Send us Fan MailAI is finally in everyone's hands, and that's exactly why it's getting risky. Grant McGaugh sits down with veteran tech leader Darrell T. Black (CIO, CTO, CDO) to discuss what it really takes to bring AI into a business without compromising trust, compliance, or the back office. We get into the difference between experimenting with a chatbot and deploying AI inside the systems that run payroll, HR, finance, and customer data.Darrell shares a grounded view of AI readiness: understand your current processes, map the real workflow (not the version on paper), define the future state, then conduct a gap and impact analysis before you automate anything. We also unpack why AI hallucinations matter, how probabilistic AI differs from deterministic technology, and why “it sounds good” is not the same as “it's accurate.” If you're thinking about agentic AI, this is where the conversation gets practical about audit trails, human oversight, and governance that can scale. We also tackle the bigger societal layer: bias in algorithms, safeguards in hiring and healthcare, and why policy often sets the tone for enterprise behavior. And Darrell leaves us with a simple warning you'll remember: you might think you're adopting an AI puppy, but you're responsible for the full-grown AI dog. If you're a founder, operator, or IT leader trying to use AI to scale responsibly, this one is for you.Subscribe for more conversations like this, share the episode with a friend building with AI, and leave a review with the biggest AI risk you want us to tackle next. Thanks for tuning in to this episode of Follow The Brand! We live as the inner experiencer of both sensory reality and internally created thoughts and emotions. Inner suffering comes not from the world itself but from our resistance to experiences. By clinging to what we like and resisting what we dislike, we create desires and fears that shape the ego and distort how we perceive reality. Spiritual growth comes through learning to relax through difficult experiences, letting emotional energy pass instead of suppressing it, and gradually becoming capable of handling life without dependence on external conditions. Only then can we be free enough to act from love rather than self-interest and raise the energy around us. © Sounds True Inc. Episodes: © 2026 Michael A. Singer. All Rights Reserved.

War doesn't end when the photograph is taken. For many people, that's where the story begins. In Part 2 of this special two-part conversation, I once again sit down with Ukrainian photojournalists Oksana Parafeniuk and Iva Sidash. While Part 1 focused on home, and their personal journeys in photography, this second conversation moves deeper into the lasting impact of war on individuals, families, and communities. Together, we talk about what happens long after the headlines fade and the cameras move on. We explore the emotional weight of documenting difficult stories, the experiences of children growing up during war, and the responsibility of telling stories that continue long after a photograph has been made. Along the way, there are also moments of hope, humor, and humanity that remind us why these stories matter in the first place. Grab a coffee, settle in, and enjoy Part 2 of my wonderful conversation with Oksana Parafeniuk and Iva Sidash.

For most photojournalists, war is something they travel to. For others, it's the reality of the place they call home.  In Part 1 of this special two-part conversation, I sit down with Ukrainian photojournalists Oksana Parafeniuk and Iva Sidash. Iva was on our show in 2023, one year after the Russian invasion, but since then her photography journey has taken her further, studying at the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York. Oksana, meanwhile, has gone from being a fixer to becoming both a mother and an internationally published photographer in just a few years. Together, we talk about what it means to photograph the country you grew up in while living through many of the same realities yourself on a daily basis. We talk about finding their way into photography, the importance of home, and how war can shape both the stories in front of the camera and the people behind it. Next week, we continue the conversation with a deeper look at the realities of war, its impact on children and families, and the emotional cost of documenting it.  Grab a coffee, settle in, and enjoy Part 1 of my conversation with Oksana Parafeniuk and Iva Sidash.  *****

Was Kouri Richins Faking Grief Or Actually Living Inside It?

