The Honorary Consul of France is hopeful Kilrush's twin town revival could bring an economic boost to both regions. It follows the announcement that the West Clare town is reviving its 40-year-old relationship with Plouzané (Plow - zan - ay) in France. Although the two communities are almost 600km apart, the coastal French town is hoping to build partnerships around the Kilrush based Maritime Training Centre and the Irish whale and dolphin group. Honorary Consul of France in Clare, Dr Loïc Guyon, thinks with France being Ireland's closest EU neighbour, there is a great opportunity for collaborations.

In episode 233 UNP founder and curator Grant Scott is in his shed reflecting on the importance of research to photographers, asking questions you want answers for and getting ready for winter. Plus this week, photographer Math Roberts takes on the challenge of supplying Grant with an audio file no longer than 5 minutes in length in which he answer's the question ‘What Does Photography Mean to You?' Math Roberts is a Welsh photographer based in Swansea, South Wales who primarily uses the genre of street photography to approach his projects, producing work through intuition rather than preconceived concepts. He studied art and design during his school and college years, later teaching himself photography after buying a cheap digital camera from the boot of a car outside his local pub. Since then, Roberts has been awarded several commissions in different areas such as the theatre, music, architecture, corporate events, and festivals. He is currently working towards a book for his long-term project, Pretty Shitty City, a play on words originally by Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, and borrowed from the cult classic movie Twin Town, which documents working class people and spaces within the city of Swansea and surrounding areas. A selection of twenty-five images from the project were exhibited at the Volcano Theatre on Swansea High Street in September 2020. Their centers offer a model that is sometimes described as intensive outpatient rehabilitation or ‘dayhab'. With two centers in London — and more opening — and an online offer, Help Me Stop promises a practical option for those who are struggling not just with addiction, but also securing rehabilitation. The value of dayhab Inpatient rehabilitation is often seen as the gold-standard when it comes to dealing with addiction. By having the patient onsite and in a controlled environment, intensive treatment can take place without the stresses and strains of ordinary life triggering a relapse. But inpatient treatment is not without its disadvantages. For many people, inpatient rehabilitation simply is not an option. Some might have employers who will not release them, and they cannot afford to lose their job. Others might have family they need to care for. And, for many, the cost is prohibitive. Inpatient facilities can often cost around $1,250 per day, and with stays typically lasting four-to-six weeks, they are not widely affordable. Help Me Stop offers an option for those that need the support of a rehab, but cannot stay in a residential facility. It promises intensive support in a structured program that allows them to continue their normal life, while costing less than a few days in a residential facility. How Help Me Stop works There is a lot of research into addiction and rehabilitation, as well as many people who have overcome addiction without a formal rehab experience. Help Me Stop, therefore, calls on that wealth of knowledge to put in place all the components of rehabilitation that make success more likely. Their programs are based on international guidelines for addiction treatment, offering a mix of therapy and group work, backed up with medical support if required, to help the addict on their journey to abstinence. Both their in-person and online options follow a similar model, with six-week intensive programs and support. Intensive therapy sessions Help Me Stop use the well-known 12-step approach. Although this was developed for Alcoholics Anonymous, and is perhaps still most associated with them, it is a common framework for addiction support groups. Help Me Stop's clients will attend, for the first four weeks, five group sessions a week, dropping to three a week for their final two weeks. In these groups, they will give and receive support from the group as they learn about their addiction and how to deal with it. These are supplemented with weekly one-to-one therapy sessions. These use cognitive behavioral therapy. This is a practical therapy, that seeks to help patients understand how their addiction works in real life, and develop strategies and techniques to manage it. It is reinforced with practice between sessions, and the aim is that the patient will, effectively, become their own therapist, identifying how their thoughts and feelings affect their actions, and vice versa, and how to take practical steps to change their behavior. Family support Good rehab will always offer support for the wider family and network of an addict. Having a supportive network will improve the chances of recovery, but only if the support is offered in the right way. Loved ones might plead for change or issue ultimatums because of their love, but are not helpful to someone caught in a cycle of addition. Help Me Stop offers free family support, which can be essential during a dayhab model since family members can, unwittingly, be part of the addiction cycle, perhaps because of the stress caused by family dynamics or issues of co-dependency. Help Me Stop's family support will help the addict's family and loved one's understand how they can play a role in helping the addict recover and return to a loving family life. Aftercare Rehabilitation is