On today's show I take a look back at the season that was HS basketball. Just a little bit with more to come in the upcoming days as I'm looking forward to having guest come on the show so we can really take a look back at the HS basketball season. Both boys and girls. There will be more to come on this HS Basketball Wrap Up. But there are some individuals I want to mention. Mia Hannagan Garden City, Maliyah Lansang, Macayla Askew Derby HS), Skylar Seals (Maize South HS), Jack Ulwelling (Derby HS) and many more not named I congratulate you on your post season awards.
On the show today we have a schedule of games to come and some already played. Already some upsets. A full rundown tomorrow.
On today's show I had the honor of having Chance Liebau from ESPN Wichita. My apologies for the tech issues. But we made the best of a bad situation. Afterwards I went off the cuff to praise women sports and especially women's basketball. I read the comments how regardless of how the game of women's basketball is being talked about, we're starting to recognize names and faces of players it doesn't stop some from saying it's boring to watch. Is it because they're not doing rim rattling high flying dunks like a Ja' Morant or shooting logo 3 pointers like Steph Curry. I would challenge anyone who has the bored mentality if you have nieces, granddaughters, etc... Get out and watch them one time even if it's at Biddy level. It might change your mind.
On today's podcast Bethel College is tournament bound as they will be dancing in the NAIA tournament. Bethel is coached by Jayson Artaz and the team is led by the likes of Carmelo Yakubu and Cade Kittrell. Also as we embark upon another High School postseason it worth noting and taking a look at the talent level in the City League especially when you look at girls basketball. What makes it unique is the mix of young and upperclassmen with some of the teams having a good nucleus underclassmen which sets these teams up for long term success. And in a battle for a 3-Star recruit that could benefit both programs who will it be? Wichita State or Texas A&M for the services of Noah Hill
Today I had two great guests in Harper Dunn who post a season average of 21.9PPG and 18.7RPG for Corona/Vaughn HS in Corona, NM. Her career stats starts in 8th grade during the 2022-23 season she averaged 15.0PPG and her freshman saw an increase in production when she averaged 21.4PPG which gives her a career average in a total of 66 games as of this data 19.7PPGMy next guest is from nearby Haysville, KS in Addison Woods who plays for Haysville Campus HS. Addison is a 5'9" junior guard who had to deal with concussion issues this season however she still averages 5.3PPG 1.0APG, 2.9RPG. For her career which includes an average of 6.3PPG as a sophomore 5.8PPG, 0.8APG, 3.2RPG. Both students also excel in the classroom as they both boast 4.0GPA

Also caught up with Coach Bryan Chadwick HC of the Derby HS Lady Panthers who came up short in there quest to take the mid-season championship at the Glaciers Edge Tournament in Emporia. Also mentioned a player due to injuries decided to concentrate her focus on softball in Carsen Carpenter. When asked what was missed about her he stated her physicality and willingness to take a charge.
On this episode there were a few rare Monday night games with some teams just having wrapped up mid season tournament play then getting ready to play back to back games. Then I take a look at some more NBA trade talk and why Myles Garrett wants out of Cleveland.
Today we take a deep dive into the scores from this past week's slew of high school girls basketball games and a few boys game as well. Then we dive into the the trade that sent Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks in what was deemed as a win now move and in return the Lakers get Luka Doncic in what can be deemed as a move for the future
Today's show takes a look back at scores as the boys basketball teams were in mid season tournaments. No tournament couldn't have been more better than the Dodge City TOC which had a loaded lineup with four undefeated teams. It was a tournament in which KC Piper took down Wichita Heights which in turn led to a matchup with Derby. In the championship game Derby survived 2 OT's to win the championship and remain undefeated. Heights rebounded in the consolation game knocking off Junction City.
