This episode is for anyone feeling stuck, isolated, or mid-transition. Jennifer Cunningham shares practical ways to reconnect with your school community (even from far away), use mentoring platforms, show up to events with less anxiety, and build relationships that compound over time. About the Guest: Jennifer Cunningham is a long-time leader in alumni engagement with nearly two decades of experience hosting webinars, emceeing networking events, and helping people activate their alumni communities. She's also the author of the mini-book “Give Back and Get Ahead.” Episode Chapters: 04:16 The “opportunity in your inbox” idea—why alumni networks matter 06:12 The donation myth: what alumni offices actually do 08:27 Alumni value beyond reunions—extending your degree for life 09:50 Why people disengage, then come back (kids, friends, nostalgia, timing) 13:05 “Give Back and Get Ahead”—reframing alumni as a resource 13:51 Practical first steps: alumni pages, updating info, mentoring platforms 19:39 Networking anxiety + simple strategies to “work the room” with curiosity Key Takeaways: Start at your school's alumni webpage and update your contact info. Use online mentoring platforms to connect, even if you live far away. Go in curious—don't lead with a résumé or job-asking energy. The constant flood of political news can leave many people feeling anxious, powerless, and emotionally drained. In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, hosted by Avik, we explore how political overwhelm impacts mental health—and what we can actually do about it. Joining the conversation is Christopher Rivers, a former Army officer, combat veteran, diplomat, and author. Drawing from experiences in the military, diplomacy, corporate strategy, and a political campaign where he knocked on over 9,000 doors, Chris shares practical insights on reconnecting with community, managing media consumption, and engaging in civic life without losing your mental balance. If you feel overwhelmed by politics but still want to stay informed and grounded, this conversation offers a thoughtful path forward. About the Guest: Christopher Rivers is a former Army officer and combat veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. A West Point graduate and Georgetown alumnus, he later worked in diplomacy and corporate strategy. Anti-Burnout Memory Master Tips

Is pushing for Memory Master worth it — and what happens if your child doesn't make it? In this episode of the Everyday Educator podcast, host Amy Jones sits down with veteran CC moms Courtney Bradshaw and Tunrade Schumann to talk about how to challenge your kids with Classical Conversations memory work without overwhelming them or pushing too hard. Whether you're aiming for Memory Master, Subject Master, or just want your child to engage more deeply with the Foundations curriculum, this conversation is full of warm, practical wisdom for every homeschool family. Tunrade shares how her family dove headfirst into Memory Master from day one, with all four kids eventually earning the title — and each one also having that one hard year where it didn't quite come together. Those years, she says, turned out to be among the most valuable. Her daughter once went back as a Challenge A student to earn the one cycle she'd missed years earlier, simply because it still mattered to her. Tunrade herself has spent the last two years earning Mom Memory Master alongside her kids, with a third planned as her capstone. Courtney offers a beautifully different perspective — her family never completed community Memory Master, but has celebrated Subject Masters, a "Master Swordsman" scripture challenge, and countless informal moments where the content showed up in unexpected ways: a college Western Civ class, a Challenge speech, a paper. She's candid about the seasons of life — including adopting three children mid-journey — that meant mom simply wasn't available, and why that's okay. The conversation turns practical in the back half, with both moms sharing specific tips: starting with six weeks of consistent daily review, using CDs and flip books for independent study, leveraging Christmas break to tackle early weeks, pairing up with another Memory Master family for accountability and fun, and tailoring review methods to each child's learning style. Motivation strategies include review game parties, community check-ins, and Tunrade's beloved family tradition: a full week of unlimited screen time after Memory Master — which, she notes, usually loses its charm by day two. The episode closes with a reminder that the real reward isn't the blue shirt. It's a child who knows how they learn, trusts their own mind, and isn't afraid of hard things. What You'll Learn: - The full Memory Master continuum — from Subject Master all the way to the National Memory Master Contest - How two experienced CC families approached Memory Master very differently — and both thrived - Why the hidden benefits of Memory Master have almost nothing to do with memorization - What to do when life gets hard and Memory Master just isn't happening this year - Practical, age-by-age tips for making memory work fun (trampolines, hopscotch, hand motions & more) - How to use Christmas break strategically to get ahead on proofs - Creative ways to celebrate and motivate kids through the February doldrums - Why kids who earn Memory Master aren't scared of hard things later in life - How Tunrade earned Mom Memory Master — and why Courtney is already eyeing it for her last round   This episode of Everyday Educator is sponsored by: Summit Ministries Do you want your child to have conversations that challenge, encouragement that endure, and friends and faith for life? AI For Practice Owners Webinar – Get Ahead in 2026 Before It's Too Late Join Mike Green (founder of Doctor Demographics, with over 40 years helping practice owners with location strategy, marketing, and growth analytics) in this live webinar recording as he reveals why AI is already reshaping non-clinical aspects of private practices — and why getting started now gives you a huge competitive edge. Most practice owners are still asking: "How will AI actually hit my practice?" or assuming it's years away or only for big corporate groups. Mike flips that script: AI will dramatically impact marketing, patient retention, customer service, social media, websites, admin tasks, and more — within the next 5 years (likely much sooner). Drawing parallels to the social media boom of the mid-2000s, he warns: "Second place is always the first loser." Early adopters win big with more time, higher revenue, and practices that practically run themselves — all without massive budgets. Mike is joined by two powerhouse