God lytting!

Today we are joined with singer/songwriter Kasey Karlsen of Deadlands around the release of their brand new debut EP titled "SEVEN". The absolute hype of this release is astronomical and it is amazing to pick Kasey's brain at such an exciting time in her career. She shares with us how she used to rock out in her bedroom and dream about being in a band as a kid. We also learn how she found her voice and became a jack of all trades "Swiss Army Knife" of metal vocals and styles. Deadlands also recently dropped a single with The Pretty Wild and we get a behind the scenes look into that song Kundalini and making that music video with a bunch of live snakes. Lots of insight, laughs, and Kasey leaves us with advice for any aspiring vocalists wanting to turn their music into a profession.

Leveling Up: Creating Everything From Nothing with Natalie Jill
This episode offers a judgment-free zone for women curious about eyelid procedures, with practical advice, honest recovery stories, and the empowering reminder that at this age and stage, you don't owe anyone an explanation for your personal choices. This honest chat dives into navigating the judgment that comes with beauty decisions—whether you choose interventions or age naturally—and the surprising psychological journey of seeing your face change after surgery. Host Natalie Jill and guest Karen Karlsen both emphasize that cosmetic procedures aren't about "hating yourself" but rather aligning your appearance with your vibrant internal self. They explore the disconnect that happens when your reflection doesn't match how you feel inside, and provide a detailed breakdown of different eye rejuvenation options, recovery expectations, and crucial factors to consider when selecting a surgeon. Whether you're considering similar procedures or simply interested in conversations about pro-aging (not anti-aging), this discussion provides the real talk that's often missing from beauty conversations. Innlandsporten blir Norges første komplette energistasjon for næringstransport. Meg Waters (Glamour, Stylist and Little White Lies) and Sarah Collier join Flixwatcher to review Meg's choice Last Night in Soho. Last Night in Soho (2021) is a psychological horror from director Edgar (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) Wright. 1960s obsessed Eloise/Ellie (Thomasin McKenzie) moves to London from sleepy Cornwall to follow her dreams and study fashion at London College of Fashion. She falls victim to the taunts of queen bee university bully Jocasta (Synnøve Karlsen) and moves into a creepy bedsit with Ms Collins (Diana Rigg, in her final role) as the landlady. In her new bedsit Ellie has a dream where she is transported by to the swinging sixties London and is transported into the body of Sandie (Anya Taylor-Joy), an aspiring singer, and meets seedy bar owner Jack (Matt Smith). When Ellie's dreams start merging into reality things take a dark turn. Views on Last Night in Soho were mixed, there are some excellent technical scenes and 1960s styling but the clunky plot and unintentional comedy made for an uneven watch. The overall rating from the combined scores was 2.69, making it the lowest Flixwatcher rated Edgar Wright film so far. In today's episode of Category Visionaries, we speak with Tine Karlsen, CEO and Co-Founder of Vev, an all-in-one design platform that's raised $7 Million in funding, about why a web-dominant economy demands a new generation of design tools to empower visual creativity without sacrificing smooth functioning. Learning by doing, Vev has developed a seamless visual developing platform that integrates with the hard technology of back-end software to cover everything from paywall pieces to interactive scrolling narratives. We speak about Tine's background in the Norwegian tech sector and her thoughts on what makes it special as an early adopter of innovation, the hands-on learning that helped her become a 'Jack-of-all-trades,' why media companies led the way in Vev's market development, and why giving designers the power to build without code is streamlining the world of web design like never before. Topics Discussed: How Tine came to found a company through learning by doing, and what it means to be a 'jack-of-all-trades' The unique position of the Norwegian tech sector and how a high tech transition is pushing new currents of innovation Why traction in the media industry was critical to Vev's market growth How inclusivity is key to Vev's value proposition, putting design tools in the hands of creatives without cumbersome code How code-free design is transforming an existing market category, and what it means for the future of web design Vev's vision to establish themselves as the go-to front end builder in the next 3 years Favorite book: The Hard Thing About Hard Things: Building a Business When There Are No Easy Answers

Yale Farm Road in the small town of Varick, New York, was quiet on the afternoon of 20 November, 2008. Karl and Cindy Karlsen had just returned home from a family funeral. Before they left, Karl's son, Levi, had come over to do some repair work to his truck in the garage. As they pulled up outside, they observed that Levi's car was still parked in the driveway…SPONSORS -June's Journey: Thank you to June's Journey for sponsoring this episode! After rising in the ranks of banking management in New Jersey for over 20 years, Leila Karlsen made her career pivot to become an independent gourmet coffee shop owner. The idea germinated while taking afternoon breaks from the bank at a local establishment. Leila loved the atmosphere, community, and of course - the coffee. She was chatting with the owners one day and that very conversation changed the course of her career path and second act. In this episode Leila talks to Christa about how she transferred her professional skills to create something of her own, but struggled with the feeling that her career pivot from banking to coffee didn't make sense. Listen in for more on how the owner of Barista's Coffee House in Linwood NJ overcame her fear of the unknown and made her dream gig a reality!

Liberace was many things. He was a talented pianist. A singer. A showman. He was also… a messy bitch. So buckle up, folks! His struggles as a closeted gay man in Hollywood will have you feeling terrible for him. But his late-in-life relationship with a teenager will have you feeling terrible *about* him. Then Brandi tells us about a terrible man with an adorable name. When Christina Karlsen died in a house fire, investigators wondered if her husband, Karl Karlsen, might have had something to do with it. He'd managed to rescue their three children. Why not Christina? And was it a coincidence that the fire had started right outside the bathroom, where Christina was taking a bath? And now for a note about our process. For each episode, Kristin reads a bunch of articles, then spits them back out in her very limited vocabulary. Brandi copies and pastes from the best sources on the web. And sometimes Wikipedia. (No shade, Wikipedia. We love you.) We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the real experts who covered these cases.