She wrote a children's book about grief. Went on television to promote it. Talked about helping her boys cope with their dad's "unexpected" death. Fourteen months of a constructed identity that fooled every friend who testified at trial. The whole time, she was the reason those children were grieving. The behavioral question isn't whether Kouri Richins was faking. It's whether she was faking at all. The psychology at work here doesn't perform lies the way most people understand deception. It migrates into them. Moves in. Furnishes the new reality. Lives there. In the room where she's a grieving mother writing a book to help her children, the grief functions as real. The room where she put fentanyl in a cocktail exists somewhere else in her mind. She's not visiting it. That compartmentalization is what made her convincing for fourteen months — and it's what makes this case a study in a specific type of psychology forensic professionals have documented but rarely see executed at this scale. The 911 call. The party the next day. Google searches for luxury prisons and insurance timelines. The television appearances. Friends who testified at trial that they never doubted her. Every one of them was operating inside the reality she'd constructed — because she was living there too. Before the cover-up came the crime itself. The Valentine's Day attempt that Eric survived — gasping for air, reaching for his son's EpiPen. Then seventeen days of sleeping in the same house, parenting the same children, and arriving at a second plan with five times the lethal dose. The psychological wiring that allows someone to fail at the unthinkable and respond with a refined plan instead of horror follows a specific escalation pattern. Approximately $4.5 million in debt. An affair that was a rehearsal for her next life. Insurance manipulation that got caught and didn't slow her down. Eric stopped being a person and became a math problem with a financial answer. That transition is identifiable in the evidence — and it's the foundation everything else was built on.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Fourteen months between Eric Richins' death and Kouri's arrest. During that window, she closed a real estate deal the day after finding him dead, hosted a gathering at the home where EMTs had pronounced him, Googled luxury prisons and insurance timelines, published a children's grief book, and went on television to promote it.Most analysis focuses on whether the grief was real or performed. This episode argues the answer is both — simultaneously — in different compartments of a psychology that doesn't process deception the way most people understand it. The lie isn't a mask held in place with effort. It's a migration. The person moves into the new version of events and inhabits it. And in that version, the grief is genuine. The second installment of a five-part psychological series examining every phase of Kouri Richins' decision-making. The 911 call, the Google searches, the book, the TV tour — and a brain that can produce sincere tenderness for children it orphaned.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Had an AHA or Insight? Share it:Tarkan Salar on Living Inside an Unfinished TransformationTarkan Salar did not lose his business. He dismantled it. Deliberately, painfully, over eighteen months, canceling contracts, unwinding supplier relationships, letting go of nearly 2,000 employees, absorbing millions in losses, all while his marriage fell apart, his father died, and the people closest to him told him he was making a mistake. He had built a $50Mill dollar fashion company supplying H&M and major European retailers. Family members were on payroll. His identity, his relationships, his entire world was wrapped inside that company. He walked away from all of it because he could not do it anymore. He had no plan. He had a one-way ticket to Bali and left it all behind. The hustle part is done. What has not arrived yet is everything else. The people he thought were friends turned away the moment he stopped being useful. The family members he had carried for years are still angry. And Tarkan is in what he calls the void, no identity, no clear purpose, no confirmation that any of it is going to lead somewhere worth going. The next chapter is not here. He is living in the gap.In this conversation, Tarkan shares what it looks like to be inside that gap right now. The Sufism framework that helps him make sense of why everything was taken away. The 5am Club audiobook that cracked something open in Bali. The 12,000 hours of self-development that have compounded into something he is still learning how to bring into the world. And the honest admission that he does not know what comes next.Beate brings her own rawness to this one. Pastor Bryan Wolfmueller returns to Lead Time for a conversation that begins with the Prodigal Son… and ends up exposing something much closer to home. Most Christians know the story of the younger son who runs away, wastes everything, and comes home in shame. But what if Jesus' sharpest warning is actually aimed at the older brother — the faithful, obedient, religious one who cannot rejoice when mercy is given to someone else?Check out Bryan's New Book Here:https://www.amazon.com/Finally-Free-Bryan-Wolfmueller/dp/0758681569In this episode, Tim Ahlman, Jack Kalleberg, and Bryan Wolfmueller dig into pride, despair, passive faith, Lutheran worship, church systems, contemporary vs. liturgical tensions, and what the LCMS can learn from the Father's joy. This is a conversation for every Lutheran who cares about doctrine, mission, worship, and the future of the church — especially if you've ever wondered whether we are better at defending the feast than actually rejoicing in it.Support the show⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️Care about the future of the LCMS?Join the LCMS Current! Language hums along in the background, ancient and confident, telling you it knows the shape of the world. But the world keeps moving, restless and unmapped, and the old words calcify into monuments nobody remembers building. The result is that physics, democracy, and the world at large suffer stagnation. Professor Elan Barenholtz and the DemystifySci duo wade into the drift, tracing how civilizations lose their minds one redefined word at a time, and what it takes to reground thought in a reality that won't hold still. The territory changed, and now we have to find new words to follow it home.Part 1: https://youtu.be/urq7fQ_LyB0PATREON https://www.patreon.com/c/demystifysciPARADOX LOST PRE-SALE: https://buy.stripe.com/7sY7sKdoN5d29eUdYddEs0bHOMEBREW MUSIC - Check out our new album!Hard Copies (Vinyl): FREE SHIPPING https://demystifysci-shop.fourthwall.com/products/vinyl-lp-secretary-of-nature-everything-is-so-good-hereStreaming:https://secretaryofnature.bandcamp.com/album/everything-is-so-good-herePARADIGM DRIFThttps://demystifysci.com/paradigm-drift-show00:00 Go! Living Inside the Fourth Wall: Space, Colour and Care with Eddie Peake

