Week of: 6-26-2023 Xbox Gaming News, Releases and A Fun Fact
On this episode we discuss the first 3 days of the Xbox FTC trial as well as the Nintendo Direct announcements.
Welcome to the Day One Patch Podcast, where we cover the week's gaming news, rumors, reports, and more. This week Ryan and Matt discussed the Xbox FTC Trial including its leaked emails on Microsoft's spending habits, redacted information showing through, and the competitive nature (or maybe lack thereof) of the Activision-Blizzard deal. The guys also discussed Nintendo's comments on how they intend to make the next-gen console a smoother transition account-wise with what we hope will be a simple login to an existing Nintendo account that will give gamers access to their previous purchases - much like how PlayStation and Xbox Live accounts have worked for generations.

The Xbox Activision deal is in the crosshairs and the latest FTC case update has some huge discoveries. The Xbox FTC lawsuit will be continuing but Phil Spencer, Matt Booty, and Jim Ryan have all had emails exposed through the process. The FTC vs Microsoft trial is about halfway through, so this will serve as an update on what has happened so far. There is a Matt Booty email along with a Pete Hines email that is not helping. It is clear that the latest Xbox news is they want to put Sony out of business by spending big money. Even though Jim Ryan doesn't seem concerned about Call of Duty, there is a bigger strategy at play here. The Xbox Activision Blizzard deal likely has a long road ahead of it. Those hoping that the Microsoft Activision Blizzard deal goes through have longer to wait.
