Fred Mady defines his absolutes. What are your absolutes?"If you want to be a better rep, find a better manager." - as a manager, don't accept average performance. You have to help your reps improve and hold them accountable. Managers add value by adding their top 25.Absolute - Value or principle that is accepted as valid.JDI - Just do it. Whatever your delay, struggle of issue is, just show up and get it done. No excuses and start with successes.Know Thyself - You can't fake it and need to be comfortable with yourself and be fine in that process.Create a Positive Buzz About You - Certain reps have a "buzz" about them. People will talk about you because you are positive. Positivity is contagious and people will want to be a part of it.Challenge Your Prospects - Ask your clients/prospects for their business after you have earned their respect.Believe in the Opportunity - Create a number that you will be able to hit to succeed. Look at your opportunities like a business and the revenue potential.Focus as a Business Person - You don't have a job but you have a business that you are creating. This is yours... own it!Shhhhhh - Create quiet around you and stop the noise. Take some time to clear your mind from everything. Reps often struggle with their thoughts.Ask for the Business - Find 5 ways to ask for the business and write them down. Have them linked to your stories and then ask.Love Them to Death - We might struggle with certain individuals but clear your head of negativity. Fall in love with your clients/prospects. Ask about them outside of the business.Be Sales Tough - There are so many normal issues. Stop complaining and be the A-rep because everyone understands what you are going through.Be Lucky - Don't be sad or frustrated when you are lucky. It is okay to not only be lucky but celebrate all victories!Be Thankful - Being the best will come from the help of so many people. Top success does not come alone. Be thankful to everyone... including clients.Give Back - How, when and what you want to do. Give back in your industry because there is space for everyone. What are sales absolutes that you would like to add or feel are crucial? Let us know so we can put them up on the podcast.Join our conversation:Mike@TheSellingPodcast.comScott@TheSellingPodcast.com

Brian Frank, manager of the Frank Value Fund -- who will stay in cash when he can't find stocks cheap enough to meet his metrics for good value -- says that the market's decline in early 2022 put a lot more stocks onto his radar as prospective buys, but he says the market remains expensive as a whole. In The Big Interview, Stan Majcher, portfolio manager at Hotchkis and Wiley Capital Management, says that the energy market -- the one sector of the market that was up during the first half of the year -- remains attractive after its recent run up and despite market pressures created by war in Ukraine and global supply-chain issues. He believes oil remains significantly underpriced, giving strong potential for the sector to keep rolling for the foreseeable future despite the likelihood of a global recession. Also on the show, Sarah Foster discusses a recent Bankrate.com survey showing that consumers who are influenced into purchases by social media have a high -- and increasing -- level of regrets over their spending decisions.

Are You Giving More than You Are Getting? That is the ultimate question we have to ask ourselves.Welcome back to ChiroPCP!  We are tackling the concept of "Absolute Value" or "Value Equity."  Yes, you could probably call this "Leverage," but we want a different term that doesn't carry a negative perception.  This comes from the concepts held within two books I have recently consumed.  The first is "7 Levels of Communication" and the second is "Go Giver."  Both of these books are critical to chiropractors both young and old.  Doctors who've been around the sun a few more times stand to benefit from a reinvigoration of your practice from the networking side.  Younger doctors will reap the benefits of ensuring they stay the course as they develop a great practice on a strong foundation.  Regardless, it's all about "Value Equity."Most people understand Equity, but if you need a quick refresher it is the difference between what you owe and what something is worth.  For example, if I owe $50,000 on my mortgage and the house is worth $550,000, then I have $500,000 in equity... YAY!  On the contrary if I owe $50,000 and the property is worth $5000, then I have -$45,000 in equity... BOO!Transition this to the doctor patient relationship and "Value Equity" can be understood as the difference between what a patient pays for your services and the value they feel they received.  Score a positive equity and you have the beginning of a good referral source.  Come out with no equity and things probably won't go very well.  Lose the equity battle and things will get ugly fast.Enjoy this podcast as it dives into the concept and sheds some light on specific strategies and approaches to consistently win the "Value Equity" game.Good Luck and #keepmovingDr.J

