This sesh we are going intergalactic. Lets talk about the alien mummies they found down in Mexico, while I flip this stunden glass full of galactic runtz and Terple by Tribal and Nugz. These are both intense and delicious concentrates. When you add them together you get a whole different view of the world. It's kinda like being shot in to outer space. So with that in mind I figured it would be fun to talk about the Aliens found in Mexico. Keep in mind they are over 1000 years old and mummified, so lets talk about whether or not they are real. Also, how do we know that what we think aliens look like, is what aliens actually look like? Seriously! We can only know what we know and we draw from reference. So who decided that's what these things really look like? Are we totally sure they are aggressive as well? Maybe they were trying to help and our own human emotions got in the way and we got scared. Maybe aliens are visiting to observe and help. Even bigger question... How do we know that the grey and green aliens aren't just alien versions of dogs and monkeys? Think about it.l I mean we've done that, sent dogs and monkey's to space. So why wouldn't it be possible that other life forms do the same thing? Any way you get the gist of where I'm going with all this. This episodes Weed Facts revolve around an article about members of the cannabis industry meeting with Justin Trudeau to discuss changes they would like the government of Canada to make in order to progress the industry. The resounding answer was to remove the unnecessary and excessive financial burden the system has imposed. Hopefully the discussion actually yields some change. We need it. Another aspect to some of the issues the industry faces is the capping of edibles. Meaning edibles can't be potent, basically. Adults want to be able to choose for themselves. They don't want to be told what to do. This is a case where in essence we are being treated like kids. I get the concern of kids getting hold of some infused candy, but really isn't that our responsibility as good parents. To educate and create awareness around the things we do and the reasons we do them? Dude for real, did you know there is a town in the Yukon that serves a Toe Cocktail? For the Big Foot lovers out there, there is a place in Canada where Sasquatch is protected by law. Also we also have the oldest rocks in the world. Take that earthlings! I hope you enjoy the Sesh! This week on the RIPEcast we feature Nugz from the Dusty Rhino crew. Here is a bit more about Nugz..... Bay Area native Nugz got his start in the 90's with residencies at Vinyl in Denver, and Soma in Boulder, CO which at the time was rated one of the top ten clubs in the U.S. by BPM magazine. Since moving back to San Francisco in 2004, he has made his mark creating late night soirees with his production company Footprint Sound, at a special little warehouse in Soma known as "123". Heavily entrenched in that underground sound, his parties are regarded by true nightlife professionals as some of the best in the city. Nugz's musical selections under cover of darkness, revolve around House/Techno and UK Nu Skool breaks that range from deep, melodic, sexy, to dark, dirty, nasty, funky, grindy, techy, electro. Daylight hours, you may find him spinning trip hop, down tempo, mid tempo and classic hip hop, along with sexy deep house and funk all over the bay area at places like bars, lounges, back yards, yachts, pools, rooftops, basements, lofts/warehouses, Bay To Breakers, campouts, sidewalks, Decompression or Golden Gate Park. For our first episode of 2008 we bring you a RAGER from San Francisco's Evinrude (Stimulus, Netamp). One of the Bay's few remaining all-vinyl DJ's, he's been a functioning vinyl junky for about a decade, selling his drums for the stuff shortly after getting hooked. He started making himself known in the Bay Area around 2000, slinging a special recipe of hard trance, acid, energy, and breaks under the moniker Darth. A few years later he joined forces with Dirt and Nugz to start breaks weekly Broke-Ass, and launched a monthly at the now-defunct @lpha Bar called Smoke Breaks. He also briefly ran a weekly called Crooked at Nickie's on Haight Street, which was interrupted by the gentrification of that venue.