guests: Eric Sorenson (international speaker, ex-practice owner, AI & marketing expert): Shares how AI acts as the "great equalizer" to escape the time-for-money trap, double your business, and build freedom. He highlights rapid advancements (business landscape changing dramatically in just 1–2 years), agentic AI, voice tools, NotebookLM for learning, HIPAA-compliant AI agents, and his RCCF prompting method. Grab his free prompt guide at prompts.platinpartnergroup.com. Kevin St. Clergy (author of Beyond Blind Blaming, practice coach & speaker): Dives into practical "vibe coding" wins — building custom tools via voice (e.g., a $100 assessment saving $10K/year), Manis AI for apps/websites, Claude.ai for copy/SOPs, Canva + AI for social graphics, and branding strategies that turn your website into fresh logos, posts, and plans. This session is packed with motivation, real examples, and actionable insights for dentists, physicians, and healthcare entrepreneurs ready to leverage AI for profitability, time freedom, and growth — while regulations slow clinical AI adoption.

What to expect in this episode: • The Performance Trap: How growing up with conditional love creates a lifelong insecurity that can only be quieted by achieving at a very high level. • Healthy Entitlement: Why elite achievers have the agency to leave toxic situations and the confidence to ask for help rather than complaining about the world's unfairness. • The Contentment Debuff: Why the biggest difference between high and low performers is the refusal to feel satisfied after finishing a simple taskHG Coaching : https://bit.ly/46bIkdo Dr. K's Guide to Mental Health: https://bit.ly/44z3SztHG Memberships : https://bit.ly/3TNoMVf Products & Services : https://bit.ly/44kz7x0 HealthyGamer.GG: https://bit.ly/3ZOopgQ Learn more about your ad choices. Men today are often lost and quietly confused. Some know they should strive for more, yet feel strangely unmoved to pursue it. Others are driven but stuck, spinning their wheels, repeating the same habits and even the same sins, wondering why nothing ever changes. Still others feel unambitious, listless, and disengaged, moving from obligation to obligation without a clear sense of direction. In this episode, John Heinen and Devin Schadt name a reality they see everywhere: men who are not evil or careless, but internally stalled, unsure why they never seem to get ahead. Drawing on the work of Dallas Willard and their own experience walking with men, John and Devin unpack a simple but necessary framework for real change: Vision, Intention, and Means. They explore why some men burn with misdirected ambition while others drift without desire, how both stem from the same interior problem, and why a man's belief in heaven, whether real or merely theoretical, shapes how he lives today.

Stop waiting for success to find you and start building the life you want with a proven formula for consistency!  In this episode Simon breaks down the Massive Success Formula, combining massive action with the right strategy and unwavering discipline.  You'll learn how to transform fleeting interests into ironclad commitments, why your calendar is your most important tool for financial freedom, and the surprising reason why high achievers prioritise taking more holidays KEY TAKEAWAYS Success is the "rent you pay every day," requiring you to develop the habits to do the hard things even when you don't feel like it. There is a massive gap between being "interested" in financial freedom and being "committed" to it; true success requires making your goals a non-negotiable must. Schedule "sacred time" in your diary to focus exclusively on high-priority goals rather than just ticking off easy, low-impact tasks. To maintain peak performance, you must plan regular downtime to decompress and re-energise, as your best ideas often surface when you're relaxed. BEST MOMENTS "Massive success is due to taking massive action, doing the right things, but also having consistency." "Success is due to the rent that you pay every day, meaning you need to do something every day to get you to the place you want to be." "Are you really committed to your property investing goals, or are you just interested in achieving financial freedom?" "All too often, people tick off the easy, the quick-to-do things... never really tackling the really important things on their action list." Episode Description: Many authors are doing everything right—publishing consistently, running promotions, chasing algorithms, investing in tools—and still can't seem to get ahead financially. The books break even. The sales spike and disappear. The stress never really lets up. In this episode of What If? For Authors, Claire Taylor addresses a painful but essential question: What if struggling to get ahead isn't a personal failure—but the predictable result of broken systems? Using the Enneagram as a framework for liberation (not self-blame), Claire explores why productivity hacks, discipline fixes, virality, and AI tools often function as promising distractions rather than real solutions. She unpacks how dominant cultural narratives—bootstrapping, meritocracy, savior myths, and algorithmic “neutrality”—keep authors exhausted, isolated, and blaming themselves instead of questioning the systems designed to extract their time, money, and attention. This episode is not about giving up. It's about reclaiming agency, and choosing paths that reduce suffering, build solidarity, and support sustainable creative lives—on human terms. In this episode, you'll learn: Why struggling financially as an author is not a moral or personal failure How the Enneagram helps distinguish inner work from systemic harm What “promising distractions” are—and how they keep authors trapped Why algorithms, ads, and platforms are not neutral or merit-based How savior-seeking keeps people exploitable and disempowered The hidden cost of tying hope to virality, productivity, or being “chosen” How internalized cultural narratives quietly sabotage creativity and wellbeing What genuine agency, community, and non-extractive alternatives can look like Why stepping back from writing (temporarily or permanently) is not shameful Key Takeaways: You are not broken—and you were never failing Many author systems are designed to extract, not sustain Optimization does not equal liberation Hope does not come from being saved—it comes from collective agency Building community is a radical act in an extractive industry Anger can be alchemized into clarity, solidarity, and action Resources & Links: Learn more about Claire's coaching, courses, and books: liberatedwriter.com Write Iconic Characters: books2read.com/WIC Happy writing!