Extraordinary Creatives

Before we begin, a gentle note: in this episode we speak about death, grief, psychosis and depression. If you're feeling tender, you might want to pause and come back when the time feels right. It will be worth it. Today, I am joined by the extraordinary artist Eddie Peake. Eddie builds exhibitions the way some artists use paint. Space, for him, is a material. He constructs environments that place you inside the liminal fourth wall, that charged threshold between viewer and viewed, between participation and observation, between ecstasy and horror. In his shows, the audience becomes a protagonist. We talk about masculinity stretched to breaking point, about desire and shame, about the theatre of intimacy and the politics shaping our cultural moment. Eddie pushes back on what the art world calls authenticity, questioning whether expression itself has become a learned, conservative language dressed up as radical. In an age of populist politics and market-ready aesthetics, he asks what it really means to resist. If you're an artist wrestling with identity, politics, envy, burnout, or the fear that your work is either too much or not enough, this conversation will resonate. I hope it moves you as much as it moved me. KEY TAKEAWAYS   ·      The fourth wall isn't just a boundary; it's a live material. Treating space as something you can sculpt, like Eddie does, lets the viewer become a character inside the work, not a distant observer. ·      Fluorescent colour can carry psychic weight. What looks euphoric on the surface can also signal overload, instability, and states of mind that don't sit neatly in polite language.   BEST MOMENTS   “This is your reminder that creative life is not linear. There are seasons of immersion and seasons of withdrawal” “I really believe it's important to take Our time and not to feel a sort of outside pressure to be moving at 7000 million miles per hour at all times.”   RESOURCES https://www.instagram.com/eddie_peake   HOST BIO With over 35 years in the art world, Ceri has worked closely with leading artists and arts professionals, managed public and private galleries and charities, and curated more than 250 exhibitions and events. Following God often means crossing lines we've never crossed and facing challenges we've never faced. In the book of Joshua, God leads his people from promise into possession, calling them to trust him completely and obey him faithfully. This story walks through moments of bold faith, costly obedience, unexpected setbacks, and decisive victories, revealing what it truly means to be strong and courageous. As we study Joshua together, we'll discover that courage isn't found in our own strength, but in the unchanging faithfulness of God — the God who keeps his promises, goes before his people, and invites us to follow wherever he leads.

Divorce doesn't create just one version of you.It creates many. One moment you're grieving. The next you're furious. Then suddenly you're nostalgic for a relationship that hurt you. Then you're trying to pull yourself together and be the strong one. Many women think this means something is wrong with them.It doesn't.It means your nervous system is trying to process a profound emotional rupture.Because inside divorce, there are often multiple emotional states competing for the steering wheel. It can feel like several different versions of you are living inside the same body — each holding a different piece of the grief, the anger, the longing, or the shock. In this premium episode of Dear Divorce Diary, Dawn explores the 10 emotional archetypes that commonly emerge during divorce — the inner “women” many divorced women cycle through as their nervous system processes loss, betrayal, identity change, and healing. As you listen, you may recognize one immediately.Or you may realize you've been moving between several of them. This episode also shares the deeper story behind the Destined Divorce Recovery Blend — a remedy formula created specifically for the layered emotional states women often experience during divorce recovery.Because divorce doesn't just break a relationship. It often activates every unresolved emotional layer in the body at once.Understanding those layers is where healing begins. And chances are… while listening to this episode, you'll recognize one of these women inside yourself.Maybe even more than one.Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MyCoachDawnInstagram: (@dawnwiggins)Instagram: (@coachtiffini)On the Web: https://www.mycoachdawn.comA podcast exploring the journey of life after divorce, delving into topics like divorce grief, loneliness, anxiety, manifesting, the impact of different attachment styles and codependency, setting healthy boundaries, energy healing with homeopathy, managing the nervous system during divorce depression, understanding the stages of divorce grief, and using the Law of Attraction and EMDR therapy in the process of building your confidence, forgiveness and letting go.Support the show✨Join the Cocoon Community - your people are waiting! ✨

