Pregnancy is hard as fuck. There is so much change in such a short period of time, major hormonal shifts, financial stress and pressure, relationships being tested, weight gain, physical discomfort, fear of birth, miscarriages, stillbirths, challenging family dynamics, postpartum, anxiety about being perfect, etc, etc. I get it, I see you, and all of these fears, worries, anxieties, and emotions are all absolutely valid. I'm afraid of birth, I'm afraid of becoming a mother, I'm afraid of how this will change my life, my marriage, and my work. And yet, I'm doing it all anyways. Fear is the emotion that holds us back, it is paralyzing and keeps us stuck in our comfort zone. Even if we're unhappy in our relationships, in our work, in our pain at least it's familiar, right? Fear requires us to be brave, to take action, and step into the abyss and the unknown. In this episode I explore the connection between pregnancy, childbirth, and ayahuasca, how to identify where fear is stored in the body, and most importantly how to master and befriend your fear so that you can purposefully create a life that you love.
I often meet women when they're in the midst of an unexpected crisis whether it be a major health issue, the end of a relationship, being let go from a job, etc. In our work together I help them reclaim their sense of control so that they can grow, heal, and transform through their experiences instead of continuing to feel like a victim to unforeseen circumstances. Why do we have such a hard time letting go? We feel guilty for not feeling the way we were supposed to, guilty for continuing to live when someone else has passed on, guilty for feeling angry and resentful, guilty for letting people down, and more. Honestly, this is an episode I was nervous to share because I open up about experiences and challenges that very few women outside of my Balanced Woman community, even my closest friends and family members, know very much about. I just got back from spending 3 weeks with my family which has me reflecting on just how far our relationships have come. Don't get me wrong, they are wonderful, supportive, and beautiful people but just like any other family, we are far from perfect. In this episode I share how I healed old wounds, sensitivities and triggers, and finally learned how to love and accept myself without relying on anyone else's validation.

Out of the blue, I had a seizure and lost consciousness this past weekend. As we move through our healing journeys there may be moments that feel like we're falling back into old patterns, behaviors, illnesses and we'll experience flare ups of symptoms. Welcome to my very first podcast! In this initial episode I lift the veil on my own healing journey and what it took to become the woman and the healer I am today. I struggled with so many issues since childhood that became progressively worse in my 20s. By 2014 I was completely lost. I was depressed, suicidal, heavier than I had ever been, directionless, and disconnected from myself, my relationships, and the world around me. My hormones were all over the place, my mood was unstable, I was unexpectedly fainting multiple times a week, I had been diagnosed with cervical dysplasia and HPV, OCD in the form of dermatillomania, chronic fatigue, migraines, IBS, insomnia, and severe anxiety not to mention the emotional ramifications of being sexually assaulted. In short, I was a mess. I poured thousands of dollars and many years trying one thing after another - doctors, specialists, therapists, surgeons, and nutritionists, medications, diet and exercise regime...it felt like it would never end and nothing really stuck. So what finally empowered me to heal? The BIG shift happened when I realized that everything I needed was within me and that I could transform my greatest challenges into extraordinary strength, resilience, and empathy. It wasn't easy, but I aligned with the belief that we're all here for a purpose and I needed to discover mine. Once I did, committing to the practices that supported me in becoming a compassionate, disciplined, and healthy person became deeply meaningful and made my results inevitable. When it's a purpose that's bigger than our own pain, sadness, and suffering there is a depth of motivation and willpower that fuels us and helps us break through those blockages and overcome obstacles! The weight began to just fall off, my hormones regulated themselves, I worked through my emotional blockages, discovered peace within myself, and discovered that my purpose in life is to serve women EVERYWHERE so that they may heal themselves as I have.
