Jeff Leak has been the Lead Pastor of Allison Park Church for thirty-two years. Allison Park Church is a multi-campus church in the Pittsburgh, PA region. They have also launched a network which has helped to plant 32 new churches across the world.
All six campuses of Allison Park Church converged at our Hampton Campus for an evening of powerful worship, prayer, and a message from Pastor Jeff Leake. Jeff discussed the authority that each of us has been given from Jesus, and how we can begin to walk in it.

Melodie Leake has served in ministry alongside her husband, Jeff, at Allison Park Church for more than two decades. She has been actively involved in many roles at Allison Park Church, including serving as an Interim Campus Pastor, director of Sisterhood and as the Campus Liaison Pastor. Her passion is to see women set free from past pain and released to be all that God has called them to be. She and Jeff have five children (four who are married to amazing spouses) and five grandchildren. They reside in Allison Park, PA.
Early in his ministry, Jeff Leake faced a problem common to growing churches: He needed a new larger building but didn't have enough money. So he prayed, “God, we have a problem, and it seems that You are not offering any solutions here!” The thing about talking to God is that He talks back, and Leake felt God saying this to him: “Have you considered that I have a problem too?” God's problem, it turned out, was that too many pastors were interested in growing their churches and too few interested in reaching their cities. That encounter with God took Leake on a church-planting journey. In Twelve Trends in Church Multiplication, he talks about different ways local churches can reproduce themselves in new congregations. I'll be talking to him about this book in this episode of the Influence Podcast. I'm George P. Wood, executive editor of Influence magazine and your host. Jeff Leake is lead pastor of Allison Park Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which has seven campuses and has planted 31 new churches. ----- This episode of the Influence Podcast is brought to you by My Healthy Church, distributors of Bible Engagement Project. Most people have access to the Bible, but few regularly engage with it. Bible Engagement Project equips churches with digital Bible study resources to help people of all ages read and understand Scripture so they can become more like Jesus and live radically changed lives. In this final episode of the Faithful + True series, Mandie talks with Kelli Brownlee, a mom, wife, worship leader and pastor, who shares about God's goodness throughout a season of change and loss. Hardship is not always an indicator of God’s displeasure. Often, God entrusts his people with suffering. When we walk through the valley with Him, we grow stronger and realize that He is who He says He is, Faithful and True. If you need to be reminded that you have a Good Father who sees you and provides in every season, join us for this conversation. Pastor Kelli has some wise and encouraging words for us all. Kelli traveled for 10+ years as a background vocalist for several Gospel artists. She's appeared on the Dove Awards , BET Celebration of the Gospel, and an episode of the TV sitcom, Mike and Molly. Kelli serves as a campus pastor and worship leader at Allison Park Church in Pittsburgh, PA. She also oversees student development at Allison Park Leadership Academy. Kelli is married to her husband Ben, who is a musician and graphic designer. Together, they have three beautiful children. You can connect with Kelli on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/kbthebrave/ We hope this conversation meets you where you are, encourages you to live brave, and better equips you to lead and love the next generation well. Hey Daring 2 Believe Family! You are going to absolutely fall in love with Ms. Debbie Lynch if you haven't already! She is warm, loving, and accepting of EVERYONE! I mean everyone! She makes you feel like you are family! The story she felt lead to share is about being single for most of her life. So much gold in her story for ANYONE to hear! Listen y'all, people and things don't complete us. So who is Ms. Debbie? Well... keep reading below. She's shared a bit about herself. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh. At age 20 I married a man who was in the Air Force and we lived in several US cities, and in Germany. At age 37, I was divorced and raised my two daughters as a single parent. They are now married and blessed me with 5 grandchildren, ranging from 16 years to 2 months, 3 boys and 2 girls. I've worked most of my life and currently am one of the staff pastors of Allison Park Church, serving in the Pastoral Care area. I love to meet people, encourage them, and to serve as best as I can. Currently, I mentor a group of young women and also lead a group of older adults. My grandchildren are the loves of my life, I also enjoy traveling, hiking, biking, and anything that I physically can do. I am always up for an adventure. My favorite place to visit is Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The beauty of God's creation is breathtaking. It's where my soul catches up with my body.
Okay Daring 2 Believe Fam... Sarah gets real in her story and unpacks some things that we as a society shy away from talking and that is SINGLENESS. I love this girl's heart! I know her story will speak to any one of you whether you are single or not. I learned so much by just listening to her. Sarah loves Jesus with all her heart. She is a part time explorer, full time coffee-enthusiast, and likes to draw cartoons on the side. Her real job is a crazy honor - serving as a children's pastor at Allison Park Church. She often dreams of the middle east, long walks in bookstores, and her next great AirBnB adventure.
Daring2Believe Family- you will love hearing Dayna's story and learning more about this free spirit who has a tender heart for girls caught in human trafficking. She is on a mission to build a safe space for them by using what is in her hands to reach others for Christ. Hey! My name is Dayna Azevedo and I'm 28 years old. I'm originally from sunny California and moved to Pittsburgh about 4 years ago to work at Allison Park Church as their media coordinator. I just finished my year at NMS, and will be moving to Scotland UK to work with Global Family. Missions is my heart; I've been blessed to have built 5 churches in Bolivia South America, 1 school in West Bengal, India, start a house church in Cuba - and have been working with victims of human trafficking in India for the past 3 years. To sum me up, I love Jesus, missions, and food!
A New Set of Blueprints — Jeff Leake of Allison Park Church Some people think that multiplication is just the “new hotness” for people who plant. But the reality is that established churches can plant just as well, if not better, than newer churches. Sometimes, becoming a multiplying church is simply a matter of focus. For Jeff Leake of Allison Park Church in Pennsylvania, his focus couldn't have been more different. When he took the pastorate there after the church had been through a rough time, he was focused on merely surviving, and not getting too crunched in the process. Church growth would have been nice, but he wasn't counting on it. But, the church slowly did begin to grow, and when they hit a space capacity issue that turned into a dead end, Jeff began to seek God like never before. Out of this “sink or swim” mentality, God began to share his heart with Jeff, and focus his vision on something completely different. You could say that the story of Allison Park Church in Pennsylvania is a story of God interrupting a leader's plans, and giving him a new set of blueprints. Today, Allison Park Church is focused more on its “grand-daughter churches” than its “daughter” churches. The church even has some great-grandchildren because it has multiplied out 31 times in the last 24 years. This episode's topics include: How God uses desperation in a leader's life Creating a multiplication culture within your church Modeling multiplication for the next generation How to deal with the pain when those you send seem ungrateful and hurt you How to know when your vision for your church is “too small” Tune into this Exponential Reproducing Churches Podcast as Jeff Leake helps refocus our vision to what God is doing, and possibly wants to do in your city.

