New Show Baby! Summer Movie Season has begun with #Thunderbolts* now #newavengers . Is marvel back? One franchise that never left is #JohnWick and we have plenty of Wick News. @Thatkevinsmith brings #dogma back to theaters and we debut the 10 Fanmandmants!
This week on End Credits, we finally embrace summer!.. movie season. We're struggling to get summer-like weather outdoors, but conditions are hot in the movie theatre now that Summer Movie Season is officially here and it starts with the movie we're reviewing this week, Thunderbolts*. What else is coming? We're going to talk about that too! This Wednesday, May 7, at 3 pm, Adam A. Donaldson and Peter Salmon will discuss: Summer Movie Preview Part 2. Obviously, we did a sequel. There were so many unanswered questions from last week's first part of the Summer Movie Preview like what's coming out in July and August? So this week, we will pick up where we left off by talking about the rest of the summer movie slate including more superheroes, some romance, some dinosaurs, and at least one instance where a serious actor tries slapstick! REVIEW: Thunderbolts* (2025). The Marvel Cinematic Universe. Have you heard of it? It's seen better days, and you can call it over saturation or call it a creative lull, but what the MCU really needs right now is a winner. So here come the losers! Thunderbolts* follows a group of black ops agents - the ones who exist between heroism and villainy - and asks the question, why not us? Led by indie darlings Florence Pugh and Sebastian Stan, can the Thunderbolts stage the superhero comeback the industry needs right now? We'll see. End Credits is on CFRU 93.3 fm and cfru.ca Wednesday at 3 pm.

Midway Avenue Productions Presents, The Genre of Your Life Podcast!Episode #74 | Happy May & Welcome to the Start of Summer! ☀️
This week on End Credits, things get spooky! That's a weird thing to say when summer is almost here, but in today's episode we'll confirm that Summer Movie Season is definitely here, and we will talk about what you can expect in some of the weeks to come. After that, we get into the spooky stuff with a ghost story from someone we recently talked about on this show. This Wednesday, April 30, at 3 pm, Adam A. Donaldson and Tim Phillips will discuss: Summer Movie Preview Part 1. This is the last show for April, on the last day of April, and you know what that means... It's Summer Movie Season! This requires a preview, and in our endless quest for completism, we will keep doing this until we get through all the movies that are coming out this summer starting with what's being released between now and the first week of June including good guys, bad guys and something weird. Presence (2025). We've already done one Steven Soderbergh movie this year, Black Bag, but did you know that two Soderbergh movies have been released - so far - this year? The other one is now available on VOD, and it's called Presence. It's a ghost story, but it's from the ghost's point of view, watching the strange dynamics of this family that moved into a new house and struggle with all their internal drama including Chloe, the one member who senses... The Presence. We will talk about why you shouldn't ghost on Presence. End Credits is on CFRU 93.3 fm and cfru.ca Wednesday at 3 pm.
As anyone who is a regular listener to Movies 101 knows, co-hosts Dan Webster, Nathan Weinbender and Mary Pat Treuthart are inveterate movie fans. They spend each week discussing what they've seen, and often agree—though not always. And that may be true this week as they do something just a bit different. Yes, they discuss a specific movie, namely the British import “The Penguin Lessons,” starring Steve Coogan. After that, though, they take a look at the upcoming summer movie season and lay out what they're most excited, if anything, about seeing—such summer schedules being, as they traditionally are, full of sequels, remakes and movies that feature either superheroes or exploding cars. And sometimes both.

On this edition of The Sam Bussell Podcast, a recap of this summers slate of films and which ones were Sams favorites from the 2024 Summer Movie Season.
FTP Movie Show: Trap -- Final weeks of summer movie season
Well, we've reached (perhaps) the final big hitter of the Summer Movie Season 2024. This week, John and El'Ahrai deliver a Count-Pointercount review of "Deadpool and Wolverine"! Thrill to all the Robert Bresson references, both in the movie and the reviews! Did we hear a single? Find out! Plus all the usual stuff. I remember signing a contract, to play ball not to be put to sleep by some two bit carney hypnotist!
In this 423rd episode of “Elton Jim” Turano's “CAPTAIN POD-TASTIC,” Jim Turano recalls when the summer movie season gave us weekly blockbusters.

Would you see a musical adaptation of "The Notebook" or "Back to the Future"? Maybe "Water for Elephants" or "The Great Gatsby" is more your thing. These are just some examples of how movies are now being adapted into musicals, rather than the other way around. Co-host Bruce Miller talks about his recent trip to New York where he spent a week seeing some of the hottest shows on Broadway, plus he shares his experience getting an autograph from Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe, after a performance of "Merrily We Roll Along." And do you remember around this time last year, when films like "The Super Mario Bros. Movie," "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" and "Fast X" were making a splash at the box office? 2024's summer movie season is stumbling after a sluggist opening for "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga" over Memorial Day weekend. The family-friendly fim "IF" has struggled. And even this year's box office leader, "Dune: Part Two," has yet to yet to reach $300 million domestic. (You can see the full list at Box Office Mojo.) We discuss some of the problems facing the industry, most notably the quick move to streaming services. And finally, the new FX for Hulu limited series "Clipped" begins June 4. It features Ed O'Neill as Donald Sterling, the former owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, and Cleopatra Coleman as V. Stiviano. Hear from both stars on this week's episode. Contact us! It's the (unofficial) start of summer movie season in this week, and we kick it off with Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt in "The Fall Guy." Opening Credits: This week on Live Breathe Film with Corey, Doug, and Murph...Feature Presentation: 2024 Summer Box Office Draft - This is one of our more lively box office pools to predict with sure things such as Despicable Me 4, nostalgia plays that have potential to overperform like Twisters, and two complete wildcard westerns from Kevin Costner. Post-Credits: A Weak End to a Strike Plagued Season - It was never going to be a massive season at the box office this Winter/Spring as the dual strikes of 2023 limited the output for 2024, but the way movie studios scheduled nearly every sure thing from the months of January through April strictly in March led to a very weak finish heading into the all important month of May. Can Zendaya finish out April strong in her first theatrical lead role before Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt officially kick off the 2024 Summer Movie Season?

Let the fall season of A Fans Perspective begin! To kick things off, we give our thoughts on the succeesses and failures of this past summer movie system. To us, it felt like the first time we had multiple movies at the theater to enjoy. We discuss what we enjoyed, what we missed, why certain things didn't work, and why others didn't. We also dive into what may be the reason certain movies, and certain studios aren't as successful as they were in the past. Four Lambs enter, one Lamb leaves, that is after you vote for the Summer Season that you think is the Greatest. Dave Anderson leads off with what could be a knockout punch, but Todd Liebenow follows up with a strong right cross and Nick Rehak has a solid uppercut. Richard Jabs and moves but has a good combination to finish off. You are the judges. Come listen to us talk about the summer films of 1975, 1984, 1987 and 2008. There are some great films and a couple that should result in a TKO or a disqualification for hitting below the belt. Get your scorecards ready and then vote on the Lamb Site.
