This is one of my favourite topics in psychology and mental skills training. Learn how to shift your mind from being in a 'threat' state to a 'challenge' state so you can perform at a higher level in training, at work, or in life. In this episode you will learn a variety of mental skills to help you become aware of when you have shifted into an unhelpful emotional state for training or competing, how to shift it, and more importantly, how to understand yourself on a deeper level. www.robmason.run Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100089043347091 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/robmasonruns/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/robmasonruns TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@robmasonruns?_t=8Z7N9pGnvY9&_r=1 Fundraiser for Westmead Children's Hospital Burns Unit: www.400in4.org
Learn how to build your Athletic Identity to help you unlock your potential as a runner, triathlete or in any field of performance. In the 2 races immediately after Iearnt this stuff, it skyrocketed my performance and I had a 2nd place followed by a 1st place finish. You may have other goals other than coming first - but if you apply the tools in this episode, your performance and enjoyment WILL improve. In this special episode, Mark shares his journey from being a non-runner in 2016 to running for 24 hours on a treadmill attempting to break a world record only 6 years later. His adventures in dreaming up huge challenges, and the way he brings people together in a truly amazing story. I hope Mark's story of how he started running, and what he has done since will inspire you as much as it has me.
In this second interview with Joe Ward, we dive deeper into his approach to ultra running. We hear about Joe's experience representing Australia at the Asia and Oceanic 24 hr Championships in Bangalore, India, and learn more about his mindset, how he prepares for races, and his outlook on life. You can also go back and listen to the first interview with Joe - episode 12. I hope you enjoy this interview as much as I did. Rob athlete.mindset.training@gmail.com
