„Deutsche Freunde“ von Ozan Ata Canani ist eines der frühesten deutschsprachigen Lieder eines Kindes von Arbeitsmigranten – und ein eindringliches Zeitdokument der späten 1970er-Jahre. Entstanden vor dem Hintergrund von Ausländerfeindlichkeit, Rückkehrdebatten und dem berühmten Zitat von Max Frisch („Man hat Arbeitskräfte gerufen, und es kamen Menschen“), erzählt der Song vom Fremdsein, von Ausgrenzung und von der Zerrissenheit der zweiten Generation zwischen zwei Welten.Ozan Ata Canani, Spitzname Ata, kam mit zwölf Jahren nach Deutschland, spielte Saz, trat auf Hochzeiten auf und begann schließlich, deutsche Texte zu schreiben. Der Anblick von Parolen wie „Ausländer raus!“ und „Türken verboten!“ wurde zum Auslöser für „Deutsche Freunde“, ein Lied, das sich direkt an die politischen Entscheidungsträger jener Zeit richtet.Obwohl der Song zunächst nur auf Kassetten in türkischen Läden kursierte und die Originalaufnahme verloren ging, wurde er 1982 im Fernsehen gezeigt und Jahrzehnte später neu aufgenommen. Das ist die sarkastische Seite an dem Song. Es ist ein Protestlied gewesen, das ich damals gesungen habe.
