As Graham recovers from jet lag after his first bit of travel in ages, Alex sees an opportunity to convince him of the existence of a rather 'unusual' application element at a leading school. Meanwhile, our hosts talk about the flurry of releases of essay topics and make one last pitch for this Wednesday's Clear Admit Essay Insight event (sign up here: https://bit.ly/clearadmitessayinsight). In terms of candidates reviewed, this week's show covers several critical issues including: Can a great candidate make the cut at top schools with a 650 on the GMAT? Does a candidate with interest in banking, consulting, and private equity need a bit more focus? And finally, how does a relocation due to visa issues work for or against a candidate? Tune in for answers to these questions and more! This episode was recorded in Philadelphia, PA and Cornwall, England. It was produced by Dennis Crowley. Please remember to rate and review the show wherever you listen, and to tell a friend to tune in as well.
Get a Customised CRM with Pieter K de Villiers of Macanta CRM Getting a customised CRM (customer relationship management system) sounds ideal for many businesses. Especially if you are quite small and wish to avoid the feature creep of larger branded CRMs. Here you build your customised CRM just as you want it. Mecanta CRM is a no code platform that allows businesses to develop their own customised CRM around their business process automation. All without hiring expensive developers! No Code If you think about building websites, as an analogy. When you build websites, you can use something like Wix, which is drag and drop, user templates, but you don't have to know how to write HTML code or CSS or anything to create the website. Mecanta CRM does exactly the same for business process automation and customised CRM. You build your own interface, task management, and the alerts that your business needs. All without needing to know how to write code, but essentially build a custom piece of software in the process. For those of you who have come across Elegant Theme's Divi Wordpress Theme, it is similar to Mecanta CRM. In the back of Divi you are writing code, but with a graphical user interface. http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Macanta-Evolves-With-You.mp4 Whatever System You Want You can choose to either do it yourself or a guided set up. If you opt for 'Guided' you'll be invited to explain whether your system is for B2B or B2C. After the diagnostic initial questions you start with a template. The big advantage is you are not pouring concrete. So, if the system is not quite how you'd like it, it's easy to add a field. If you have faced having to change the system you use, because you've outgrown it or your processes are different, the advantage with Mecanta is you can adapt your system day to day. As Graham says about some CRM systems: I haven't got the time in the rest of my life to learn how to use the CRM Examples of How Mecanta is Used http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Macanta-without-coding.mp4 The approach Mecanta takes is automating as much of the business, rather than the marketing of the business. They do have automated email and SMS, but it is all driven around managing the business processes. Rather than generating the leads. Is there an 80:20 rule for CRM features? Most features will be unused by the majority. To get more information on their features, go to: https://mecantacrm.com They supply mainly English speaking nations - UK, South Africa, Australia, USA and Canada. A Career Customising Other Systems Lead to Mecanta Pieter has spent years customising systems like Infusionsoft so they delivered against client business processes, that eventually him and his co-founding partner developed Mecanta. Another way to put Mecanta's strengths is like describing it as your cheapest and most reliable employee. Once configured, it'll do things every time. No holidays, sickness etc. Can you automate processes that expensive people are doing? A New CRM Everyday In his 20s, Graham worked for Lego UK, then based in Wrexham Wales. Such was the focus on protecting the brand, to prevent it from becoming a generic phrase, like Hoover became. Lego insisted that in written communications, the word was capitalised LEGO, and that in parlance, you didn't play LEGO, you played with LEGO bricks. Their streamline at the time was It's a New Toy Everyday. Which Mecanta is essentially similar in this respect. http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Macanta-just-add-a-field-not-a-new-CRM.mp4 Summary Mecanta is a system that properly automates as much of your business as possible. It avoids the cancer of 2 minute tasks. Mecanta can be developed incrementally. An employee that you can keep giving more work to. OFFER: Mecanta CRM is free for life for the first user. As Graham battles a case of near-laryngitis, Alex decides to put him on the spot about his 'other life'. Meanwhile, Graham marvels at the coincidental CPG-Canada-Tech connections across this week's WireTaps candidates. As always, the duo work in some key MBA admissions lessons, such as how first generation Asian-Americans (and Asian-Canadians) are viewed in the applicant pool, whether or not there is grade inflation in Canada, and how a candidate who loves London (and London Business School) should weigh offers from Booth, MIT, Yale, and LBS...given the target of McKinsey/Bain/BCG (short-term) and a tech job (long-term). Big thanks to Dennis Crowley for his expert production. Please remember to rate and review this podcast, and to tell your friends to tune in!