Is it possible to sing on big stages with legendary artists like The Clark Sisters - yet have equal respect for the work that very few people will see?Worship leader, minister, vocalist and author Kelli Kinney Brownlee would say the answer is yes - and she has proven it by navigating her roles as a background vocalist and a leader in ministry with equal passion and dedication.Starting from her early days growing up in a small town in West Virginia, the priority of ministry and authentic worship was ingrained in Kelli through her experiences as a young vocalist and worship leader, but she didn't see the full potential of her gift until a stop in Detroit altered the course of her life. Having spent years as a professional background vocalist with Dorinda Clark-Cole, Deitrick Haddon, Shana Wilson, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, and countless other artists in the gospel music circle, she has seen what it takes to remain a trusted and respected part of an industry-leading musical team that demands excellence. However, her heart for ministry was not crowded out by her inclusion in these tight-knit communities of Grammy and Stellar winning artists - instead, she finds just as much fulfillment and joy using her gifts to equip and encourage those she was called to serve at the local level. In this heart-felt and eye-opening interview, Kelli reveals: The foundational characteristics of ministry she learned from her small-town beginningsHow her original plan to move to LA was redirected and led her to meeting and working with Dorinda Clark-Cole Her experiences with singing with the Clark Sisters and how the relationship between artist and background vocalist develops. The importance of knowing your role as a support for the artist - especially in practicing discretion and exercising professionalismWhy being on stage can't be the only place where your gifts in ministry are used. How she intentionally prioritizes her family and ministry responsibilitiesHow being a background singer can sometimes become a crutch under which you can hide your other gifts. Quotables from KelliI never want to lead from my gifts. I want to lead from my relationship with God. From our being, comes our doing. Not the other way around. He didn't give me a gift because he loves me. He loves me, and the gifts just come naturally. It doesn't make any sense to be leading other people well and not leading well in my own home. Alcohol has been a hot button topic in American Christianity for a long time. Is drinking ok for Christians? What about Pastors or ministry leaders? If we drink are we putting ourselves at risk? If we don't drink are we alienating non-christians simply out of religious tradition? In this episode we discuss all of these questions and more! Listen and let us know what you think!

Favorite quotes from the episode: "If I did this would I look like one of the disciples that followed Jesus and was willing to give their lives and reach the entire world for Christ." "Then you have Matthew, who has those parties. He invites Jesus because he knows Jesus will be great at a party with lost people." "Jesus talked less than I expected and ask more questions." Dr. Daniel McNaughton is serving as professor of practical ministries and Old Testament in Southeastern University’s Barnett College of Ministry & Theology in 2016. Before going to SEU, he served in executive pastor roles at Christian Life Assembly in Camp Hill, PA (2015–2016) and Allison Park Church in Pittsburgh, PA (2011–2012). He also serves as a consultant and coach for Learning to Follow Ministries (2009–present), helping leaders throughout the Northeast Region develop healthy, empowering, and multiplying churches. He was the founder and lead pastor of Spring Valley Community Church in Royersford, Pennsylvania, where he served for 6 years (2005–2011).