Episode Description In this year-end episode, Chris Wolfe, OD takes a step back from protocols, products, and positioning statements to examine a more fundamental question in clinical care: when does belief help us act, and when does belief get ahead of the data? Throughout the year, we've emphasized that belief during the comprehensive exam is what drives action. If doctors and teams do not truly believe something matters, it does not get prioritized. But belief has a failure mode. When belief outpaces evidence, especially in pediatric care, it can distort expectations, decision-making, and policy. Using the FDA's decision on low-dose atropine as a case study, this episode explores how belief forms, how it spreads, and where it may diverge from what the publicly available data actually show. This is not an argument against myopia management or atropine therapy. It is an attempt to slow the conversation down and examine effect size, study design, endpoints, and uncertainty with clarity and humility. What You'll Learn in This Episode Why myopia management itself is not the controversy, but certainty often is How belief influences behavior in the comprehensive exam, for better and for worse What the FDA actually said in its Complete Response Letter on SYD-101 How professional statements and press releases can amplify belief beyond available data What the STAR trial poster does and does not show, including effect size and subgroup uncertainty Why modest effect sizes behave differently in real-world clinical practice How to think about dose, endpoints, and population selection without oversimplifying Why belief should motivate action, but evidence should calibrate expectations Key Sources Referenced in This Episode FDA and Manufacturer Statements Sydnexis Complete Response Letter Press Release Sydnexis Receives Complete Response Letter from FDA for SYD-101 to Slow Pediatric Myopia Progression https://www.sydnexis.com/news/sydnexis-receives-complete-response-letter-from-fda-for-syd-101 Sydnexis Phase III STAR Trial Topline Data Press Release Sydnexis Announces Topline Pivotal Data from Phase 3 STAR Trial https://www.sydnexis.com/news/sydnexis-announces-topline-pivotal-data-from-phase-3-star-trial UK Approval Announcement (Based on STAR Data) Sydnexis Announces UK Approval of Ryjunea by Partner Santen https://www.sydnexis.com/news/sydnexis-announces-uk-approval-of-ryjunea Professional Organization Statements AAOMC Public Statement AAOMC Calls for Access to Proven Myopia Therapies as Low-Dose Atropine Gains Global Approvals https://aaomc.org AAPOS Commentary on Nonapproval of SYD-101 Available via LinkedIn and Healio OSN Clinical Commentary and Analysis Kyle Klute, OD – Optometry Simplified My Alternative Take on Atropine, Fast Progressors, and Effect Size (NNT Analysis) https://optometrysimplified.com/posts/optometry-simplified-weekly-my-alternative-take-on-atropine-fast-progressors-in-glaucoma-lab-test-ordering-and-more Strongly recommended for a detailed discussion of effect size and Number Needed to Treat. This episode references Kyle's framework without reproducing his calculations. Review of Myopia Management – Ashley Wallace Tucker, OD What Does the FDA Decision on SYD-101 Mean for Eye Care? Review of Optometry – Paul Karpecki, OD Sydnexis Snubbed Review of Optometry – Cory Lappin, OD Optometric Physician Commentary on SYD-101 Healio OSN – Ed Wilson, MD and John Hovanesian, MD AAPOS: Nonapproval of SYD-101 Has Important Implications Why This Episode Matters This episode is not about picking sides. It is about learning to sit in uncertainty without abandoning action. It challenges listeners to examine where belief helps patient care and where belief may unintentionally replace careful analysis. If you manage myopia, counsel parents, interpret clinical trials, or influence policy, this episode is designed to help you think more clearly, not more loudly.