Aaron Freiwald, Managing Partner of Freiwald Law and host of the weekly podcast, Good Law | Bad Law, is joined by bestselling author, Emanuel (Manu) Rosen, to discuss his new book, If Anyone Calls, Tell Them I Died: A Memoir.   The Holocaust and its aftermath were not often discussed in families of second-generation survivors; in Tel Aviv in the 1960s, Emanuel Rosen grew up hearing the keys of his mother’s typewriter but had no idea about the battle she was fighting. In his latest book, If Anyone Calls, Tell Them I Died, Emanuel tells the story of his mother’s struggle but it’s a story that spans three generations. Emanuel tells the true story of grandparents, daughter, and grandson, and today, shares details of his family’s life journey with Aaron, a story filled with loss, guilt, lengthy court proceedings, secret letters, and love, while explaining the broader contexts of his book and how this incredible story is one that should serve as a stark reminder.   Emanuel is a bestselling author whose books have been translated into thirteen languages. He was born in Israel where he went to school, served in the army, and was an award-wining copywriter. After his graduate school education in the United States and a successful career as an executive in Silicon Valley, Emanuel turned to writing. His first book, The Anatomy of Buzz, was a national bestseller and his third book, Absolute Value (with Stanford professor Itamar Simsonson ), won the 2016 American Marketing Association Best Book Award.   Emanuel was previously vice president of marketing at Niles Software, where he launched the company’s flagship product, EndNote. Following on from episode 2 on why your "WHY" is so important, I delve into getting to know your audience in order to commercialise your passion. My 3 practical tips for market research will help you get to know your audience - preferably before you even think about starting your business. These are: 1. Find out if there is a market First consider some broad, basic questions. I recommend using Josh Kaufman's market research checklist from the Personal MBA you can access online here2. Blog about it first Experiment with content to start building an audience. I recommend reading Austin Kleon's book Show Your Work to understand more about how sharing what you're doing with the world will help you build an audience and iterate your work.  3. Know what results your audience value What results do your audience want that you can offer?A great book to read to understand the power of a audience + results-driven approach to marketing is Absolute Value by Itamar Simonson & Emanuel Rosen Also...I talk about building personas of your prospective customers that consider their mindset, drivers and motivators.

From the vales of Kra Land to the mountain peaks of Lotus Land, two horn players simulate the sounds of the airways that stretch in between. With cornet and pocket trumpet they create odd tunings of radio waves, the sound of angels bouncing off the stratosphere, and the noise of birds circling among the clouds. This generative performance will be streamed from Jan 16th-18th. Find the full stream for Luminiferous Noise Machine here: http://absolutevalueofnoise.ca/2017_luminiferous/index.html

Welcome to episode #402 of Six Pixels Of Separation - The Twist Image Podcast. Back in 2000 (yes, way back then), I read a book that made me rethink everything that I thought I knew about marketing. It was called, The Anatomy of Buzz, and it was written by Emanuel Rosen. Long before we were all talking about social media, viral videos, content marketing and more, Rosen was busy studying what makes people do the things that they do. You find a "best marketing books ever" list and not see The Anatomy of Buzz on it. Rosen, a former marketing professional, considers himself a writer, researcher, teacher and speaker. I'm fortunate because, over the years, Emanuel and I have become friends. In 2009, he looked again at what makes people talk about brands and wrote, The Anatomy of Buzz Revisited. Now, he's back with a fascinating business book called, Absolute Value (that he co-wrote with Itamar Simonson). It has been getting incredible reviews... and for good reason. In this book, Emanuel wonders about the value of brands, marketing and advertising in a world where information is everywhere, available in real-time and spin becomes, increasingly, more difficult from brands to pull off. Enjoy the conversation... Here it is: Six Pixels Of Separation - The Twist Image Podcast - Episode #402 - Host: Mitch Joel. Running time: 45:38.