a process, and there is never a clear point at which the addict moves from rehabilitation into a lifelong recovery. And with relapse occurring more commonly immediately after a formal end of rehab, aftercare is vital. Help Me Stop's dayhab model avoids the shock of ending a residential stay. Their intensive program also has a slight taper, with slightly fewer group sessions in the last weeks, helping the client with their adjustment for recovery. However, it adds to this with three months' free aftercare. These weekly groups offer those starting their recovery the opportunity to return to a supportive environment where they can share and solve the problems and challenges they have encountered. Help Me Stop's options Help Me Stop offers two different options, either face-to-face in one of their locations, or online. In both cases, the model has flexibility built in. Clients can choose between different ‘streams' to suit their lifestyle. Those with children, for example, can opt for daytime sessions while their children are at school, while those at work can attend evening sessions. Both the in-person and online options following similar, best practice, addiction treatment models, so for many the choice might be down to convenience or even preference. Both options are very competitively priced, offering six-weeks of individualized treatment at just £3,000 ($4,000) for face-to-face treatment and £1,500 ($2,000) for online treatment. Costing a fraction of the price of inpatient rehab, Help Me Stop offers a realistic rehabilitation option to people for whom such help was previously out of reach. And following established treatment models means it is effective; the dayhab model was pioneered by The Twin Town center in Los Angeles, and 76% of their clients are clean nine months after completing the program, an incredible success rate when studies typically find relapse rates of at least 40%. Help Me Stop offers a high-quality rehabilitation program. Their rehabilitation is structured to offer the therapy, support, and accountability that make successful recovery more likely. Whether it's because inpatient rehab is impossible, or just unappealing, Help Me Stop offers a proven, and affordable, rehab option for those looking to conquer their addictions.

In this episode Becky's snobby cousins come to town to enter their daughters in a twin contest; Jesse is determined to show up Dick Donaldson and enters Nicky and Alex as well. Meanwhile, at the contest, Stephanie meets twin boys and pretends she's a twin to be with them. This episode really was fun but also caused my hackles to raise due to Becky's snobbish cousins Dick and Donna Donaldson who flew all the way from Nebraska to enter their twin daughters Debbie and Darla in a Favorite Twins Competition in San Francisco. They twin girls were awful and rude to both Joey and Michelle. And Dick and Donna were taking cheap shots at Jesse like for example in this Season he's going to night school to get his GED and they laugh at him because they think he's joking. They also joke how he's a "struggling musician" and constantly bringing up Doyce Plunk Becky's old boyfriend and lives in a mansion and buys his wife a new coupe deville every year. Dick also tells Jesse out of earshot of Becky that "we all expected Becky to do better" as in she settled for Jesse like she married below her class, settling for less. I really wished Becky would have stood up for her husband and told her cousins off. I would have, family or no family you don't talk to my spouse or significant other that way and get away with it. I also discuss in length about Stephanie's should'a been a "no means no moment" with this boy in her class Jimmy Laster who is always pulling her hair and giving her noogies. Being this is the 90's DJ subscribes to the "maybe he just likes you" theory and advises Steph to give the boy a call, resulting in him telling her he'll call the police on her for harassment if she ever phones him again. Good grief! The five-day festival was hosted by the National Assembly for Wales in conjunction with a lengthy list of influential and creative partners, and was part of a programme of events to mark 20 years of devolution. Known for his international, award-winning, roles in The Amazing Spider-Man, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, Nanny McPhee Returns, Mr Nice, Notting Hill, Twin Town and many more, Rhys talked about his career to date, what inspires him, his love of Wales and his memory of the journey to devolution with comedian, writer and presenter Daniel Glyn. Jock and Connor are two best buddies on a mission to find a bale of washed up cocaine on the West Cork coast, on stolen bikes. Their paths cross with an over zealous police officer and genuinely terrifying psychopaths whilst also being a journey of friendship and sort of maturity. It’s easy to compare this with the likes of Twin Town, but The Young Offenders has lots of heart and resists the urge to go full on gross out and it makes it all the more relatable and enjoyable. Mark Thomas is one of the most prolific and versatile composers working in the industry today.  Before becoming a composer he was a violinist performing with world renowned orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra working with such composers as Jerry Goldsmith, James Horner, John Barry, Michael Kamen, Alan Silvestri and John Williams. In the late 80's Thomas began his composing career and since then has worked on over 110 features and television programs. In late 2016, Jason Drury talked to Mark Thomas via Skype about working with the London Symphony on film scores, transitioning from performing scores to writing scores, how he got to work on the television series, Shaun the Sheep, and many other fascinating stories.
