With the ability to go over 250MPH and make 5 second passes despite strict parity regulations, the NHRA Pro Modified drag racing series is possibly one of the most competitive in existence.Use ‘PODCAST75' for $75 off your first HPA course here: https://hpcdmy.co/hpa-tuned-inAt the last PRI trade show, we managed to catch Shane Tecklenburg once again to gain an insight into his exploits with the NHRA - E3 Spark Plugs Pro Mod Drag Racing Series via the Elite Motorsports/Modern Racing team. With 3 cars on track piloted by Erica Enders, Alex Laughlin and Steve Matusek the Pro Mod series was a new project after the teams' success in the Pro Stock series, but it didn't come without a steep learning curve given the heavy dependence on experience (guessing and checking) the Pro Mod drag racing regulations spur. Some of the differences between a turbocharged and supercharged car are discussed along with some of the processes the NHRA implements to ensure ECU's supplied by MoTeC and other companies do not give teams any technical advantage over one another in the form of traction or boost control of which there is a restriction that can be changed during a season in the interests of parity.

Alex Laughlin joins host Brian Lohnes to talk about the stunning news that he will be racing top fuel at Denver this weekend as part of the Dodge SRT Mile High Nationals. The move came in a pinch when sponsor requirements needed to be met and Laughlin was without his traditional pro modified car. Hooking up with Scott Palmer at the last minute and achieving his top fuel license at a small Kansas Drag Strip, it has been a whirlwind and one that he's happy to be on. With Palmer concentrating on tuning and Laughlin concentrating on driving, the car is definitely going to be a factor. Having had experience through the sportsman ranks, having won races in pro stock, and having gone 250mph in pro mod, this will be a momentous moment in his career. Lohnes talks about all things Denver and the other big news of the NHRA week as well!

We asked our listener community, “How did you learn where you come from?” What came back was a wide range of personal stories about how tricky it can be to access our heritage. From kids going to culture camp, to adoptees making journeys to their birth countries, to Asian Americans of all ages realizing that they’re inevitably going to lose a piece of themselves — we explore how we fit in with what came before us and figure out what comes next. We need your help! Please take this 1-minute survey, so we can have better conversations with partners and sponsors and keep this show growing. It’s fast, easy, and anonymous. What does it mean to be excluded from the American Dream? Two stories, set 100 years apart, explore this question from the perspective of immigrants who think they’ve made it in America, only to find out that their dream comes at a cost. "No Place Like Home" At the height of America’s Exclusion era, an Indian immigrant’s quest for prosperity ends in a tragic realization that being a “good immigrant” isn’t enough to escape the realities of racism. "Non-White Picket Fences" A fight over a homeless shelter in one of America’s most Asian cities reveals the choices that Americans face in seeking suburban paradise. Share your story and keep the conversation going! Do you have a story about feeling excluded from the “American Dream”? Where or when in your life have you felt most like you belonged?
