for their engagement, feedback, and for creating a sense of community around the podcast.[2:11] Lisa shares that understanding concepts like tender and fierce self-compassion requires acknowledging one's spiritual nature, as emotional healing is inherently a spiritual process. Lisa explains that she has been contemplating the idea of "following the call," which refers to heeding one's inner knowledge or intuition about necessary life changes. She discusses how receiving guidance forces a confrontation with one's relationship with uncertainty and control, which often stems from fear.[17:31] Lisa explains the universe typically provides the "next right step" rather than a complete plan, requiring a step of faith into the unknown. Lisa talks about how living in the illusion of total control prevents co-creation with the universe, as it requires accepting that one is not in full command. She discusses how the experience of feeling fear and acting anyway is a practical way to build faith and experience co-creation.[23:52] Lisa explains how the relationship with control and surrender in life is mirrored in one's relationship with their body and food and that true health requires surrendering the illusion of total control over the body. Lisa discusses that the relationship with one's body should be a partnership, not a system to be commanded and that healing begins when one stops treating the body as a problem to solve.[40:28] Lisa explores how expressing difficult feelings, such as through journaling, is a powerful tool to move emotional energy and gain clarity, often revealing that no action is needed. She explains that to achieve clarity, it's necessary to feel and release your emotions and sometimes this clarity reveals that a life change is necessary. She further explains that the concept of surrender can provoke fear and physical tension and the practice is to notice this, breathe, and associate surrender with safety.[1:02:48] Lisa wraps up this episode by discussing how these foundational concepts discussed (self-compassion, acceptance, and surrender) are necessary building blocks for the future discussion on intentional weight loss.*The views of podcast guests do not necessarily reflect the views and beliefs of Lisa Schlosberg or Out of the Cave, LLC.LISA IS NOW ACCEPTING: One-on-One Clients!Purchase the OOTC book of 50 Journal PromptsLeave Questions and Feedback for Lisa via OOTC Pod Feedback Form Email Lisa: lisa@lisaschlosberg.comOut of the Cave Merch - For 10% off use code SCHLOS10Lisa's Socials: Instagram Facebook YouTube

What happens when two relationship experts who teach others about intimacy find themselves in an 18-month sexual drought? We recently emerged from what we affectionately call "the swamp"—a period where our once-vibrant sexual connection became strained, disconnected, and frankly disappointing. Despite having all the professional knowledge about creating great sex, we found ourselves stuck in patterns that weren't working, and the solutions weren't immediately obvious. It was a profound opportunity for growth and understanding–the experience taught us that magnificent sex isn't something you figure out once and then have forever. It requires ongoing attention, vulnerability, and a willingness to return to basics when things get off track. In this episode, we talk about:— What "magnificent sex" actually means (hint: it's about soul-shaking connection, not just technique)— The four key elements that create truly magnificent sexual experiences— How even sex educators can lose track of their own erotic needs and desires— Why our sexual "swamp" developed and the surprisingly simple interventions that helped us find our way out— The power of written requests on index cards for neurodivergent communication patterns— The importance of reconnecting with your own core erotic themes rather than just focusing on your partner's— How to create containers of safety that allow for vulnerability and presence— Why aftercare matters and how to customize it for each partner's specific needs— The value of accommodating different communication and memory styles in sexual contexts— Practical ways to rebuild connectionResources mentioned in this episode:— Magnificent Sex: Lessons from Extraordinary Lovers by Peggy Kleinplatz and Dana Ménard— The Erotic Mind by Jack Morin— Transcendent Sex by Jenny Wade— The Wheel of Consent by Betty Martin— Joli's Sexual Shadow Masterclass— Our episode on Nurturing Established Relationship EnergyJOIN The Year Of Opening® community for a full year of learning & support. Co-Creating Care: Lessons from the Stage (EP:44) With Marco Antonio de Carvalho Filho, MD, PHD If medical education is meant to prepare people for the emotional realities of patient care, what might change if we taught students not only to do the work, but to fully inhabit the person they are becoming while doing it? Join host Stacy Craft, and guest Professor Dr. Carvalho Filho, as we explore an unexpected but deeply powerful intersection: the meeting of theater and medical education. Dr. Marco shares how the traditions of the stage, presence, imagination, emotional awareness, and co-creation, offer transformative possibilities for how we train future clinicians. Through stories of working with actors, facilitating embodied learning, and creating safe spaces for vulnerability, he reveals how theater can move education beyond checklists and simulations into something far more human. We discuss why presence matters more than prescribed communication “skills,” how students can reclaim their identities while learning to care for others, and why cultivating joy, curiosity, and emotional resilience may be essential to the health of both clinicians and the profession itself. From co-constructed simulations to long-form theatrical workshops, this episode invites us to rethink what meaningful learning and meaningful care can look like. Questions? Feedback? Ideas? In this episode, we continue our series on the Garden of Our Hearts and talk about the cultivation of beauty. Beauty has the power to transform, heal, and lift us into communion with God, but it must be cultivated with care and intention. We discuss what it means to co-create with God, slow down and savor little moments, and rediscover beauty in the people closest to us. Even when the world around us feels barren or artificial, the Lord invites us to see beauty with new eyes and let the Holy Spirit reveal His presence in unexpected ways.   Heather's One Thing - The Catechism of the Catholic Church designed by Every Sacred Sunday Heather's Other One Thing - I Am Held by Pat Barrett Sister Miriam's One Thing - The Carmelite Monks' New Monastery in Wyoming Michelle's One Thing - Word on Fire's Evangelization and Culture Journal - Issue 25 on Beauty Michelle's Other One Thing - The Story of All Stories: A Story Bible for Young Catholics by Emily Stimpson Chapman   Other Resources Mentioned:  Passion and Purpose Podcast Episode 5 with Jon Tyson and Louie Giglio Word on Fire and Ascension will publish the new English edition of the Liturgy of the Hours   Journal Questions: How am I uniquely gifted at cultivating beauty? When have you had an experience with beauty that transformed your heart? What lies and limitations do I believe about my own creativity? How does God want to play with me in the dirt this week? In what ways am I too busy for creativity and beauty? What beauty does the Lord want to show you - both within you and outside of you?   Discussion Questions: Have you come across AI art recently? How did you respond to it? In what ways have you limited your own creativity? Who or what inspires you to be more creative? How will you cultivate beauty and express creativity in your life?   Quotes to Ponder:  "Every expression of true beauty can thus be acknowledged as a path leading to an encounter with the Lord Jesus."  -Pope Francis    "We must wonder! We must create an environment of wonder! We must create a climate of wonder! This task is closest to the family. . . . Wonder is needed so that beauty might enter into human life, into society and the nation. This beauty is the foundation and the creative moment of the culture. It is impossible to create culture by administrative means. These means can only destroy it. . . . We need to marvel at everything that is found in man." (Saint Pope John Paul II)   Scripture for Lectio: "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, think about these things."