In this episode, Britten LaRue is joined by artist, astrologer, and mom extraordinaire, Janessa Quinn, for an intimate and revealing conversation about what it's like to live inside the active moment of political crisis in Minnesota. Janessa shares firsthand experiences of community response to ICE activity, the emergence of underground networks of care, and the psychological and logistical realities of daily life under what many are calling an occupation. Together, they reflect on astrology as a contextual anchor and explore what it means to stop asking systems to save us and instead build something new through relationship, proximity, and care.   Topics They Cover: Janessa's personal and geographic context: growing up between South Florida and Minnesota, and how Minnesota's rule-following culture shapes both resistance and collective response How the murder of George Floyd marked a turning point that seeded long-term mutual aid, underground care networks, and community organizing that are now being reactivated What daily life looks like inside the current situation in Minnesota: hypervigilance, checking maps, encrypted group chats, anonymous coordination, and the emotional toll of living in multiple realities at once Parenting through crisis: how Janessa talks with her children about ICE, safety, kidnapping, and the presence of helpers without sugarcoating what's happening The concept of occupation: why that word fits, how it feels psychologically and physically, and how it echoes historical moments of wartime normalization The role of local businesses, neighbors, and mutual aid becoming acts of resistance Astrology as both a witness and compass: Pluto in Aquarius, Jupiter in Cancer, the Aries Point, and the tension between urgency, force, love, and long-term capacity-building Capacity building and self-care as survival skills: tending energy, restoring capacity, and preparing for what may continue or spread beyond Minnesota About Janessa Quinn: Janessa Quinn is an artist, astrologer, and mom extraordinaire located in Minnesota. As a tender of flame and keeper of hearth, she is here to inspire and encourage others to liberate themselves by remembering their fire within. It's a meditation on paradox: ✨ gratitude and grief ✨ hope and fear ✨ control and surrender ✨ survival and freedom Drawing from lived experience as a patient, clinician, and founder of EASE OS™, this episode explores why healing is not linear, why fixing yourself often perpetuates suffering, and why true wholeness comes from integration — not answers. The Hidden Cost of the "Perfect" Journey (and how to avoid it) / Kendra Shimmell / Ep. #244

Sorry, but I have to say it...We are optimizing our way to boredom.Measure everything, test every variation, and optimize the customer journey until it's "perfect". That seems to be the mantra of modern business today. But in this first episode of 2026, our guest Kendra Shimmell throws a big wrench in this machinery.Kendra argues that while things like A/B testing validate what works right now, they often come at a steep cost. Because if we rely solely on reacting to quantitative data to make small, incremental improvements, we eventually, you guessed it, optimize our way to mediocrity and boredom. We lose the soul in our services.Kendra shares a painful example of this phenomenon in action: social media algorithms. You click on a cool backpack once, and the system thinks it has you figured out. Suddenly, your entire feed is just backpacks. A lot of backpacks. The algorithm is "optimized," sure. But it has stripped away all the serendipity, turning a place of discovery into a repetitive, boring experience. As Kendra put it, just because you can keep a user clicking doesn't mean you aren't exhausting them. So, the question is: Why do organizations default to this? Why are we so focused on squeezing out efficiency rather than exploring new avenues? When I asked Kendra, her answer was blunt: "Greed, Fear, and Confusion." Ouch. The greed to squeeze out the last 1% of revenue. The fear that if they try something new, they won't find product-market fit again. And the confusion that comes from ignoring the fact that humans are wildly irrational beings driven by feelings, not spreadsheets. This conversation is a wake-up call to stop treating our customers like subjects in a scientific experiment and start treating them as people to co-create with. And if your organization isn't ready to hear that? Well, Kendra has some advice on how to be a little "sneaky" to get the work done anyway! The conversation ends with a question that pairs perfectly with a long walk, somewhere where you can let a little serendipity back into your day: "When, where, and how is it most important to be human?".Happy New Year and keep making a positive impact!Be well, ~ Marc--- [ 1.
