Deutschland steckt noch immer in einer Rezession, die Reallohnverluste der vergangenen Jahre sind erheblich und zusätzlich müssen wir lesen, an den Tafeln herrsche inzwischen ein solcher Andrang, dass man die Lebensmittelausgabe rationieren muss. Bestätigt sich im Jahr 2024 allen Unkenrufen zum Trotz die sogenannte Verelendungstheorie von Karl Marx und Friedrich Engels? Auch wenn beide diesen Begriff nie verwendet haben, kann man aus ihren Analysen des Kapitalismus eine solche Theorie ableiten. Dabei muss jedoch zwischen einer absoluten und einer relativen Verelendung unterschieden werden. Die absolute Verelendung meint, dass die Arbeiter im fortgeschrittenen Kapitalismus immer weiter herabsinken, sogar unter ihre Subsistenz fallen, während mit der relativen Verelendung gemeint ist, dass zwar Lohnzuwächse denkbar sind, jedoch für die Seite des Kapitals der Reichtum in Relation dazu immer schneller wächst und sich damit die Ungleichheit stets vergrößert. Viele der Ideen, die Marxist*innen von Marx und Engels kennen, finden sich bereits bei Hegel wieder. Marx entwickelt seine Vorstellung ausgehend von einer Kritik an Hegel, stellt ihn nach eigenen Aussagen „vom Kopf auf die Füße“. Hegels Begriff von Arbeit, ein gewissen Fortschrittsdenken, vllt sogar die Ableitung des Staates erinnern sehr an Marx. Wenn Hegel über den „Pöbel“ nachdenkt geht es auch um den Anspruch derjenigen, die ihre "Subsistenz", also ihren Lebensunterhalt, in der bürgerliche Gesellschaft, nicht durch ihre Arbeit erhalten können, dem Pöbel, aber doch das Recht einfordern durch Arbeit ihre „Subsistenz“ zu finden. Genauer geht es darum, wie Hegel dieses Problem als ein Problem der Freiheit in der bürgerlichen Gesellschaft untersucht hat. Diese Untersuchung fand im Rahmen von Hegels Werk "Philosophie des Rechts" statt, das 1820 erschienen ist. Quickly discovering and exploring sequencers, synthesizers and samplers they began to experiment within the blueprint of Drum & Bass to create the soundtrack to the Allied mind. Their first release came in 2007 with ‘Unseen Sun // Lunar 3’ on SINUOUS RECORDS. This in turn led to a strong series of releases on respected labels such as DSCI4 & RISE AUDIO along with busy DJ schedule across Europe and beyond. Into 2015, Ed embarked on a hiatus to concentrate on other projects leaving Ali to develop the Allied infectious, futuristic dub and techno influenced take on DnB they had been crafting for many years. Beginning the year with the deep ‘Dissolved’ on the Berlin-based Subsistenz label, followed by the well-received ‘Heliox // Universe’ single on Mindtech Recordings. The 2nd half of the year saw the release of the exceptional and blissful ‘ANESTHESIA’ as part of the METHLAB // 1 EP on BAD TASTE RECORDINGS, a stunning collaboration with MACHINECODE in the form of ‘ABYSS’ on SUBSISTENZ and a remix of DnB pioneer SKYNET – with ‘ATLANTIS (Allied Remix)’ on Full Force Recordings. 2016 brought with it a new wave of detailed production from Allied, with him responsible for the first EP on award-winning label MethLab’s BNKR series with the ‘OBSCURITY’ EP, as well as releasing on Critical Music with Omega Point and Omega Point VIP. Fresh material is under construction, with rumours of a very significant release in 2017.

Current Value has been creating hard-hitting Drum and Bass for almost a decade now. Taking the production of Drum & Bass' dark sub-genres from roughly produced and pushing it to more refined and polished sound, while maintaining its aggressiveness. Berlin's Current Value (Tim Eliot) represents the forefront of the underground DnB scene, and is a rapidly emerging force in the harder, more techy end of the Dubstep spectrum. His forward thinking production combined with a highly technical approach to music and lean, tight arrangement, makes for some of the most instantly recognisable music currently released. Following substantial training in classical piano, Tim initially began dabbling in electronic music in 1992. Several years later he began receiving recognition from local Berlin radio stations and a series of irrefutably classic 12"s followed. Seminal works on Don Q and Position Chrome catapulted Current Value into a position of iconic status. Shortly thereafter, he began playing live across Europe and the USA; with his unique sound catching dancefloors afire worldwide.
