We're joined this week by Delaware Senator Chris Coons, chairman of the Senate Ethics Committee. This week in our battleground state... Michigan TV stations are raking in the cash with campaign spending well over $200-million, fueled by close races for President, U.S. Senate and congressional districts and control of the state legislature. The Harris campaign reports it has raised a staggering $1-billion in 7 weeks. Michigan is also getting massive personal attention from the national campaigns, with candidates and surrogates making campaign visits on an almost daily basis. Republicans are hoping concerns over electric vehicles will put them over the top in Michigan, with both JD Vance and Mike Rogers calling for reneging on a federal promise of $500-million for upgrading Lansing's General Motors downtown assembly plant. Rogers is battling a new carpetbagger charge with the revelation that the house he claims as his home doesn't even have an occupancy permit And in the Bizarro World that is Donald Trump, the week's four strangest developments: The Kremlin confirms Trump sent COVID test equipment for Putin's personal use even as Americans were unable to get tested Republican governors and U.S. Senators praise the federal response to the two hurricanes in direct contradiction of Trump's claims; President Biden calls Trump a liar It turns out Trump's $60 “God Bless the USA” Bibles are being printed in China And when Trump said on a podcast that he's a very truthful person, the podcast host breaks out in laughter Slotkin, Rogers spar in Michigan U.S. Senate debate. Sometimes, amidst the chaos of life, we find solace in the stories of resilience and the warmth of community. Our latest episode is no different, as we weave through the tapestry of personal anecdotes, from the laugh-out-loud trials of perfecting a podcast intro to the simple, understated joy of sharing donuts with our furry companions on the patio. But it's not all chuckles and pastries; we delve into the hard-hitting reality of today's economic pressures, sharing our own creative strategies for staying afloat in these trying times. The emotional core of our discussion shines through as we sit down with Christine and Peter, the founders of the Mary Moon Foundation. Through their words, we honor the memory of their daughter, Mary, and her courage in facing neuroblastoma. Their story is a testament to the strength found in grief, as they channel their loss into a mission of bringing smiles to critically ill children. Their foundation's initiatives, from art programs to festive theme parties, underscore the profound impact that care and community have on families navigating the murky waters of hospital stays. As we wrap up, we shift gears, injecting a dose of humor with a joke that's sure to split opinions—laughter is, after all, a balm for the soul. Christine O'reilly is an accountant and bookkeeper. After spending 10+ years in the worlds of private and public accounting, Christine knew she loved what she was doing, but she also knew there was a huge disconnect between herself and her clients. She became a finance manager for small business owners by supporting them through every phase of their business and speaking to them like HUMANS! Main Business Issues: Scaling her business while maintaining a work life balance with her family Christine's Key Insights And Takeaways: After quitting her corporate career Christine quickly created a 6 figure business and began a new life in Mexico with her family Despite her success she found herself working towards more and more growth at the expense of time with her family This opened up a deeper conversation where Christine realized that she was chasing an undefined target of success because she was protecting herself from ever ‘failing at making it' Additionally, she began to realize how chasing more and more undefined success meant she kept reaffirming the sense of ‘not good enough' and put her on a hamster wheel of work that essentially led to nowhere This led her to the awareness that no success would ever fill ‘the hole in her soul' which came from a sense of unworthiness Connect w/ Christine: https://www.linkedin.com/in/christine-oreilly-finance/ https://www.instagram.com/christineinfinance/ https://christineinfinance.shinepages.com/