This week we dive into Season 1, Episode 5: That Still Small Voice. As Graham makes Emma a deputy, a mysterious sinkhole appears at the edge of town and Henry's life is placed in danger, while flashbacks show Jiminy Cricket's yearning to leave the family business. Tune in as we insult Jiminy Cricket's lack of ethics, Mads has strong words about Emma's coat, and the sound of crickets.
From helping out on a charity appeal to dominating late night music radio for generations. In this hour of Radio Moments – Conversations, Graham Torrington tells how his early love for radio led to his arrival at BRMB to help with the annual Walkathon. Graduating quickly from occasional shows to daytime contemporary radio, he quickly made his mark before the potential of a late-night love songs programme was unleashed. Pushed aside from the station he loved, he moved to the challenged Buzz FM and then onto help launch Kix 96 as Programme Controller. Graham tells of the call which led then to his appointment at GWR and how his reputation grew as the company expanded to dominate numerous UK markets - to the annoyance of some. Graham tells of the evolution of Late Night Love, the genuine value he feels it brought to listeners and the art of getting the stories from them. As another takeover ended his spell with that group, he talks of life at the BBC and how he once again created late night magic of a more comforting flavour. As Graham retires from UK radio – for now at least – he tells too the things he never mentioned on air about his own life. What are his stories? This is Graham Torrington – in his own words – alone. With this month being Fire Prevention Month, the Haverhill Firefighting Museum is issuing a new Home Fire Safety Activity Packet to help families learn important lessons. The museum's Cindy Graham and Maria Fontaine were recent guests on WHAV's morning program. Graham says the idea for the fire safety activity packet came about because the museum, at 75 Kenoza Ave., is closed for the season due to COVID-19. As Graham explains, the packet includes 10 tips for fire safety, a smoke alarm safety sheet and other suggestions.“You should have an escape plan and a meeting place. A fire safety maze like practicing getting to your meeting place and then, very importantly, we teach this at the museum, in our Hero's Headquarters, when you do call 911, what you should know and why you should call like the reasons you might call 911. You can also practice on a pretend keypad and then we have a little activity page where they would cut out emergencies, like a fire, big or small. Should you call, yes or no? Then they would paste it in the appropriate area,” she said.Fontaine said the packet is downloadable from HaverhillFirefightingMuseum.org and print versions may also be requested there.“We wanted it to be available to both teachers and parents because it's something that they could utilize in a school setting. It's something the kids can do the activities on their own if they're a little bit older, but it also makes a great conversation between parents and kids and it's an easy way to talk about a difficult subject,” Fontaine said. The Fire Safety Activity Packet is designed for children ages from kindergarten to the sixth grade.Support the show (https://whav.net/become-a-whav-member/)
Voiceover/Audiobook artist Graham Mack, based in London, details how he created a successful audiobook recording business and started a band that supports charities. Graham's candid interview will show how determination to design your life the way you desire creates the attitude of not letting anyone stop you. As Graham says, "You may slow me down, but you won't stop me."
Hear how to transform yourself, your work, and our global challenges. In this podcast, Graham Boyd and I talk about his passion for helping people see things in new ways. He asks big questions, like, Why is climate change not changing us and why aren’t we addressing it? Why has the coronavirus immobilized some countries and their leadership, particularly the U.S., when China knew what to do from its earlier experience with SARS1 and could have shown others how to respond quickly and effectively? What is it about us humans that keeps us from seeing ourselves in healthy ways so we can help each other thrive? Listen in! What if we could create an economy that works for the planet, for people, and for profit? As Graham puts it so eloquently on his website, "We can rise, phoenix-like, from today’s burning global challenges. All of us, and our children, can thrive in the coming decades, because we can build a regenerative global economy: an ecosystem of regenerative businesses." Applying the expertise he has gathered across three careers (particle physicist, manager with Procter and Gamble, and serial startup founder), Graham is currently focused on bringing to reality his vision of helping improve people's lives. To help get out the message that there is a new way to build businesses and an economy that truly works for all people, Graham and co-author Jack Reardon have written a new book, "Picasso and Einstein: the Economy, Leadership and You," which you can read part of here. About Graham Boyd, PhD: CEO & Founder, Evolutesix A CEO, serial