Fresh off the back of celebrating 60 years of Dr Who last year and looking ahead to welcoming the 15th Doctor to the blockbuster show, Tony is joined by Sophie Aldred who played Dr Who's assistant Ace and the writer, broadcaster and Dr Who superfan, Matthew Sweet. Together they look back over an incredible history of this abidingly successful show, sharing all the Whoniverse gossip from the very first episode starring William Hartnell as the Doctor; the cutting-edge soundtrack created by Delia Derbyshire; hearing how Sophie got the role as Ace aged just 24; though to the show getting cancelled in 1989 and the creative ‘wilderness years' of Dr Who when it was off air but not out of mind; Russell T Davis's reboot and the new Doctors for a new generation. We also get answers to the popular questions: was Tony ever in Dr Who? What kind of Doctor would he have made and is Baldrick the ultimate time traveller? Hosted by Sir Tony Robinson | @Tony_Robinson With Sophie Aldred | @sophie_aldred Sophie played The Doctor's companion Ace in the original television series (to Sylvester McCoy's Doctor). Power To Speak with Confidence. Conversations that will inspire and empower.
Wow! What a conversation. I loved listening to musical director, conductor and Westender, Jae Alexander, talking about his amazing career. I don't think there's been a musical either in the West End on or on Broadway in the last 40 years that Jae has not worked on – Cat's, Crazy For You, Follies, Beauty and the Beast, Oliver! SO much to talk about. From humble beginnings in Port Talbot to conducting The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert, he's work with many of the greats of musical theatre from Jerome Robbins to Leonard Bernstein. From Eartha Kitt to Carol Channing. As well as homegrown national treasures, Lulu and Bonnie Langford. We discuss all of the above, of course, but we also discuss his best friend and fellow Westender, Jill Nalder, the subject of the brilliant TV series, It's A Sin. They became flatmates together in the ‘Pink Palace' of the series and still share a house now, 40 years later! The series was written by their long-time friend and fellow Welshman, Russell T Davis. P.S. he also worked with my sister when she was a pink coiffed, Fantasy Banker, in Crazy For You! If you like musical theatre, you won't want to miss this. If you like music, you'll love this. If you're neither – shame on you!

You had to know we'd get here sooner or later. How could one of the most iconic villain races in Doctor Who not rate their own episode?
