The median sale price for first home buyers was $610,000 ... 19% less. We then track the number of weeks it takes to save a 10% deposit, and show that although it has increased by 33% from 84 to 112 weeks, if you include government and employer assistance, the number of weeks will have actually decreased over that time. In this episode, we detail the latest data from the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand and realestate.co.nz. The main takeaway is that there aren't enough listings to go around. Although the total number of listings was up over 14% compared to the last year ... the total number of properties was up almost 30%. That means that all around the country, there are a record low number of listings, which fuels house price growth. In this episode, we discuss ANZ's recent move to now require 40% deposits for investment properties. This is a major change in credit policy, that makes ANZ the most conservative bank when it comes to lending on investment properties. Here, we discuss the change, the exemptions, and how ANZ staff are implementing the new regime.