entrepreneur, particle physicist, disruptive innovator, author and speaker, Graham Boyd's passion is making a difference in the world by incubating and investing in adaptive, self-organizing, developmental, FairShares Commons companies. He recently transformed an international non-profit into three for-profits, and is now starting a seed-stage investment fund for ecosystems of regenerative startups. He also consults to multi-nationals and startups on harnessing conflict to drive their own regeneration. During his career, he has worked in the UK, China, Germany, Belgium, Japan, South Africa and Italy. Born in a small town in Zimbabwe, Graham grew up as a white teenager in apartheid South Africa during the 1970s and 80s. He now says that his experiences during those years developed his belief that freedom is the strongest foundation we can build on, that we can be fully unique and together as one, and that hidden options can be found to resolve highly complex, nebulous and high-stakes challenges. Graham recently gave an online talk to the RSA on creating an economy fit for a crisis, which you can watch here. You can contact Graham via Twitter, LinkedIn or his website graham-boyd.biz. @brandoncrobb was able to sit down with @grahamdoody, Co-Owner and Head Coach of @forgedbyfirecrossfit in Edmonton, AB. Graham is a former firefighter, but has spent nearly his entire adult life working with athletes of all kinds. This week we spoke about programming for athletes vs general population clients, as well as what it took to make the switch from being a coach to owning a gym. As Graham outlines, this has been one of the best decisions he ever made - leaving a stable career to open a gym - but the leap DID come with some massive responsibilities. Graham was fully aware of these prior to going in, something that unfortunately not all gym owners are aware of.Ultimately, there is no one clear path to building a career in the fitness industry, but rather connecting your passion for helping others with the lifestyle you want to live. This week we spoke all about what its like to build a career in the fitness industry.Enjoy ✌️ #EvolveRadio #EvolveStrength

Lester Graham is a journalist at Michigan Radio, where he hosts “The Environment Report” and the news magazine “Stateside.” Tammy Coxen is the host of Tammy’s Tastings, a series of food and drink tastings, classes and experiences in Ann Arbor. The two friends been doing a segment on cocktails on Michigan Radio called “Cheers!” for more than three years. Now, they’ve got a new book based on that series. It’s called “Cheers to Michigan: A Celebration of Cocktail Culture and Craft Distillers.” As Graham and Coxen explain in today’s episode, the book is part recipes, a little how-to and a lot of Michigan history stirred in the shaker. It covers everything from Detroit’s outsize role in bootlegging during Prohibition to the city’s invention of three famous cocktails, and the current boom in craft cocktails and craft distilleries. The Dutchman Robbert Dijkgraaf is a rarity – not only is he a top-class mathematical physicist, he is also one of the world’s finest science communicators. In this bracing interview with Graham, Dijkgraaf lucidly describes the state of modern fundamental physics and the continually surprising – and extraordinarily productive – symbiosis between this science and modern mathematics. As Graham says: ‘Robbert gives us a real tour de force.’This is one of a number of interviews given by world-class experts to Graham on the themes he explores in his new book The Universe Speaks in Numbers. "The moment where everything in you says you stop, but you don't get to stop and you just have to push through." This week's guest is Tool Shed Brewing Co-Founder Graham Sherman, here to share some wisdom on how being an entrepreneur is like running a marathon. True to the name, Tool Shed Brewing began in Graham's backyard tool shed, bottling the first batch in 2012, and by the winter of 2013 Graham and his business partner had beer on the shelves in local stores. They had realized they had cracked into a hobby that truly brings people together, and a secret of life: a way to make people around them happy. As Graham puts it: "You sleep like a baby when you've made everyone around you happy all day" Graham and his business partner first met while building communication infrastructure for Canadian troops station in Afghanistan, often spending more than 6 months at a time away from home making it possible for Canadian soldiers to call home to their families. After deciding diving in to the home brewing hobby they decided to take a massive leap: leaving their jobs to jump off the metaphorical cliff and going after a dream, which has now turned into one of the most recongizable breweries in Calgary.
Why is it important that Jesus was raised from the dead? As Graham gives us a taste of Easter, we discover that without the resurrection of Jesus our lives are simply a waiting game into heaven. But the fact that Jesus was raised means we are given power to live miraculous lives, as Jesus did – bringing the kingdom of God wherever we go. https://youtu.be/bCfhp1hk9Oo The post Graham Hill | The Resurrection appeared first on Jubilee Church Wirral.
