A union seeks emergency funding for the Social Security Administration to rebuild its depleted workforce. The American Federation of Government Employees Council 220 is asking Congress for $16.5 billion to support SSA for the rest of fiscal 2023. More than half the funding would go toward hiring more employees. The SSA workforce is at its lowest headcount in decades. August 21st 2022, an experienced climber, who survived an avalanche in 2005 on Mt. She is the daughter of Sherry Jackson, a member of the janitorial staff at LP Clarke County. The LP Scholarship Program recognizes and rewards the accomplishments of its employees' children who excel in their studies and make positive contributions in their communities. Since 2001, the program has given more than .2 million in scholarships to over 420 students. This year, more than 50 students across the U.S. and Canada received an LP scholarship.Article Link

You constantly hear that stress is bad for your health. Yet not everyone knows how to identify if they are experiencing it, what to do about it, or even how to use it to their advantage.  In Episode 2 of our Powerful Mind Series, Sherry Jackson provides you with a different way to look at your stress. Sherry Jackson is a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and owner of Envisage Wellbeing.

He's a real tough guy, but almost everyone he deals with is just a bit tougher, but not tough enough to out tough his toughness. That was until he meets his weekly nemesis, Cat-Man! So Zach Kane is a character. He's a total loser. He's a washed up boxer that now is a borderline vigilante who can barely make ends meet. While that seems like a fairly cliché character model for a late 70s action movie, there's a nice twist to Kane's character; he believes he's still one tough guy. He's never come to terms with his loserness, either by denial or just complete lack of context. He keeps getting his butt kicked by life and his own decisions but he's oblivious. Imagine Johnny Lawrence in episode 1 of Cobra Kai but never having any sort of redemption. While this is mostly considered as an action movie, this is much more of a thriller with the plot centering around a man-hunt for a serial killer. The serial killer himself is quite the character as well. He's a rich kid with some serious mommy issues or at least issues with his mommy being an orgy-loving swinger. So he puts on his trash bag hood and stalks the night as Cat-Man. He literally makes hissing sounds whenever he's in some sort of danger. Little Richard is not exactly Zodiac. The cast is rounded out by Sherry Jackson's Jennifer. Jennifer also has some serious mental health issues or at least self-destructive tendencies. First, Sherry Jackson is a smoke-show and therefore so is Jennifer. Second, she's a well-to-do gal who appears to have a stable source of income. Third, she's an LA socialite with connections to the upper crust. Yet, she is given a bag of Pizza Hut by a guy in a parking lot and she's now swooning for him. He's covered in dirt and blood every time she's with him and comes and goes as he pleases, yet within two dates she's in love with our boy Zach. Why, Jennifer? Why?!?!? Bare Knuckles isn't your typical stinker of this vein. It's mildly slow. The action isn't good. There's relatively low amounts of stunts. There's zero shoot-outs and little blood. Yet, the price of admission is whether you can discover the good movie that is buried in the crap that is the narrative and film production. You may find yourself asking yourself where the line is on bounty-hunting and vigilantism. You may find yourself analyzing the motives of the characters. You may find yourself comparing Zach and Richard to Batman and Joker. You may find yourself living in a shotgun shack. And you may ask yourself, well why am I watching this? Its not for everyone, and its not any sort of bad movie show stopper. But it is a very interesting movie with much to be discussed by lovers of bad movies. We say go for it with your other film buddies, but don't bring any rookies in. This is for intermediates.

READING “THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD” PLAY Written by Leslie Gist & William Beasley  The play has been a dream of Leslie's for quite some time and now it is coming to fruition. Ms. Sherry Jackson, past foreman of The National Park Service asked Leslie to write a play about the Underground Railroad in a manner that kids could relate to. The theme is that kids in an Underground Railroad Safe House are going on a journey. This reading pulls the audience in as it covers two eras: the past and the present.  Mrs. Gist is working with Harlem Actors. For this rendition, the actors will be seated on the stage in their street clothes, and reading the script. While this is not a full blown production, it is a prelude to what is next.  The Saturday Academy is honored that Mrs. Gist asked our John Wesley family and friends to be the first audience. You are encouraged to come out with our kids and youth, use your imagination, digest some of our history in an alternative manner, and look forward to the next chapter.  Leslie continues to inspire us with all that she does. She has been a friend and staunch supporter of the Saturday Academy since 2010.  Our guests have a three to four hour trip as they are traveling from New Jersey and New York.  Please RSVP by 10 January 2014  Actors Justin W. This week's Live and Direct, episode number 10, is about the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) and the illegal and unconstitutional federal income tax. This podcast version is 1:00:47 long and the file size is 21.9MB. The podcast includes an extra 7 minute clip at the end about so-called tax criminals who were harassed and brutalized by the IRS, including a family whose small business and personal life was scrutinized mercilessly by the IRS, though they had done no wrong and had in fact paid their taxes, and a historic celebrity boxer during WWII named Joe Lewis whose winnings, though donated entirely to others, were taxed by the IRS, putting him so deeply into debt that his once-hated opponent paid for his funeral.Some talking points from the clips I played follow. Remember:The 16th Amendment was never legally ratified by the states.The federal income tax is a direct, unapportioned tax, which is illegal as per the Constitution.As Catherine Fitts (former Assistant Secretary of Housing) explained, the government's use of tax money is not reported, nor will they disclose the breakdown of their expenditures upon request, as they are legally required to do.The federal income tax money you pay only goes to the U.S. debt, as Reagan's investigative commission found."Income" is undefined in the tax code, though it is defined in the Constitution (the definition of which the tax code contradicts).Income is not wages or labor, it is gains from corporate activity (as defined in the Constitution).Your labor is your private property, as per the Supreme Court.The 16th Amendment (which was never legally ratified, remember) gave no new powers of taxation.So, if former IRS agents and government officials are no longer paying taxes, why are we? If tens of millions of people do not pay taxes (so says Sherry Jackson, former IRS agent) because they do not wish to continue propping up this illegal and unconstitutional perversion of governmental authority, why should we?Also, I missed this the first time: If you are audited, put in a FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) request asking to be shown applicable statutes and laws under which your income is taxed and the records substantiating the audit.Check out filmmaker Aaron Russo's site freedomtofascism.com. As I previously mentioned, there are news updates, blog entries, and video interviews there. You can watch the film online if you have a broadband connection. You may also rent or buy the movie on DVD. You should also check out David Champion's site nontaxpayer.org. An article on the America Patriot Friends Network site has some interesting things to say about taxation. Googling "How to STOP the IRS" cd will turn up some interesting research that a fellow named Eugene Kernan has compiled on exactly what to send the government to get them off of your trail as far as taxes. He wants $400 for the CD of materials, research, and instructions. While I understand he has gone to some effort to make this information available, $400 is expensive for a CD. I'll try to see if I can turn it up for less than that; I'll keep you posted. Furthermore, as you can see by searching the Internet, there have been many individual victories over the IRS as well as Supreme Court decisions recognizing the illegality of the federal income tax. The problem is that the lower courts do not recognize this. The more people that help make their others, the media, and their elected officials aware of this sham, the closer we will come to turning the tide of coercion foisted upon the American people.Some people say two things are inevitable: death, and taxes.