Graham Mosimann does evenings at Calgary's alternative X92.9. I hired Graham back in 2014 to work at Power 97 in Winnipeg and decided to call him up and see how he was doing. It has been neat listening to his progress as a performer, and equally amazing watching his personal journey as he drops weight and makes life changes as he goes. As Graham tells me, he was a mess, became a bigger mess after he was fired from Power 97, and slowly began to get his life together shortly after. It's an honest conversation about doing the things you need to do to be your best on the air.He also tells us about his excitement working with Christian Hall who was the subject of an earlier episode. The collapse of Lehman Brothers in 2008 is often seen as the catalyst for the Global Financial Crisis, which wiped trillions of dollars from global markets and shook confidence in financial systems across the world. According to veteran investor and commentator Graham Hand, the GFC actually started a year earlier in the global credit markets, but the equity markets ignored it. With hindsight, everyone had the chance to exit shares at elevated prices with plenty of notice, as the credit markets were screaming for all to see, in every part of the world. ----more---- As Graham tells Gemma Dale, panic hit the multi-billion dollar borrowing programme he was managing a full 13 months before the Lehman crisis. In this fascinating and timely podcast, Graham discusses: How global funding markets effectively closed overnight, never to re-open The warning signs as a subprime debt crisis swept across the Atlantic How equity markets ignored the signals for over 12 months before collapsing, and What he learned, including steps he takes to protect his investments from similar risks in the future. Television current affairs veteran Graham Archer fears for the future of investigative journalism. With social media driving a news cycle at break neck speed, bite sized content and broken business models, risky investigations are less attractive to media companies. The question is - do we care? Graham still does. Current affairs television has been his world for the last 25 years, with Channel 9's A Current Affair, ABC's 730 Report and now Channel 7's director of news and current affairs in Adelaide. Graham says media plays a crucial role in holding powerful people and organisations to account, and can influence justice even when the Courts and Parliament can't. This was certainly the case for Henry Keogh, who was wrongly convicted for murder in a high profile case that played out in South Australia from 1995, until Keogh's release in early 2016. It is a remarkable and shocking story (references below for more information about the case). Graham was one of the few journalists who continued to ask questions, filing 60 stories over 15 years. When you threaten powerful people and their systems, resistance is bitter. As Graham raised questions about the Keogh case he was stunned at the attacks on his credibility coming from Parliament and other circles. We talk about this much more .. including the former school teacher's unusual pathway to journalism, and why the "tragic and absurd" world of current affairs television gets a bad wrap. “Xavi’s movement is a kind of reverse sheepdog trick — instead of penning a flock in to an enclosed space, his darting, nipping and barking is about spreading them around the field, into unexplored, unpredictable spaces.” In Episode Thirteen we bring you ‘The Inverted Sheepdog’ by Graham Hunter, which looks in detail at how the Spain international became the creative hub of the all-conquering Barcelona team of the early twenty-first century. After taking the silver medal at the 2013 US ModernPentathlon National championships, Graham Maas returned home and immediately made a vow to return in 2014 and bring back gold. In this age of limited attention spans, one year is a long time for a boy of fourteen to stick to a plan. For those unfamiliar with Modern Pentathlon, the sport includes fencing, swimming, running and shooting. Athletes younger than nineteen do not compete in equestrian events, the fifth pentathlon element, for liability reasons. If you think getting your child to soccer practice each week is tough, try scheduling practice for four events on a daily basis. The first step in Graham’s plan was to become an even faster runner. Fortunately, he runs for the Wayzata cross country team. In his final middle school season, Graham went from being a middle of the pack runner to one of the top five runners on the team. Graham singled out the coaching of Chad Bartels and Kraig Lungstrom who worked with him to become better at pacing and using proper form. All of which paid off in spades. Graham finishing up a cross country race for Wayzata in 2013Graham swims year-round with the Life Time Bears swim team. It’s not every swimmer that gets to swim with the US Paralympic national coach, but again fortune shined on Graham when the swim team named Tom Franke as its head coach. Franke, was recently tabbed the Paralympic National Coach of theYear. Franke helped Team USA to an astonishing 41 medals at the 2012 London Paralympics as co-head coach of the U.S. squad. Graham & swim coach, Tom Franke Franke also individually coached Team USA's three captains: Anna Eames (silver), Cortney Jordan (three silvers, one bronze) and Justin Zook (gold and a world record). Zook has been a key motivator for Graham, providing all the depth and knowledge required to become an Olympian. Before swimming at the Olympic Training Center Aquatic Center, Graham always pays a visit to the photo of Justin Zook, one of his swim coaches back in Minnesota In the three months following cross country season, Franke had lowered Graham’s 200 freestyle time by twelve seconds. Graham also credits Franke with something else: firing the inner Olympic spirit in him and more importantly, being a gracious and humble competitor. In late winter, Graham was struggling with his fencing. He was losing more than ever before. He was having performance meltdowns on the fencing strip. It simply was not working for him. The stars aligned again when Minnesota Sword Club director Rich Jacobson introduced Graham to Jim Johnson, the competitive instructor at the club. Johnson and Graham immediately clicked. As Graham stated, “Prior to Coach Johnson, I was just told to ‘do this’ or ‘do that’ but no one ever connected the dots for me so I never knew why I was doing something with my footwork or with the blade. Coach Johnson explained to me the why, and it all became so clear. I guess I’m sort of cerebral and I just needed to see the end game.” Graham became a much more confident fencer and it started to show in tournaments. Progress was being made.Graham & Minnesota Sword Club competitive epee instructor, Jim Johnson
